Skipper may despise Hans for everything that happened between them, but he still has a soft spot for him. He knows this. He knows it weakens him. To know that despite every caution he takes, Hans will always be a blind spot for him. And that's why he hates having Hans around, trying to 'apologize' and 'get close to him'. He knows he'll be hurt again (because that's what they do, that's what they're destined to do) and he can only last so long in his defense. He'd still drop everything just to check up on him had anything happened to Hans. Skipper can't afford that, not after Denmark, not with everything he's built after Hans.
