My name is Johnel Agathias Guildern a.k.a Whisper. I'm a mutant, a telepath actually. I currently live in San Francisco Bay on Utopia.I don't quite know who my parents are, never really had the chance to meet them before they were killed. But I have my brothers; Connor and Dexter. I'm actually kind of fond of Raven, saved my life after all. I also kinda have a soft spot for the clairvoyant nerd, Ryan. Go say hi, he doesn't bite. If he does, he'll warn you. Honestly he does that.[ RP Blog ] [ Disclaimer ]

<That's...terribly sad.>
themodernprimitive replied to your post: Talk? Uh. Brain talk?
*He shrugs.* Not sure. No spar. No fight… no mate?
<Ah. You can’t find anyone to occupy your time then? That’s a shame. You seem like such a fascinating person.>

Brain talk? That's a new one...>
*Steepling his fingers in front of his lips, there's a slight smile.*
What is it you'd like to talk about?>

Soft humming, a light tapping with his foot as he moved and swayed through the kitchen to the music floating out. A smile plays at his lips, hands busy with the pie he's making. Clattering, clunking, generally making enough noise as he digs around the kitchen looking for a specific pan he doesn't hear the soft footsteps or the soft click of metal against wood as a gun is placed aside. Instead his mind is busy upon the task at hand, in pulling the pie out of the over soon after and carrying it with hot mitts as the aroma fills the air.
Setting the pie aside briefly, he swipes his finger at the crust, tasting the warm fruit filling that stains his fingers dark red violet. However it's when out of habit he feels with his mind that he senses another presence here within the apartment. Brows furrow and immediately Johnel toys with grabbing a knife and confronting the intruder. Instead the telepath recognizes the feel, the thoughts, and a bright smile stretches across his lips. Lifting the pie up, excited to show Ryan his first attempt at such a thing, he carries it as he heads into the living room.
Thump!
Pastry and fruit fall in a steaming hot mess upon the floor as the telepath finally sees Ryan and finds he doesn't quite recognize the face before him. Only he does recognize the weathered man and he's left standing there in an apron and hot mitts with his pie staining the carpet as he stares with mild disbelief. Johnel remembers that jaw of scruff and the calm eyes from the vision of his death. Stepping over the mess made, the mitts hit the ground next and his eyes dance over the face before him.
Tentatively the telepath reaches out, a gentle nudge of his own mind with Ryan's as he projects quietly, <You look like hell...the future is really that bad...?> It's easy as breathing to slowly repair the severed link between them, brief as it would last. Johnel's fingers itch to reach out and touch, to make sure this was indeed real and not another odd dream of his own death. <...what are you doing here, Ry?>
Ghosts
Nothing had changed.
Everything had changed but really nothing had changed at all. This place that was long gone was right there, in the same way that everything else Ryan saw was far gone but also right there.
An apartment. For a short time, they had an actual domestic life and an apartment. They had signed the lease together and everything. Ryan still knew the suite number; still knew where they hid their spare key; still knew the layout of the place, the way Johnel never dusted properly.
When Ryan turned the key and let himself out of the heat, the air conditioning washed over him and his memory became a reality. Everything was cool, modern, and clean (except for the dust spots). He smelled a pie of some kind; there was music.
Johnel had not even noticed him.
Johnel.
The ghost was right around the corner, only he still had flesh and blood.
Ryan did not think as he crossed the room to the coffee table and sat at the couch that Johnel had picked out and that Ryan remembered hating so much. Now, he liked it. He liked it because Johnel had picked it.
There were photographs on the end table. In one, Johnel stood beside his brothers and they were all smiling. Ryan had had to tell an awful joke to get them to crack for the camera.
In the other, Ryan and Johnel were perched in a tree, asleep (and Ryan had not kept facial hair then; it was a small, alarming difference). They had been picnicking with Iz and she’d thought it was just the cutest. Iz had always been so supportive.
Iz who never knew.
Iz who learned at the last moment, when the men came with guns and she screamed; Iz who was so human, who was a bag of flesh and blood and love, but who told them to run, even when they said they would kill her and she screamed anyway.
Iz all covered in red. Iz, long, long dead but alive now. Alive with Johnel.
Johnel who always knew; who would learn very soon that the future had other plans.
Ryan set his Glock down on the table, as well as his knife. The music stopped and he pulled down his hood, and at the last second he realized that Johnel would remember this - he would remember whatever was about to happen, and he would hide it from Ryan when Ryan returned from his mission.
Even after everything, Ryan still burdened Johnel with more than he ever deserved, but Johnel’s footfalls were rounding the corner; he was coming. There was no leaving now.

<You'd be surprised. She's...well...a fascinating woman. Regardless, I know what I have to do. Have a bit of faith won't you? Being threatened by Death is hardly anything at all, I don't fear Death, I've seen it before. If anything I respect it and at most extremes, I despise it.>
*he absently waves his hand*
<Apologies. I'm rambling. So, Mister LeBeau, whenever you're ready...we can begin.>

<You sound like you almost have the same, well, ‘problem’ that Raven once did. Where she had darkness born of herself you have this…Death. Miss Frost helped bind yours away…well, I’ll see what I can do. Though I don’t know if I can help do much else aside from try and strengthen the bindings already in place.>
*gives a slight grin*
<Don’t look so worried, I’ve been underestimated before. I can do this.>

<Yes well, it’s the only way I can converse with people to be quite honest. As for understanding you, I warn you, I’m still only a student when it comes to these things.>
*takes his hand back and looks over the other man carefully*
<So you’re asking for help purely because…you’re troubled? Hm. Well…do tell, or show. Your choice. I’ll attempt to help you however I can.>

*raises an eyebrow*
<Mister LeBeau, I'm hardly a child and as such I think I'm far from being troubled by such thoughts. As for what it is I fear, you've given me little to no reason to tell you anything so personal. In the mean time, you may call me Johnel and we may get to know one another.>

30 Days of Character Development: Day One.
1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
Sadly Johnel and his siblings were never given the chance of knowing much less meeting their parents. Though Johnel often likes to claim that he would be the most spoiled of the three. Growing up he loved the stories of their parents that his siblings would tell him.
He did grow attached to one foster home that he and his brothers stayed at until Dexter's powers manifested and their 'parents' were intent on splitting them up. As for liking them now though?
Nope.

<A pleasant jackass...oh the irony that I prefer the you that I know.>
*rubs the bridge of his nose, sighing slightly and instead looking instead in his satchel carefully at his side for a pen and paper*
<Let's see if you're still an asshole when we can communicate...>
*casually begins to write on the paper and shows it with a careful look*
My name is Johnel.
I know another 'version' of you. He's a good man. Consider me merely curious to see what kind of man you are as well. I can see why you'd be averse to telepaths.
Charles Xavier, I assume.

They had wasted too much time, left Mystique to her own whims to do god knows what to Raven's mind. Johnel had tried to be present the most he could, to continued to combat her quietly and weaken her down. Each time, each day, he spent training under Jean he grew in power and in skill.
Now was in essence a moment of truth.
Johnel took a slow breath, sitting down at the chair and sharing that quick brief look with one another. Then it's habit, closing his eyes and focusing on tightening the link between them. <I'll give you as much time as I can manage, Erik. But hurry, if Mystique rips you away from my grip you could be lost in there.> Speak of the devil, the boy mused as he felt that dark looming pressure in Raven's mind beginning to stir once more.
<I can get you inside but it's up to you to bring her back, to find your way back to my hand to you.> Another slow breath, there was little left to be said as he quickly solidified the link between Raven's mind and his own. The telepath pushes Mystique with one hard solid shove, leaving her dazed and giving them an opening. It's not much, but it's enough.
<Good luck Erik.>
Then he sends their minds straight into the warped, twisted, dreamscape of Raven's mind.
Descent into Madness.
