Okay - it has come to my attention that this info might not be commonly known, and some people might find it useful.

HOW TO "BLACKLIST" content... I have done this mini-tutorial on mobile (and used my main in the screenshots).

You can blacklist tags, and you can also blacklist post content. This means your online tumblr experience will not show you the stuff you don't want to see. It is not infallible, however it does make for a much nicer time on tumblr if you know how to use the functions as they have been designed.

For example if you follow my main, you could blacklist "to do list" and you wouldn't see that post nearly every day (ooh! Exciting, has she crossed 'eating breakfast' off her to do list???). If you are here, you can blacklist "real life ramblings" and you won't see the (admittedly rare) posts I make in reference to my RL. I make a habit of pointing these out every so often with a "<- for your black list" tag.

I hope this helps at least one person.

what's the origin of your blog title? “Living in a crazy world” is a pretty apt description of life tbh. But mostly, it’s cause I don’t have a creative bone in my body.

otp(s) + shipname(s): Bradley and Jake (Hangster) which seems to overtake my life these days. From others – Harry and Ginny and Lily and James from HP; I was very into Kurt and Blaine from Glee back in the day, but kinda went off the show as a whole. Sherlock and John (Johnlock) from Sherlock the TV Series. And the rest have really fallen into obscurity.

favourite colour: Purple – the royal shade that is really deep is my fave hue, but really I love anything in the range of purple.

song stuck in your head: Country Roads, which you can thank Charlie Cameron for. Hearing that belted out by 30,000 people at the top of their lungs is something else.

weirdest habit/trait: I am ridiculously good at remembering your whole life story just by looking at you, but ask me to tell you your name and nine times out of ten I’ll be fresh out of luck.  

hobbies: Reading (obvs) – I consume stories like they are going out of fashion, watching the cricket and AFL (GO LIONS!!!) and travelling – especially cruising.  

if you work, what's your profession? Financial Planner. I get to tell people what to do with their money.

if you could have any job you wish, what would it be? If I could be paid to either read all day or do something to do with the AFL / Cricket I would be in absolute heaven.

something you're good at: I’m really good at writing thesis’ apparently. I got an award at my uni for getting the top mark in my Masters thesis in the country – not just my degree, but of anyone completing the Capstone subject which was pretty cool. But in terms of things I actively have tried to be good at – I know a ridiculous amount about my two favourite sporting teams, despite the fact that I do not play sports and have the hand eye co-ordination of a toddler.

something you hate: I could be mean and say Collingwood supporters… but I won’t. People who are intolerant, or who speak about things as fact when they have no idea about the subject matter. And the people who act surprised when I know things about my favourite sports because I’m a *girl* so how on earth do I know anything?

something you collect: I collect magnet’s – especially of the places I travel to, Brisbane Lions memorabilia (I’m very proud of that collection), and Christmas things – I try to get something new from every place I go or for every thing that is important to me. My Christmas collection gets one new major piece each year at least, and usually a few others as I see fit – my collection literally fills the entirety of my under stair storage and I think has grown to 28 boxes this year (with some of those boxes being almost as big as me!).

something you forget: People’s names. I’m absolutely terrible with them.

what's your love language: I love to find the perfect thing for my loved ones – I’m way more into watching others open gifts / see their reaction to something I’ve planned for them than I am about receiving anything.

favourite movie/show: My current major obsession is TG:M, but I also love Harry Potter (books and movies), Star Wars, Lord of the Rings (books and movies and entire universe), Sherlock, Blue Bloods and Dirty Dancing – but my all time favourite movie is Beaches.

favourite food: Chicken and Broccoli Casserole with rice – I could literally eat this all day every day, but in terms of cuisine – I’m obsessed with Italian – pizza, pasta you name it. Yum!

favourite animal: The Giant Panda. I got to go to Japan and see a baby one and it was one of the greatest moments of my life!!

what were you like as a child: shy, very bookish, super personable once I knew someone, but quite quiet. My mum says I’m an extroverted introvert which is a weird descriptor, but kinda fits.

favourite subject at school: Ancient History and Physics

least favourite subject: Geology

what's your best character trait? I’d like to say I’m super loyal and I think that is my best character trait.

what's your worst character trait? I’m very jugemental and very blunt – a little too blunt sometimes. I have a twin so I joke that I’m the evil twin because it means I get away with more – but I literally told a friend to dump her new boyfriend the day I met him in front of him because of the bad vibes I got from him (I was right, but it took her 18 months and a fractured friendship to discover that).

if you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be? I’d love to see my sister become a mum – she would be amazing as a mum, but it just hasn’t been in the cards for her husband and her and I’d love that to change.

if you could travel in time, who would you like to meet? I’d be fascinated to talk to a young Queen Victoria, or go to when Toklien and C.S. Lewis were part of the Inklings and sit and speak to both them and their compatriots because that would be absolutely fascinating.

Silly little AU in the future where Bradley is tasked with safekeeping an engagement ring for someone -- maybe Nat asks him to keep one for Callie/Bob/Javy because she wants to propose on the group trip sometime in the evening on the beach, or on any of the romantic touristy spots, etc -- and Jake accidentally finds it and makes the wrong conclusion. Because that ring is not for him but he doesn't know that, right?

Maybe he and Bradley got back together a few months ago and it's a bit too early to even think about engagement -- even if secretly Jake wants it so so bad -- and that means Jake freaks

Suddenly he's acting all weird whenever Bradley and him are left alone in the group or totally avoiding them being left alone from the group on any of the outings or any semi-romantic spots their group visits

Which gives Bradley the wrong conclusion. Because, you know, Jake doesn't want to be around him anymore...

(Also, Jake is, despite freaking out, so disappointed when he finds out the truth that Bradley just goes and randomly buys him an engagement ring anyway)

It is so important to me that Maverick inherits Slider after Ice dies.

No, but really.

Maverick is never alone in that big house, suddenly Slider is everywhere. Slider is making him breakfast, making sure he gets to work on time, helping him with the bikes and the Mustang. Slider is always underfoot and eventually, Maverick tells him point blank that it’s okay, that Mav is going to be okay; that he's content to live in the memory of his life with Ice, he accepted his husband was going to pass this way, they talked about it — and then, he realizes…

Slider is a fucking wreck.

“I don't…” Slider admits, with big red-rimmed eyes. “You’re all I've got left of… I met Tommy when I was five.”

It was never about Maverick being okay.

Yeeeessss! Not that I am encouraging you at all to add to your never ending list of WIPs (although I feel like this could be incorporated into the other one).

TG:M / Practical Magic AU

Watched both Twisters and Practical Magic over the weekend, and made the connection with the Owens surname.

Now all I can think about is a roundabout, convoluted AU where Jake Seresin’s mother is Gillian Owens, who got pregnant at 19-20 down in Texas during her wild days, gave the newborn boy to the father because during that time she valued freedom over anything, even family, and the Owens power only passed down to daughters, anyway. Or so she thought.

So here is Jake left to grow up in a straight-laced military, Christian conservative household with a cold, distant dad, years later a spineless stepmom, while dealing with the fact that he knows things are going to happen right before they happen. That his outbursts of teen angst cause the lights to flicker. That when he cries the trees in the yard shed all their leaves. That his anger causes chairs to skirt across the room untouched. That his schoolyard bullies all befall accidents or illness right after they taunt him. He grows up hearing words whispered by the adults around him: Demons. Schizophrenia. Madness. Evil. He doesn’t understand why.

So at 17 he leaves and joins the Navy, finds out he can predict the actions of the opposition with uncanny accuracy, which leads him to climb the ranks quickly, and to receive the dubious honor of being the only active duty aviator with a confirmed air-to-air kill. But years of being shunned/feared by his community and growing up in self-isolation hasn’t done any good for his social skills, which molds the cocky, abrasive Hangman we all know.

Maybe after the Dagger mission- where he knew before anyone else that Mav and Rooster were alive and in trouble, knew exactly when to launch (against orders) to reach them just in time - he begins to understand the value of roots, of family. The Daggers have become his family but maybe he begins to wonder about his mom, which leads him on a quest to some little island on the east coast, where the Owens name is said in hushed tones with awe and reverence.

“Welcome home, baby. Seems we’ve got a lot to talk about.”

This isn’t fair… first we have a Cyclone to deal with and now that it’s getting worse my fav coping mechanism is gone… you better not go back up just as I lose internet or power!
