Hubristic amalgam of human garbage, floating space rocks, cracking bones, the smell of the sea.

“Nostalgia (noun) 1. The unsettling sensation that you are never able to fully access the past; that once you are departed from an event, some essential quality of it is lost forever. 2. A reminder to remember: just because the sharpness of the sadness has faded does not mean that it was not, once, terrible. It means only that time and space, creatures of infinite girth and tenderness, have stepped between the two of you, and they are keeping you safe as you were once unable to.”
― Carmen Maria Machado, In the Dream House

if we pool all our money together do you think we can buy an island where we can enjoy autonomy and control over our own bodies and feel happy and safe and hold hands and build a community centred around love and empathy? Just a thought. I have 8.14$ and I'm good at fibre arts and punching, we could be so warm and safe.
#I'm in canada and my heart is broken for my southern neighbours#if you're lgbtq+ or biopic or have a uterus you're automatically invited on my island you don't need money#in this economy we might be better off just gathering handfuls of dirt and building our own island but idk much about geo/earth science#politics#escape plan

Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I'm not going to make it, but you laugh inside — remembering all the times you've felt that way.

Just a reminder that Vincent van Gogh did not eat yellow paint to make himself feel happy, he ate paint, and drank different chemicals because he was suicidal and this is why he was not allowed in his studio while having breakdowns. He also did not paint starry night and his other great works because he was depressed, he painted most of them while he was in recovery and demonstrated his hopefulness and love of the world through this. Most of his great works were painted from his room at a hospital. Van Gogh’s depression should not be glorified. His hope and effort toward a better life, as well as his recovery from depression should be glorified.
