Here’s my say on this photo, specifically on how it may be Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis

So, first I think that the hair resembles the both of theirs quite a bit, as well as the skin tone. The photo is in black and white but the person on the right (the supposed Dean Martin) seems to have more of a tan, while the person on the left (the supposed Jerry Lewis) is more pale which is how their skin tones were in real life. The hand with the ring appears to be the right hand of the person on the right as if that’s so then the ring would be on his right hands ring finger. Did Dean ever wear a ring like that on that finger? I don’t know. Moving on. Now I want to talk about their only other feature here that could possibly identify them; their clothes. The supposed Jerry is wearing a nondescript light shirt with stripes and the supposed Dean seems to be in a letterman’s jacket. Some may disagree but I think it truly is one, and I have some not so substantial but still there evidence to (kind of) prove it. We see his left sleeve has two light colored stripes and what looks like a star over it. The two stripes look much like those on a letterman’s jacket but the star like shape confused me so I did some quick research. Apparently, a star indicates a team captain. Here’s my source:

Now, you may notice that this is Wikipedia, and that is why I described it as not so substantial but still there evidence. It makes sense to me and that’s why I believe it’s true. But I really know nothing about football so maybe someone with experience can confirm or deny this. Anyways, once I got the idea that this was a letterman’s jacket, I skimmed through “That’s My Boy” because Dean plays a football player in the movie. In my quick look through I saw no jacket like this one wore by Dean Martin. He does wear a letterman’s jacket but its colors are light with dark stripes, and this one is the opposite. But, there is one thing worn by Jerry at the very end of the film. In the scene he goes up to his father and says “Dad see I wore my letter!” Here’s a behind the scenes photo of him in the sweater:

This sweater is a dark colored one like the one in the photo but unfortunately Jerry’s wearing a coat over it and so we cannot see the sleeves, specifically the left one. It is like a letterman’s jacket and so I believe it must have had the stripes but of course I don’t know. It’s possible, but who knows? Well anyways, with all this in mind, my theory is that if this is a photo of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis then it was during the filming of “That’s My Boy” and Dean took the sweater or they swapped clothes or something. This may be unlikely but there is evidence of them wearing each other’s clothes before. Still, this would’ve been something that was part of the costume and not their personal wear so I don’t know if Dean would take something from wardrobe, especially since it wasn’t even part of his. Maybe he stole it, I don’t know. The other (more likely) possibility is that this is two random guys and the one on the right was a football captain in high school or college. I think it’s more fun to think of it the other way around but since there’s no solid evidence, the second option is more realistic and probably closer to the truth. If only we had the source of the photo. Who put it on the internet?! It is impossible to know. Please everyone share your thoughts!
