Shadow Dog . . . Was fun trying to get him into this position. Lol. Love the colors.
It’s been a tough several days. On Sunday, Rufus was attacked by a dog on the loose causing him to have to have surgery on Monday. He’s recovering nicely, thankfully. Rufus has always been his own sort of complicated (skateboards, scooters) but I’ve always kept him on a tight leash to avoid issues. Luckily, he seems pretty much unfazed by the whole incident! But it makes me nervous on walks now.
I’m thinking this image would be great printed on canvas and wrapped! So looking forward to studio space this year. :-)

A quick practice image from the 1st. The first image I had shot in a month! It could benefit from some additional processing (focus stacking) and some more leaves on the vines. But I was happy to line up the vineyard with the snowy mountains! In a couple of weeks, the moon should come up nearby and I’ll try again. We shall see if there is snow then.
I have been focusing on sequencing portfolios and organizing images for books in preparation for next year (this year!). I had wanted to get some outlines started, processes streamlined, and hard drive organized. Prep work so I can continue working on my own photography once I go back to work. I want to be able select images for calls for entry and more easily sequence new books for portfolio reviews. Once I get several books solidly started, the hard part will begin . . . mixing the work into one larger portfolio that gives a sense of my overall capabilities. It’s great practice, reviewing and analyzing one’s work. Being diligent about it helps me not love/hate my work so much!

The hard work doesn't stop! I'm excited to share this selection of large prints that I've made into a print portfolio. The prints were created and needed a home, so I put them into a new 13" x 19" portfolio for safekeeping and sharing. It also makes it easier to view and sequence as a whole! Can't wait to make prints from more recent work and replace them all! #Moon #Nature #Water #Forest #Desert #Shadows #Prints #Sandscape #Flowers #Trees #SouthernCalifornia #Desert #Grasses #Web #BlackAndWhitePhotography #Photography #Clouds #Footprints #Tracks #TireTracks #Leichen #PatternsInTheSand #FurryTree #Spirits #Moontribe #Hawaii #Windmills #Hana #Yosemite #YoungLakes #Valley #LightRefraction #Red #Sunset #WarmAndCool #Marina #Mexico #PrayerFlags #Beetle #Bug #Love #LoveBug #Steps #Tinnemaha #Diptych #Waterfall #Concert #Moderat #Prints

Here’s a small presentation of the first series I shot digitally! I also printed this series digitally using Epson printers and papers. They were exhibited at the renowned, local Venice coffee shop, Abbot’s Habit . . which was a home away from home for me for many years!
Several of these prints are still in my portfolio, integrated with newer works. Contact me for pricing and availability. kristina (at) kristinasimonsen.com

we wrestled for a while, but it all worked out! first time cutting sheets from roll paper and loading the curled paper in the machine. 😂 i’m so happy i’m getting to this image. this was shot last year w my iphone. i was driving to work, spotted this, and pulled over to snap a quick shot. i always intend to go back w the real camera but . . . i’ve blown this up for a roughly 17 x 42 inch frame i had. this is only half the image! 📱📸🖨 now on to part 2!! #digitalprinting #epson #archival #archivaldigitalprint #shadows #tree #makeart #photography #print #shotoniphone7

the color is a little off. right now, sometimes it’s the print settings and sometimes it’s the inconsistent lighting in the space where i work. still running ink through the machine and testing papers. but this is a mock-up of a 16x20” image printed from my iphone 7!! i decided to to test it this way to see how it held up . . . and the quality is really great! must invest in larger paper. * i went out for a bike ride yesterday morning and again at sunset. took the “real camera”! going thru images . . . and need to print test one of those images as well. 😁 * #printing #epson #epson3880 #printtesting #photography #printstudio #shotoniphone #iphone7
