I never saw people say stuff like this enough when I was a teenager, so I’m saying it now.

I’m in my mid-thirties and I have never had sex. I’ve thought about it and could have had one or two opportunities if I put in more effort, but I always decided against it because I just wasn’t into it at the time.

I can safely say that I do not feel I have missed out on anything. I was perfectly capable, by myself, of learning about my own body and boundaries without anyone else there to muddy the waters. The immense pressure that was there in my teens/twenties to Have Sex Just Do It is basically gone. I’m vibing. I’ve got my routine by myself in bed that I enjoy, and that’s enough for me.

And in the unlikely event that I ever decide to have sex with someone in the future, I don’t feel at all like I’m lacking some essential Knowledge or Skill that would “make it good” for someone else. I fully expect to ask my partner out loud what they like and to receive an answer clearly communicated and to relax and have fun. And if it’s a disappointing experience, I’m fine with that too. It is what it is.

Sex is just not that big of a deal. I suspected it as a teen, and I’m more sure of it now. It’s fine to have it or not have it. It’s whatever.

i know i could probably change this by letting youtube track what i watch (however by now i rarely watch anything on there) but I CAN NOT wrap my head around people SPENDING TIME on there, WILLINGLY, for ENTERTAINMENT????? every single time i go on there to find some specific video, youtube shows me 1 result with a vague relevancy re my search query and scrolling down beyond that feels like having to wade through literal shit and heaps of garbage to the point that i simply cannot go on after 10 "videos" or so in fear of what will be shown to my eyes when i keep scrolling... finding the video i am looking for feels like finding an intact bag of haribo on a garbage dump, like LITERALLY, it's all clickbait and ai and w e i r d shorts, so many shorts!!!! and body horror and... biological?! horror?? i don't even know what to call that??? like i presume that that is a "strategy"??? to lure people into clicking on the videos? which is NOT working on me???? it is really really comically absurd what has become of that place

Während ich für @dancinbutterfly die englischen Untertitel zu EdN korrigiert hab, sind mir da so einige Sätze begegnet, die wohl Wort für Wort aus dem Deutschen übersetzt wurden und einfach herrlich sind 😂

Meine Highlights hier unterm Cut.

"please eat what" (Bitte iss was)

Also ob What so gut schmeckt, weiß ich ja jetzt nicht 😂

"I will burn but not now!" (Ich verbrenn doch jetzt nicht)

(Aber das ist auch ein gutes Beispiel dafür, dass man das Wort "doch" eben nicht so einfach übersetzen kann. Wir Deutschen sind halt iconic.)

"this is a misery here." (Das ist ein Elend hier) Stell mir nur vor, wie das so'n deutscher Tourist mit in die Hüften gestemmten Armen sagt, wenn er das berüchtigte englische Wetter kennenlernt

"the cause of death probably... The." (Todesursache vermutlich... das.) Erinnert mich nur an das hier:

"It will give a second explosion" sure, and it will also give a lot of Frustration caused by denglischer Grammatik

"Let yourself be Do not catch from wood" jaja, lass dich besser nicht vom Holz fangen, das wird da sehr böse😂 (Lass dich damit nicht von Hölzer erwischen)

"What for a case?" (Was für ein Fall?) Was soll man da noch sagen.

"Have no fear." Also sowas kannste vielleicht zu Batman sagen... aber nicht zu einem kleinen Kind. (Hab keine Angst)

Warum lese ich das mit der weichen Stimme einer Oma, die nix von Technik versteht, aber so tut, als wüsste sie alles?
