So below the read more, I’ll see if I can get into it! I don’t have 10 fics published… wow, looking back at this, I really need to stop beta reading fics all the time and get back to my own stories!!!! (I love beta reading but it’s been going on a month since I’ve had an update…) also sorry all I write is sonadow, with one including Mephilver as well

Elusive Butterfly (chapter 2), explicit, Shadow/Sonic

“Come again?” The blue hedgehog squints at his neighbor, an ear flicking to the side in irritation.

“I’ve never heard of anyone living here called Shadow.” Vanillia looks thoughtful. “What a lovely name, though. Sounds mysterious. My daughter has a doll named that, I think.”

Everything Blue (chapter 2) rating: teen+, Shadow/Sonic

Shadow tightens his grip now with bruising force, drawing a wince from his counterpart. He begins making his way down the dock, dragging Sonic behind him, “No. we are leaving. We can go take care of the oil rig when it’s not storming… on a pontoon boat! What were you thinking?”

The blue hedgehog stumbles behind Shadow. He is uncharacteristically quiet. The two stand in front of Amy, clad in her beach wear, as she crosses her arms, “I thought we didn’t have time for games. You two can race later.” She raises an eyebrow.

Elusive Butterfly (chapter 1), rating: explicit, Shadow/Sonic

Sonic didn’t really know what to do with himself when his little brother took off to a grad school across the country. He and Tails had always split the rent and bills evenly. His old neighborhood was way too rich for his blood.

But hey- it’s nice to have a new start. He couldn’t help but hold excitement for that aspect. And while he’s starting this new adventure seemingly alone, he knows he’ll be quick to make new friends… right?

Everything Blue (chapter 1), rating: teen+, Shadow/Sonic

Waiting for Silver to fall asleep shouldn’t have been the hardest part of stopping Sonic from dying. But here Shadow is, on a solo mission from G.U.N. to steal the chrononaut’s time hopping bracers and prevent catastrophe.

He halts and turns around. But when he does, he’s suddenly whipped back into that forsaken surf shop.

Rumours (chapter 6), rating: explict, Shadow/Sonic, Mephiles/Silver

It didn’t take them long to find a room with a bed.

A bed, being the operative phrase here.

“I’ll sleep on the floor,” Shadow announces, closing the door behind him. Sonic immediately let out an agitated huff.

“C’mon dude, I don’t bite.” He thinks, but only for a moment before adding, “Unless you want me to.”

Shadow’s ears pin back and his tail thrashes. That’s pretty cute.

Okay, the rest of my stuff is just Rumours so I will stop there! My good buddy taught me the importance of a zinger with an opening to a fic.

I instantly fell in love with this fic. The concept of Shadow living with Maria but also having been put in status for fifty years is really neat to me. He is very polite, something I don’t often see but wholeheartedly ADORE. (like how he spoke so politely in Sonic X) The meet cute here will go down in history as my very favorite Sonadow meet cute of all time. The front loaded romance and feelings fall seamlessly into action and mystery, then into the classic rivalry we all love to see. I think it is also rare to see a fic where the dynamics happen in this order. Love love love

Recently they started sharing their art and even has some for this AU on their page! I am enamored by it.

playlist I made inspired by this fic

Okay, this fic also grabbed me because it combines Dungeons and Dragons/JRPG styled lore with Sonic characters. Beautifully so. The lore is captivating and really keeps you guessing. There’s a lot of parallels to StH lore but also a lot of original content. 

This fic is 200k words in with Sonic and Shadow still HATING each other. The world building is so good you won’t even think (much) about that, and the moments they do have are extremely tension filled and action packed. The mind linking to feel empathy for each other, forcibly? I will take 20. ALSO Rouge is extra fun in this. I just love her as a cool ass witch, such a badass. 

I really can’t go on too much, it’s just like… an amazing novel, seriously. The chaos emeralds are SWORDS, its SICK!!!!

“After a tragic accident, Sonic, only 6 years old, was left to wander the wrecked streets of what was once his home. He was found by Dr. Eggman, who took him in. Although Sonic never really viewed him as a father, they were still family in a way. Growing up, Sonic would often run away from home and cause trouble in the city, giving him a bad reputation and causing G.U.N. to start hunting him down. Shadow was 8 when G.U.N. invaded the ARK and killed everyone involved with Project Shadow. Maria sent him down to Earth before she was killed, and Shadow was taken in soon after, the commander deciding it a waste to kill him in the end. Shadow’s memories of the event were fuzzy, so over time, he eventually gave up trying to remember, instead focusing on his training alongside Rouge. Shadow has now been tasked with taking Sonic down and bringing him in for containment. Though, it isn’t as simple as he had thought. Sonic’s speed and strength rival his own, and his actions are erratic, unpredictable. At first, Sonic seems like nothing more than a complete adrenaline junkie. But as Shadow digs deeper, he starts to see there’s more to Sonic than just reckless energy—layers of complexity he hadn’t expected.”

This AU is one of the most unique concepts I have seen for Sonic as a villain. He is so very in character to me- as a green hedgehog said in a non canonical comic once: “You are only one bad day away from being me! (a total loser)”

The tension between Sonic and Shadow in this is CHEF KISS, but the highlight for me is Sonic and how he navigates the world around him as someone who had the worst support system growing up. If you ever ordered depressed!Sonic, your package is here. 

Shadow is also so smart here, which isn’t uncommon in Sonadow fics, but he takes it to the next level often. Mister Secret Agent Man.
