Though he doesn’t laugh at his own words, Sharena does, her shoulders relaxing at the revelation. Of course it still sucks that the place is in shambles, but at least it wasn’t a home. Whoever it belongs to, she can take peace in knowing their most important things are probably safe. She chooses to believe they are, at least.

She nods, glancing down at her own clothes, still an unfamiliar sight to her and not as unique as some of the others had gotten, but still recognizable as what it’s meant to be. “Yeah. Got here the day after it resolved, and they still managed to scrounge up a uniform for me, somehow.” 

It’s kind of impressive, in a way. Despite everything that happened, they’re still able to process applications and procure uniforms. Even if she doesn’t get things like personal customization or any form of housing just yet. She gets it. Times are tough. They’ll probably have it sorted out in a month or so.

In the meantime though, the rubble still remains exactly that. Rubble. And it’ll stay that way until someone does something about it, and unfortunately standing around talking does not count as a ‘something’ it’ll take to magically restore itself to its former gift-shop-or-something glory. Although that would be pretty cool and she kinda wishes it would.

Princess smiles as she turns slightly to better face the king (Prince? Guy?? She doesn’t know what part of his timeline he’s from when he isn’t wearing any of the outfits that she used to mentally differentiate the Alms), then offering out her hand. “I’m Sharena by the way, nice to meet you! If this isn’t yours, I’m guessing you’re here to help with the cleanup, too?”

Sharena nods, hand already digging through her pockets in search of a spare band before her new roommate even finishes agreeing. She’s glad she still carries a bunch on her now, even if she doesn’t have them constantly breaking on her like she used to when the habit first formed.

Hair bands swiftly retrieved, she sets mini-Askr aside and hops back off the bed, instead making her way across the room to join Ena on the other. She makes sure she sits far enough away she doesn’t crowd her — and close enough to the edge she can easily slide off if she’s unwanted there. She hopes she’s not, but just in case. Last thing she wants is for her to make the laguz uncomfortable, or for them to fight. That would not be very helpful in the path to becoming friends.

Palms open to reveal a larger golden band like that which holds the bulk of her hair together in one, and a smaller black band in the other. It’s hard for her to tell exactly how much hair she has, and it’s not like this is a conversation she’s ever had with the Ena they summoned to Askr, so probably best to just let her pick herself. “Here we go! Which one do you want?”

One look at the room is enough to determine what she said is true, even without her having to say it. She’s starting to wish she brought stuff more from home than she did… She’s got practically nothing from her room to decorate with! That’s what happens when you leave your room in a panic, she guesses.

Sharena nods, a polite bow in thanks before walking further into the room. Hm… she can store her clothes there, her regular lances can go there, armor there…She wonders if Ena has so little because that’s just what she prefers, or if it’s because of the fire..?

…Probably best to not ask.

She takes care to keep the general area she throws most of her stuff into for the moment as on ‘her side’ of the room as she can as she listens to the other talk, leaning Fensalir up against the wall on the bed opposite the one the dragon had claimed for her own. Hands now mostly free, she waves off the comment with a smile. “You’re fine, don’t worry about it. I’ve seen my brother in far worse shape post-battle. You look great, all things considered!”

Deciding to keep her last object with her for now rather than search for a spot, Sharena turns, caping swinging around behind her before she hops up onto her new bed. The squishy mattress bounces underneath her as she pulls her legs up onto the bed, sitting cross-legged and plopping her ‘token of Askr’ (a replica, of course. The real one she left with Veronica. He’s just so cute, she couldn’t help but make two!) onto her lap. So he can hang out with them. As he deserves, being one of the only sentimental objects she decided to grab from her room before jumping into this world.

Gaze shifts down to the other’s hair once settled, pointing down at shiny pink that caught her eye. “I got some extra hair ties on me, if you want one.”

Sharena’s hand hovers over the door for far longer than is probably necessary.  “It’s okay, ‘Rena, you can do this… Just rooming with a hero. For the first time ever. No big deal.” She mutters quietly under her breath as finally grips the cool metal that makes up the door handle. What could go wrong, right? It’s not like this is a lifelong dream of hers or anything. That’d be ridiculous. Who dreams like that, that’s dumb.

She takes a few deep breaths, steadying herself, before giving a swift knock to the door as a heads up, then finally opening it. She smiles brightly, opening her mouth to say something, then stops.

She’s…… That’s not Ena. She thought she was supposed to be rooming with Ena? Sure, the faces match, her hair’s pretty similar. That and they have the same face markings, same aloof, mysterious vibes… But where’s her fun hat??? She gets that was just a costume for the harvest festival, yeah, but. This feels wrong.

She tries her best to shake it off. She’s been staring for way too long. The hand once used to open the door extends outwards to the dragon, other occupied with carrying what little she had run through the gateway with in her panic. “Hiya, roomie! Ena, right? I’m Sharena, it’s great to meet you, too! You got any preference where I should put my stuff or can I just throw it down wherever?”

New building materials are being shipped as donations from various noble houses to help with the reconstruction effort, but those materials need to actually be moved to the right areas! Big, strong arms are in desperate need to do all the necessary heavy lifting, and hey, it might be a good idea to keep a close eye on how your new room's being rebuilt… [Grants Heavy Armor +1]

Sharena hasn’t really visited Fodlan, herself, before now. But she’s seen enough Fodlans from the time this is supposed to be through the gateways Kiran summons the students from. A happy, bright, friendly world. Full of peace. Not a pile of mostly rubble. It’s just sad.

She frowns as she steps over a larger piece of wood (probably a support beam that failed its job, she assumes. Not that she blames it in these conditions), carefully approaching the nearest building that once was. Probably a home, by the looks of it. Not one for very long, but a home nonetheless. It’s still gotta be devastating.

She turns her head to the person standing next to her, the one she assumes to be the homeowner, or at least the one who rented it or something, however it works here. Despite how many people she’s seen clearly not meant to be in this world, and yet are already, she nearly stumbles back at the sight of the warrior next to her. Thankfully though, she doesn’t. That would’ve been embarrassing. And pretty rude, considering the circumstances.

Huh. Feels weird, seeing him without Celica for once.

The princess coughs, then clears her throat. She doesn’t want to startle him in a place like this, after all. She very much likes her head where it is, thank you. “Was, uh… was this one yours?”

Many places had been ravaged in the Fall of Garreg Mach last month, one such place being the Church's prized greenhouse. Though the monastery is able to receive food supplies from the other regions of Fódlan to help feed those who work tirelessly on the reconstruction efforts, the Church seeks to begin rebuilding their plots too. Get your hands dirty, reworking the soil and planting new seeds for the sake of the monastery's future self sufficiency, and with it, plant a seed of hope that things shall return to what they once were too… [Grants Gauntlets +1]

War is no stranger to the one titled ‘war-princess’. As saddening and stressful and unfun as it is, it’s what’s true. But at the very least, the old saying was right. Practice gives experience and all that. And experience tells her one of the first things a place needs to get back on its feet after a battle has razed it to the ground is some good ol’ plants!

Sharena pokes her head in through the door of the greenhouse (one of the only things about it still standing, weirdly. She probably could’ve gone around it, but it feels wrong), glass that once formed walls crunching under her feet in a way that makes her cringe. Yeah, okay, they were not exaggerating. Calling this place ‘in rough shape’ was putting it lightly. They’ve already got crows picking at what’s left! Really, really big crows! It’s kinda impressive actually.

Wait a minute. That’s not a crow.

Large bird… probably a laguz… not the crow one… Oh! That’s probably this world’s Tibarn — hawk king of Phoenicis! Well that makes this easier. She was not looking forward to trying to scare away that thing solo.

She just hopes this Tibarn is one of the ones more accepting of humans— er, beorcs.

“Hey! Down here!” Sharena cups a hand to her mouth, standing on her tiptoes and waving the other in the air to try to get the bird’s attention. “You’re working on the greenhouse, right? Need some help?”

Portrayal Notes:

Sharena is placed post-book-6-pre-book-7 as of her acceptance until I update this. This means I am as of now treating books 7, 8, and 9 as if they are not real. This is because I have not read them. I’ll get to it soon I just wanted to make sure I got Sharena out in the world first so I didn’t have to deal with another Embla muse situation coming out of nowhere and killing her off mid-app like what happened to Kagetsu.

You may not know her, but she most definitely knows you so watch out. She knows all. She could even introduce you to thousands of strangers on her own webpage if she wanted to! (She won’t though. That’s creepy. She doesn’t wanna freak you out like that.) For the sake of not making everyone think she’s insane, she will not be going up to people like “:0 omg….. that’s blorbo from my Hero’s Barracks……” but she will be thinking it so. Be Aware™. 

As I myself have only played like 3 out of the 17 fire emblem games and as such only know ~44% of the characters currently in TOA like at all (yes I did the math shush), Sharena’s initial knowledge of all muses will be based solely on their Meet The Hero’s entry and their FEH voice lines if I happen to have them for the sake of consistency. It is not always the most accurate characterization in the world (especially for older games which makes it even worse because those are the ones I have zero context for), so if Sharena gets anything glaringly wrong please do not blame me I’m trying my best blame Heroes

Major FEH story spoilers will be tagged as such with the tag “feh spoilers”! (Very original, I know, thanks for noticing I worked hard on it)

For the sake of distinguishing her from Elise so I’m not just musing the same character twice, I tend to try to lean into Sharena’s more competent and responsible side we see her with in battle than her blindly trusting silly side. I have reasons for this IC of course and she is still my silly, she’s just not as silly with me as some may perceive her to be so I’m just putting a warning so nobody gets blindsided by what they think is something too ooc for Sharena. I promise I’m sticking as close to the vibes I get from her as I can even if she has a brain (affectionate).
