“Yeah, she’s going to be okay as long she gets her rest-” Barry felt the tears welling in his eyes. “I’m just so used to saving people and this is something I can’t fix.” 

Barry knew that this wasn’t just you that he was trying to save, it was his unborn child, the one person he’d never met but already loved with every atom of his being. 

“She’s going to be okay,” Joe said confidently as he placed his on Barry’s shoulder. “They’re both going to be okay.”

Stress Relief

A/N - It feels good to back!!! This is the first thing I’ve written in about a year, so take it easy on me!

Pairing: Harry Wells (E-2) x Reader

Summary: You and Harry are secretly in a relationship, but not for long.

The past few nights, the team had been working overtime, trying to crack a code that could lead to finding the latest meta that was wreaking havoc throughout Central City. In true Team Flash fashion, some of them had decided to work throughout the night, not willing to take a break until the identity of the meta was discovered. You weren’t officially part of the team, and quite frankly, you were technologically challenged, so you always felt the need to help the team in any way you could. This morning it was making sure they were fed and caffeinated. You carefully balanced a drink tray full of hot coffees and a bag of bagels in one hand and your phone and purse in the other.

You scanned the room to find Cisco and Caitlin asleep at their desks while Harry was still in front of his white board, scribbling away. He let out a deep sigh and roughly ran his fingers through his already messy hair and began erasing what he’d just written. Seeing him this way pained you slightly. He always felt the need to work himself to death and it certainly took a toll on him. You swore to him up and down that one day that stress was going to win, and he’d have a heart attack or something.

“Hey, Harry-” you said softly.

He turned around to see you and his facial expression immediately softened. “(Y/N), hey, what are you doing here?”

You handed him his coffee and placed a kiss on his cheek. “I just finished my shift at the hospital, and figured I’d stop by and bring you guys some coffee.” You turned around to make sure Cisco and Caitlin were still asleep and didn’t see what you’d just done.

“They only fell asleep an hour ago, they’re out,” he hummed as he placed a couple soft kisses to your lips.“Thank you, for the coffee,” he took a sip as he turned back to the board.

“Whoa, whoa,” you said as you grabbed his arm. “How long have you been awake?” You could see the tiredness in his eyes and knew that he hadn’t slept a wink. You were a nurse, it was your job to know these things.

“Don’t worry, (Y/N), I’m fine.” You could tell his wasn’t being completely honest with you.

“How about this, you come home with me, take a quick nap, and you can be back before they even wake up.” You smiled sweetly at him and he knew that he was about to fight an already lost battle. “We’ve both been working all night, I’m exhausted, you look exhausted,” you said only further proving your case.

“I don’t know. I’m so close to cracking this code, I can feel it.” He said as he glanced over the numbers and symbols that only a pure genius could decipher.

You knew in that moment that it would take something really enticing to win him over. “You know, Harry, I sleep naked.” You smiled and lightly bit your lip. His blue eyes widened and color flooded his cheeks. Check mate. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked over at his team mates.

“Fine, but only for a little bit. They’ll wonder where I am.” He put his coffee down and walked over to grab his jacket. He placed his hand on the small of your back as you both walked out of the cortex.

“You’re going to be the death of me, (Y/N),” he smiled down at you.

“No, stress is going to be the death of you,” you teased.

“No, I’m going to be the death of him if I ever have to think about his sex life again,” Cisco whispered to himself as he shivered at the thought and raised his head from the desk. Of course, he was awake when you walked in, his brain immediately switched on at the smell of espresso. “Caitlin, wake up,” he giggled as he shook her awake. “I know a secret,” he sang as he took a sip of a his coffee.
