Humans are adorable.
Supporting evidence:
1. Humans say âowâ, even if they havenât actually been hurt. Itâs just a thing they say when they think they might have been hurt, but arenât sure yet.
2. Humans collect shiny things and decorate their bodies and nests with them. The shinier the better, although each individual has a unique taste for style and colouring
3. Humans are not an aquatic or even amphibious species, but they flock to bodies of water simply to play in it. They canât even hold their breath all that long; they just love to splash!
4. When night falls and the sky goes dark, humans become drowsy and begin to cocoon themselves in soft, fluffy bedding.
5. Some humans spend time in each otherâs nests! Just for fun! Itâs not their nest; theyâre just visiting each other.
6. Some humans use pigments and dyes to make their bodies flashy and colourful! They even attach shiny dangly bits to their cartalidgous membranes!
7. Humans are very clever, and sometimes adopt creatures from other species into their family units. They donât seem to notice the obvious differences, and often raise them alongside their own young!
8. If a human sees another creature in distress, they can commonly be observed trying to help! Even at their own risk, most humans are deeply compassionate creatures!
9. If a human hears a particularity catchy sound or tune, it will often mimic it, even to the point of annoying themselves!
10. Sneezes are entirely involuntary, and completely adorable. Especially when the human in question becomes frustrated
11. Humans love treats!!! Some more than others. Many humans will save these treats specifically for a later date when they are in need of comfort or reassurance. IE, pickles, pop tarts, Popsicles, etc
12. Theyâre learning to travel in space!!! They canât get very far, but theyâre trying!!! So far, theyâve made it to the end of their yard, and have found rocks

She was the first woman to...
âŠtravel around the world in a damned Zeppelin.
Lady Hay Drummond-Hay (September 12, 1895âFebruary 12, 1946) was a star journalist who became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe, and she did it in a damned Zeppelin. She went on to report from war zones like Abyssinia (now Ethiopia) and Manchuria (now part of China), fell into a tumultuous romance with a fellow reporter, and was eventually captured by the Japanese during WWII.
âŠswim the English Channel.
Gertrude Ederle (October 23, 1905 â November 30, 2003) was a competitive swimmer, Olympic champion, and at one time held five world records. If there was a world record for coolest nickname she wouldâve held six, because hers was âQueen of the Waves.â When Ederle set out to become the first woman to swim the English channel, she used motorcycle goggles and sealed the edges with wax to keep the salt water out of her eyes. Due to unfavorable and violent wind conditions twelve hours into her 14 hour and 34 minute journey, her trainer shouted at her to get out of the water and into his boat. She reportedly popped her head up from the water to simply ask âwhat for?âÂ
âŠtravel around the world in less than 80 days.
Nellie Bly (May 5, 1864âJanuary 27, 1922) asked her editor at the New York World if she could take a stab at turning the story Around the World in 80 Days from fiction to fact. Using railways and steamships, Bly chuggah-chuggahed and toot-tooted the nearly 25,000 mile trip in just 72 days, meeting Jules Verne and buying a monkey along the way. If her name sounds familiar but these stories donât, itâs probably because youâve heard about how she once faked a mental illness so she could write an exposĂ© on psychiatric asylums. Or maybe itâs because of her famed coverage of the Woman Suffrage Parade of 1913. Or maybe itâs because youâre a big fan of farming and industrialist patents and heard she invented a novel milk can and a stacking garbage can. Nellie Bly did a lot in her short 57 years.Â

What advice would you give to young women who want to get into politics?
Thatâs a fantastic question! When I was campaigning andyoung girls would find out that I was the first Latina to potentially beelected into the Senate, I heard so much excitement from them. I realized thatthey looked at me and thought: If she can do it, so can I. And that is justamazing. Because they can! And they should. There are women who weretrailblazers for me and thatâs why Iâve been successful. Now itâs my turn toopen doors for those behind me.
So, if you want it and are willing to work hard â go for it!Thereâs nothing young girls shouldnât feel like they canât do. When women applyfor a job, we ask ourselves, âAm I qualified? Do I have the experience? DoI have the education? Do I have the abilities?â We need to stopsecond-guessing our abilities. We need to stand up and make ourselves heard.Women can be whoever they want to be. In todayâs challenging political environment, itâs moreimportant than ever that we have strong, passionate, fierce women working inpolitics. So, if you are thinking about getting into politics, just do it. Butdo it for the right reasons: Fighting for the most vulnerable.
