The fairy and the giant (Part 4)
FINCH POV:
-That’s alright … thanks - Lavender responded anxiously, with her eyes glued to the floor. Finch needed to take a moment to process what the little fairy revealed. She had been abandoned, to fend for herself. A terrifying anger began to creep inside of him.
Why would anyone do that?!
Why would anyone leave her on her own?!
Alone.
Many magical creatures were dangerous … including him.
Of course he would never do anything that could hurt her. Not consciously. Still, he wanted to make those responsible pay. While the idea enticed Finch, it also horrified him. Unfortunately, he knew of what he was capable of. His neck started to ache, and his new beard started to get itchy, yet he wasn’t going to change his position even if his life depended on it. Lavender stood in silence, and the giant now realized, unlike the first time they’ met, she could now make eye contact without fainting. Sure, her fingers fidgeted awkwardly, but at least they could have somewhat of a normal conversation. He had so many questions. His heart ached at the thought of her broken wing and its mysterious cause. Perhaps…
-Well, uhm…, keep in mind you can deny my offer. - He trailed gingerly. Her beautiful features showed a curiosity that Finch desperately hoped it would overcome her fear.
-I’d like … t-to get to know you b-better. - Little eyebrows raised in shock. Seconds felt like an eternity. - Y-you know… I-I’d like to be … f-friends. - There, he said it. He cleared his throat, making sure not to raise his tone. Lavender looked like she’d seen a ghost. And it had stolen her tongue in the process.
He felt a bitter taste. “Just shut up already!”, alas Finch ignored his brain. - A-and in return … I c-could help you in any way I c-can. –
“I can protect you.
I can keep you safe.”
Still, he kept his desires at bay. Besides scaring her, the last thing he wanted was to offend her. Fragile or not, she had survived this long despite her unfavorable circumstances.
-… why? - a knot the size of a huge rock tumbled down his throat. He had recognized terror, panic, fear, discomfort and even anger all in the short time they’d met. Despite how much it hurt him, he understood. But what Finch couldn’t understand is why the little fairy seemed … sad, so sad and confused.
‘Oh no no no’ had he upset her? Did the mere idea of becoming friends disgusted her so much that it made her want to cry?’ Then again, he had to remember that he looked like a gargantuan beast to her. For the love of earth, he wanted to scratch his beard so badly now. He swallowed, unaware of the obvious movement of his Adam’s apple. Still, the knot remained there, painful and piercing. He turned his head, now he was the one anxiously avoiding her gaze. That, for some reason, lingered with intensity.
-I-I mean … - Lavender found her voice once again. Shaky, yet sweet. - Blue eyes found their way again to her with caution. He didn’t want her to think that he was insulted. - Why would you … want to befriend s-someone so … s-small … in c-comparison?
LAVENDER POV:
His bushy eyebrows rose slowly, as if he came to an understanding of my reasoning. I’m not sure why, I found myself looking at his beard. Huh, I wonder how he would look without it. Sudden vibrations brought me back and I noticed he simply cleared his throat yet again, selecting his words. … why? … why was he so wary around me?
It seemed as if …
He genuinely cared about my perception of him.
-W-well … it’s me who’s obnoxiously huge, heh -
His defeated chuckle removed some locks of hair out of my face, and I felt goosebumps all over my skin. Despite it being booming, it made my body tingle in a pleasant way … huh.
-… Listen, I know my … stature can be … a lot. – Oh, buddy it´s way more than a lot. I couldn’t help but laugh at that statement. Strangely enough, he smiled softly.
-Alright, let’s do it then. – I don´t know what brought me to accept his bizarre offer. My rapidly beating heart was a clear reminder that my fear persisted. Though, there was an unknown part of me that defied my common sense.
I didn´t want to be afraid.
Or at least, I didn´t want to be paralyzed by it
Maybe pretending to be human also made me foolish.
-W-wait … REALLY!? – Involuntarily I covered my ears as his volume amplified.
“Run” Ah, there it was again. Well, at least I still had some sanity left.
-O-oh I’m so so sorry. – His deep voice pleaded in a loud whisper. He slowly raised his head in order to cover his mouth in shame.
I had to take an instance to contemplate my situation. Now, I had to look up at this behemoth of a man, a man that had just carried tons with an absurd ease and painstakingly reallocated a literal mountain so it wouldn´t “bother” me. A man that could effortlessly step on my home if he pleased. And yet, he positioned himself smaller or at least tried to. If it were me, I would’ve sat up by now. Finch was truly impressive, not only his size, but he was also … kindhearted.
Nevertheless, I had to stay inside the walls I’ve built up for a reason.
FINCH POV:
-Under one condition.  – Lavender instructed with an odd tranquility. Her velvet voice made Finch unhinged. “Anything” the giant man couldn’t even begin to wrap his head around how happy he was. He wanted to giggle like an idiot and jump with joy. Still, he focused on mentally handcuffing himself. – Of course, anything you need. – he agreed with a tender smile. His chin slowly met the ground again.
-You won’t touch me. – His chest tightened. Needless to say, he would never do anything to hurt her or make her feel uncomfortable. The mental image of Charlie appeared. He reminisced on his skittish laughter. The frail little boy loved the idea of having a giant best friend that could take him anywhere. “C’mon Finch, higher!” The tiny human cheered as he used his fingers as climbing bars while the giant placed his free hand as a safety net. Sure, he was 15 feet shorter give or take and thus, less overwhelming. Undoubtedly, they were different individuals, with vastly different personalities. This was Lavender, the enigmatic fairy. The reserved, cautious and exhilaratingly beautiful woman.
The woman that had Finch wrapped around her pinky finger.
-I promise. – With excruciating care, he picked up the end of what looked like a twig between his index and thumb. A flash of panic manifested on the fairy’s features, yet she remained still as the other end of the stick shortened the distance between them. When it stopped, Lavender couldn’t avoid showing her confusion.
-T-to seal the deal. – He explained while feeling so dumb.
-O-oh. – Finch could’ve sworn he saw the smallest smile of relief.
His heart swelled as a tiny hand grabbed the stick on the weirdest attempt at a handshake. A warmth caressed his skin. Though, he wasn’t quite sure if it was the sun rays or because he was beaming. As Lavender removed her hand, he slowly did the same. Unconsciously, he scratched his chin as he enjoyed the sweet sent of the forest. – So, is there anything you might need assistance with? – Finch offered. The little woman seemed to be contemplating. Her eyelashes were batting in concentration as she switched her weight to her other leg.
-Well, I doubt you can fix broken plates. - She sassed as she crossed her arms in accusation.
-So no, I appreciate your proposal. But I don’t need help with anything at the moment.
Finch begged to differ as his gaze studied her cabin. The roof had a thick layer of dirt that in no way, shape or form Lavender could reach to remove it without putting herself in danger. “Note to self: the fairy is not only reserved and cautious, but stubborn as well.”
He felt rightfully ashamed for unknowingly breaking her stuff, so he opted to not press on the subject. Finch was about to apologize for the tenth time when those olive eyes left him speechless.
-… Do you need … help with something? – She pondered with an awkward pacing.
A slow, stupid smile appeared on his face. He couldn’t avoid finding her adorable.
No one had ever asked him that.
-Well … uhm, I don’t suppose you have any magic that could get rid of this, right? – Finch inquired while passing his fingers through his beard, that stupid grin still plastered.
She took a bit to respond as she ruminated for a solution. -Hmm… Oh I may have something! – The giant man lit up as he noticed the shift on her tone. She seemed … excited?
-I’m gonna change clothes and help you out, ok? Just give me twenty minutes – She could take more than a day, and Finch would wait patiently for her. – Take your time. – The little woman retreated, confidence on her stride. And before she entered her cottage Finch blurted out.
-Hey Lavender? – Her head turned back as she tilted her glance upwards. The wind danced along strands of her hair. He sighed, and Finch wasn’t sure why, but he felt something long forgotten.
-Yes?
He felt hope.
-Thank you …

I wanted to draw more of their first meeting :D (Also, this is random, but if this man were to sing the only thing that came to my mind was the song Evermore from the Beauty and the Beast live action and I had to put it out there lol)

The fairy and the giant (Part 3)
LAVENDER POV:
A couple of days had passed by since the … incident. I lamely ran as fast as I could back to my cabin, my lungs burned with every desperate breath and every limb ached. Even my feet ended up bruised since I was barefoot. It was a cynical reminder that my body wasn’t meant for such simple human action.
I missed flying.
When did I become a shell of myself?
When I arrived, I inevitably puked my non-existing dinner from last night.
The area of my cabin was truly a sight to behold; an immense pile of rocks and dirt were lying where the mountain used to be creating a smaller hill in its place. Huh … I guess he was the mountain.
That supposition itself made my stomach churn upside down. A huge deep dispersion field surrounded the inside, to the point I couldn’t see where it ended. It’s a miracle my house didn’t suffer many repercussions from the earthquake. Except from chunks of dirt and rocks that ended up on the shingles and two broken windows, yet when I entered, I realized …
My new plates were shattered!
That oversized jerk!
After a much needed bath I begrudgingly ate sliced fruit with honey, using a wooden bowl I poorly carved myself a while back. Now with food on my stomach I carefully placed the lopsided bowl on the table. My gaze fixated on the apples. The inevitable thought finally entered my thick skull.
Just how much food would be required to satisfy someone his size?
He seemed gentle… at the moment.
Hypothetically, my cabin alone would barely count as a meal, with great emphasis on BARELY.
… I almost returned my breakfast
If I were human, perhaps I could move out elsewhere, far away from the magical forest and forget about the existence of giants. However, the unconscious flutter of my wings brought me back to reality.
I don’t have anywhere else to go.
Swiftly, I dove myself in the usual chores, yes it looked like I lived near an avalanche and that my home had suffered the consequences, but that didn’t mean the inside had to look as chaotic. Besides, it soothed me to distract myself from the behemoth that wandered close by. Since, of course, he returned. That aligned with my terrible luck. Though, because he hadn’t even touched my cabin I pretended as if nothing had happened … or at least tried to.
Usually, I tend to my plants and crops (that were protected with the few magic I had left) and anxiously clean absolutely everything on my cabin, I also picked up knitting and confecting clothes as a hobby ever since I moved here. I figured I had to wear more human-like clothes when I needed to go to the village. However, my mind still drifted …
That night … how long was I out for? Did he … catch me when I fainted? And despite how hard it seemed to believe, the weirdest thing is that … he hadn’t hurt me.
Genuinely I don´t know why, but I couldn’t stop thinking about his eyes, as well as his … arms and torso. Male fairies were extremely scarce and very thin looking. So that must be it, I memorized them purely by shock. Every hill of skin filled with such raw strength and power, his sheer size was overwhelming and intimidating just by existing. In my long live I´d never met someone so … burly, yeah that´s the word. Though I couldn’t pinpoint exactly why I felt strangely warm when I thought about it.
My mind decided that it was better for my mental health not to trail or ponder on what actually happened while I was unconscious. I wish I could say my life went back to the regular monotony I had grown used to. But of course, that didn´t occur.
Every night, the constant vibrations of giant steps wouldn’t allow me to sleep. And every night, my imagination ran wild, I wanted to get out there and ask him why the hell was he awake so late with bravery I doubted I possessed. Of course I’d never do that, I was obviously still terrified of him. Despite his best efforts to convince me otherwise.
Through my window, I was able to get a glimpse of him while crouching. Bulging arms were carrying an absurd amount of rocks with such ease and transporting them miles away. I couldn’t summon the courage to see him stand up, yet I assumed he was walking away by the obvious tremors. He seemed entranced on his chore, as if he analyzed every one of his movements beforehand. His dark brown locks seemed to be put in a short ponytail on bottom of his head … and his eyes were fixated at the ground as his dark long eyelashes battered in concentration as he carried literal tons.
What on Earth was he doing?!
Forcing my eyes shut, I tugged my blanket while rolling over to the other side of the bed. And finally, I was able to fall asleep.
...
Darkness.
An unknown source was squeezing all the air out of my lungs.
I wriggled desperately.
I could hear my own muffled voice pleading in the distance, to no one in particular. And a rumbling sadistic laughter invaded my senses. Only leaving behind a high-pitched sound on my ears.
I wriggled again with all my strength but to no avail. When the worst pain I had ever experienced in my entire life drowned me.
Yelling sporadically, I awoke in a cold sweat. It took a moment to regain my breath. I passed my shaking hands through my hair to remove it from my wet forehead. The sunrise arrived at my window gently. Yet my bed still trembled as well as every furniture and shelfs. Causing some jars to fall and break with each step of that brute.
That’s it!
Without a second thought, I stepped out of my cabin, while tugging my nightgown closer. His enormous back turned, sitting on the dispersion field, it seemed as if he was working with the earth as usual.
Up until then I hadn’t realized he was SHIRTLESS (though his poor shirt didn’t cover much to begin with) thanks to creeping daylight I could see each and every one of his back muscles breathing while elevating towards the sky.
I realized that I’ll never get used to the fact that something so enormous could even exist. He could easily crush me with pathetic ease, and despite that, he hadn’t even attempted to get near me ever since that day at the lake. And that’s why I oddly felt confident enough for my next decision.
- “Hey you!”
FINCH POV:
An angry peep emerged from below. ‘Shit… had he disturbed her?’ Finch wondered anxiously. He could’ve sworn he was being as quiet as possible. But of course, someone his size couldn’t afford the luxury of being discreet. A morning breeze arrived as he gently turned his head towards the little fairy. ‘No sudden movements’ he had to remind himself, Finch didn’t want to scare her even more. It took a couple seconds for his gaze to meet hers. There she was, in all her lithe beauty.
At this height, he couldn’t decipher her features completely and yet he was able to understand that she seemed mad. - Uh … hello-
With a sudden courage, Finch was met with an unexpected response.
-What the hell are you doing?! - Lavender blurted furiously.
Well, it appeared the little thing could be brave. Though he took it as a pleasant surprise, not the fact that she was clearly upset. But that she felt confident enough to express that anger to Finch, instead of hiding it in order to appease him, that had to mean something … right?
The giant man felt the need to lower himself closer to her. It only seemed like the respectful thing to do. With excruciating care, Finch adjusted his position just like the last time. He loved being able to fully observe her again. He wouldn’t admit it, but he missed the little fairy.
-U-um - he shifted uncomfortably while she stood rooted.
-I don’t know about you. But I care deeply about my sleep. - Lavender fumed. Now being at the same level, Finch was able to recognize the subtle eye bags on her face. And so, he felt guilty yet again.
He was at a lack of words; those sharp olive eyes were glued on to his. Fueled by frustration, this woman was confronting a being a thousand times her size. It was enthralling.
-Do you know what I haven’t been able to do recently? - She pondered sarcastically.
-… sleep? - Finch obliged.
-Sleep! - Lavender bawled as she moved her fingers through her head in exasperation.
-I-see … I’m truly sorry … again. - He blurted anxiously, why couldn’t he do anything right?
He even took the deliberate decision to gradually move the rocks in a span of days since he didn´t trust himself in not crushing her house completely.
-Do tell, what have you been doing that has cost me my furniture as well as my peace? - she asked while crossing her arms. She looked extremely delicate. Yet, her stern expression made a knot on Finch’s throat. Huh, what an amusing irony.
-I … I have been cleaning the mess I made when I emerged - He admitted while feeling so pathetic. Besides, since he had to stick close by Finch concluded it was the best choice for both of them. His arms began to cramp.
-… W-what? - After a couple of eternal seconds, the fairy blurted in confusion. It seemed as if his confession caused Lavender to lose her footing for an instant before recovering her stance. He wouldn’t mind catching her if she were to fall again, reminiscing about the ghost of her presence left on his hand. How her entire body fitted perfectly on his palm. However, an incessant voice berated him for such train of thought.
-Y-yeah … I wanted to reallocate the rocks and dirt elsewhere so it wouldn’t bother you. - Finch proceeded with a nervous short laugh - but I guess I ended up doing just that, huh? S-sorry …
LAVENDER POV:
His features showed genuine regret as usual, as he raised his very naked shoulders in defeat.
As my anger slowly dissipated, my fear took a turn with control. My legs felt like jelly, and my heart rate skyrocketed. I basically threw a fit in front of humongous dangerous creature. And here I was, poking it with a stick. Since running away was never an option, and it seemed as if he didn’t plan on moving away either. The options were clear; I needed to be on good terms with him. If he liked me … the less likely he would change his mind about what to do with me. I doubted someone so huge could consider smaller beings as anything but potential playthings. Hence, the term “friends” was out of the question. Hell, I don’t want to be his friend. I don’t even think he would see me as his equal. I just wanted to live the rest of my sad life in peace.
As I was stuck weighing my choices, the g-Finch shifted slightly, causing subtle tremors around him. Which brought me back to my awkward reality.
-I don’t mean to disturb you or be disrespectful, but … why is a fairy like yourself … living alone?
His rich deep voice rattled me to my core. And the fact that I couldn´t stop thing about how close his huge arms were didn´t help my critical thinking. I guess I should’ve been more careful. But I never expected to encounter anyone on the night of the earthquake. Of course I wasn’t hiding my wings.
-W-what do you mean? - Perhaps playing dumb would get him to drop the topic and forget about it..
-Well … um from what I’ve heard, fairies live in colonies, no? - Finch wondered with no malice in his words. Perhaps it was all a facade, or maybe his patience had a limit. I should definitely respond if I want him to tolerate me.
-Ah, you’d be correct. - My jaw clenched on a forced smile. - But only fairies who are of any use to the colony are welcome. - it seemed as if my answer shocked him … wait … was he mad at me?! His expression regained composure once again, as if he had lost control just for a second.
-So … they just … left you on your own? - Finch pondered, it seemed as if he was carefully choosing his words. And his soft expression filled with worry seemed … sweet … why did he care? … I felt so odd, I held my arms in a defeated response.
-Vanished actually haha- why was I laughing?! - Fairies who can’t fly are only seen as a liability. - My wings once again fluttered for a moment. Perhaps desperate to prove they could still serve a purpose. Finch lowered his head even more, I couldn’t help but imagine how uncomfortable that position would get, but he didn’t seem to mind. He always seemed to be patient and careful, I’m not sure why. Huh, I guess ever since he appeared I didn’t know anything.
-… I know I should’ve said this before but uhm - he grunted nervously. - I’m truly so sorry for barging into your life like this. I had no idea someone was living so close to my mountain. - His kind eyes landed on the grass in embarrassment. - A-and for what is worth … uhm … I d-doubt you could be a liability to anyone. - A warmth surrounded my cheeks instantly. Suddenly, I began to feel a bit self-conscious about my weary appearance.
All these unknown emotions were making my head spin.
My whole existence I’ve known fear.
But this feeling …
I have no fucking clue what this is.

Hi! I wanted to thank everyone who's reading my story. It was gathering dust on my notes app lol. Since I mainly wrote it for myself cause I didn't think it was good enough to share with anyone (I'm a perfeccionist). Anyways, I'm not a writer but I know how to draw, so here are my babies :)

The fairy and the giant (Part 2)
“No no no! Is she dead?!” That was Finch’s first thought as he caught her. “I killed her!” He felt even more monstrous than ever, especially noticing that she easily fitted on his palm with room to spare. He knew humans were small, but he could’ve sworn they weren’t this tiny before. Finch sighed, he was getting the fairy dirty just by holding her. He had never felt so ashamed. Yet, as he detected the tiniest movement of her raising chest, he felt so relieved.
Yeah, he scared the crap out of her. But she was still breathing.
Night had already fallen, and he was well aware that smaller beings tended to get cold rather easily.
The giant man had no clue what the best thing was to do in this situation, so he opted to analyze the delicate creature on his palm. His mind was full of questions, if she was so scared, why didn’t she just fly away? He knew that he could’ve effortlessly caught her, and the mere thought made Finch shiver.
He admired her full lips as well as her beautiful black lashes. The fact that he could admit to himself that he found her attractive made him so repulsed of his persona, leaving a bitter taste on his throat. Taking into consideration that she most likely thought of him to be a savage beast. He scanned her wings once again, and that’s when his stomach dropped.
She had a broken wing.
That’s why she couldn’t escape from the beginning. Finch couldn’t help but feel mortified, mentally hitting himself for forgetting to lower his voice on the first place.
With utmost care, he lay down the weightless woman on the grass. She hadn’t shown any signs of gaining consciousness back soon, so Finch shouldered he could finally stand up to stretch.
He took a couple steps back.
His legs felt so foreign to him as he placed his weight on his soles once again. All his limbs felt rusty as he slowly raised himself. Finch would never get used to his surroundings shrink even more around him when he reached his new height.
The night sky was truly precious; he admired the stars as old friends. Then he stretched his arms and cracked his fingers and neck with thrill. Suddenly, he realized how much his body had actually changed during hibernation. His shirt was tattered and surprisingly still clinging to his torso. Pants ended on his shins. Even his arms felt bigger, he could’ve sworn he gained more mass practically everywhere. Finch raised his hand and was met a new beard that wasn’t there when he fell into deep slumber. He had fully transitioned from a teenager to a young adult, which also meant he was also taller than before. Though he couldn’t grasp exactly how much, the giant estimated he was probably around 70 feet tall now. Finch replayed images of the fairy’s glare in his mind, she looked so horrified. Why wouldn’t she? He definitely looked even more intimidating than ever.
His blue eyes found her all the way down lying peacefully on the ground.
-“… so tiny” - Finch sighed slowly in astonishment, he couldn’t help finding her adorable.
He felt a strange sense of protectiveness towards this creature he absolutely knew nothing about. Annoyed at himself since now he had to get used to his new size and strength. If he were human, he could easily carry her and place her safely in her warm home. But of course, that wasn’t remotely posible for him. What should he do? He couldn’t leave her out in the open! Not because of predators, Finch knew his earthquake warned every potentially dangerous animal of his presence, he just didn’t want her to freeze.
Nothing would hurt her.
Not while he was around.
-
Faded memories of giant hands pulling every limb, torturing me flashed by. That hideous booming laughter pierced my ears. I shrieked loudly; the echoes of the pain still haunted me in my dreams. Rapidly my eyes opened wide, waking up in a cold sweat, and I was met with the most bizarre of circumstances. I found myself near the great lake, the birds chirped like usual amongst the bright sky and was the giant … bathing himself?
Was I still dreaming?
Huh, what a strange nightmare.
As strong hands rubbed the dirt off himself, he gradually began to look more humanoid, at least his face, as it appeared he was sitting down with his immense back lowered as the mountain of muscle that he was. Still towering over me, immense splashes of water accompanied his movements. That lake had to be around 35 feet deep, just how freaking big was he?!
And why the hell was I here?!
I couldn’t get distracted, that didn’t matter right now. I needed to sneak away.
I prepared myself to slowly stand up, he seemed rather fixed on cleaning himself. Strands of his now wet hair were sticking on his forehead, and without the dirt covering him he seemed less … scary. I couldn’t avoid being transfixed in some odd way by this man as I took a step back. Regaining my train of thought once I stepped on some dry leaves. Causing him to immediately turn to where I was … there’s no way he actually heard me! I froze once again when our eyes met. Why did I always turn into a stupid statue when I desperately needed to run?!
The giant’s face was painted with shock and … embarrassment? I could’ve sworn I saw him blush.
-Uhm … - he cleared his throat, startling me. - I-I’m sorry, I swear … I don’t want to scare you. You j-just passed out and I-I didn’t want you to freeze last night, b-because of me … - he mumbled under his breath while anxiously passing a hand through his hair. It was such a vast contrast to hear a voice so deep sound so … nervous. - N-nevertheless … I apologize for g-grabbing … you.
Wait
Did he say grabbed me?!
That meant … his hands. Just then I realized the sides of my arms and legs were slightly covered in dirt and I just knew my backside was in the same condition.
I was on his palm … he could’ve done anything! … w-why … didn’t he?!
Before my mind began to spiral, I was able to detain myself and focus. Through this sight, he could easily pass as a regular human adult just washing himself, if not for the trees surrounding the lake that looked like shrubs in comparison.
It was quite an ironic moment to take in as the giant man seemed even more frightened than I was (the man that held my entire being on his freaking hand!) waiting patiently for my response.
Involuntarily, my gaze shifted towards his lower body, up until then I hadn’t realized he was fully naked. To my relief, the water covered the necessary body parts. As if he had read my mind, he rapidly covered his torso with a tint on red on his cheeks which only made his muscular arms appear bigger. Huh … he really embarrassed? Reading expressions was never my strongest suit, but this guy apparently was an open book.
-Lavender - I blurted without a second thought.
Still immobile, he furrowed his bushy eyebrows in confusion.
-E-excuse me? - he inquired, while still not moving from his current position. --.You asked for my name … - I bluntly justified. Gathering the last thing I remembered before I fainted. - Fairies rarely reveal their names to other beings. - My shaky voice continued while trying pathetically to sound firm. -T-take it as a token of my gratitude … for s-sparring my life. - My eyes were planted on the ground and my legs felt so wobbly while I awaited an answer as I dangerously brought up the dreaded topic.
Hoping he wouldn’t change his mind.
-
The only thing Finch wanted to do at that moment was to repeatedly bang his head on the nearest cliff. Nausea invaded his senses as his head started aching in remorse. He felt rather conflicted with himself. A strange sense of excitement appeared, yet Finch couldn’t get past the obvious fact. She only shared her name with him because she genuinely thought he was gonna hurt her.
And yet, as he mentally repeated her name, he couldn’t help being even more mesmerized.
He took I deep breath realizing gaining her trust was going to take time, and he didn’t mind constantly having to prove her that he had no I’ll will. Perhaps, being half naked wasn’t starting exactly with the right foot. Thanking the water below for covering his lower half. He still felt extremely embarrassed. Finch had obviously miscalculated when she was going to wake up! Feeling like such an idiot for putting this poor woman in an extremely awkward situation. He just couldn’t stand the feeling of being covered in dirt anymore.
Lavender took a step back, most likely taking his silence as “permission” to leave. He felt disgusted, hating his body. Finch never asked to be this huge behemoth.
-I-I’m Finch … it’s … a pleasure to meet you. - he managed to slowly blubber.
The woman stared at him in confusion. He wasn’t quite sure, but it appeared she seemed just a little bit less scared?  At least, that’s what he desperately hoped for. The man could’ve get lost in those precious eyes if given the chance. With the sunlight Finch discovered they were a lovely shade of olive.
-I need to get going. - the little thing explained bluntly with a sudden gained confidence.
Sorrow invaded his senses. Who wouldn’t run away from a giant? Especially a naked one. It was clear that he couldn’t take her back to her cabin without having to get out of the pond. He didn’t want to be the cause of her fainting again! Finch miserably wanted to make it up to the little fairy. Though, how could he do that if his mere existence caused her to pass out?!
…
And who would blame her?
Perhaps it was better to just leave her alone.
-O-of course … - Lavender backed away even further. - I-if it’s worth anything, you didn’t need to share your name. - he let out a sigh- I don’t mean any harm. As impossible as it may seem. - he gestured to himself with his head and a warm smile appeared on his features.
Thus, the fairy disappeared, swallowed by the forest. Through his acute hearing, Finch knew how desperately Lavender began to sprint, he could even sense her scared little heartbeat. Gradually, her tiny steps lowered even further. Despite his… terrible first impression, he wanted to see her again. Still, he cringed as he remembered how closely he had emerged from Lavender’s house.
He had to go back.

The fairy and the giant (Part 1)
The cold wind violently tossed strands of my hair as my nightgown danced chaotically. My mind was screeching. There it was. Its whole sunset shadow enveloped me along with my tiny cabin as easily as if it were a mere anthill. The earth howled and cracked, sending rocks and rubble flying in all directions. And despite this, I could hear my bones rattling through enormous gusts of wind. I desperately wanted to run, fly even, though I knew my cracked wing wouldn’t save me this time. My body trembled, like a little fragile leaf. It’s huge bulging arms shifted causing the ground to shake insatiably, much to my surprise, my ass didn’t land on the ground.
I suppose I should have predicted this conundrum. The forest creatures switching erratically from their usual location, the strange but subtle tremors around the mountains near the cabin, hell, even the air felt slightly different for weeks. As if the forest itself was preparing to inhabit an enormous presence.
Huge blue orbs were glued on to me, blinking slowly, almost waiting to see if I’d react. It felt as if time slowed down as my gaze studied this … creature that was above me. Its head tilted with curiosity.
The tremors resumed stronger this time breaking my focus from the entity. I realized soon enough that it was shifting its position, as I felt the knot in my throat growing tighter by the second. Through the vibrations I stiffly noticed that it was lowering itself down closer to the ground… closer to me.
“Run.” I internally screamed. My thoughts were travelling at the speed of light, and that was the only one I could grasp.
I never expected my life to end like this. I just went yesterday to the market at the human town nearby. It took me weeks, but I finally had enough money to buy some cute plates. It´s sad really, I never got to use them.
An earthquake caused me to leave the not so stable ground for an instant. And then, its head landed on the ground. In that moment I understood that the huge gusts of wind, were its breathing. Ironically enough, they provided me with warmth I desperately needed.
As it descended with ease and speed an animal it size shouldn’t logically have. I had to use an absurd amount of focus to not faint, surely, it just wanted to study its prey. Perhaps even toy with it, though I wasn’t entirely sure if a withered fairy would even count as a snack for this… whatever it was.
“Run.” My mind kept ordering the rest of my body. It was a rather simple order.
At this level, I could finally analyze this imposing being, it was blinking slowly. My anxiety ran wildly as those huge orbs cautiously observed my every gesture with an odd tranquility. My wings fluttered for a second out of instinct, only creating more unwanted attention.
“For the love of earth, please run!”. My logic begged my shaking legs, but to no avail. I was paralyzed.
If it decided to toy with me before devouring me, I concluded that the only possible option was to find out what creature was going to end with my mediocre excuse of a life.
A fairy with a broken wing, pretending to be something she’s not.
Covered in dirt, from the mountains it emerged from. It had what I could only assume was dark hair, a beard covering a strong jaw, olive skin, a stretched out tattered … shirt? those huge eyes that wouldn’t break contact with me… as if… I was the first thing it was seeing after emerging, tree trunk like fingers that were between its chin and the ground.
It was a giant.
A male one.
And I was his whole center of attention.
My body was still stubbornly not moving an inch, but I felt a single teardrop falling on my cheek, as I accepted my fate. His curious expression slightly changed, but I couldn’t pinpoint exactly to what.
Why wasn’t he doing anything other than looking at me?!
I was well aware that humans were naturally cruel, that’s the whole reason I shifted my size to try and blend in.  But this … man was no human, his head was taller than my whole body. Hell, I bet I was even shorter than his nose. My brain couldn’t even begin to grasp how absurdly tiny I must look from his perspective, even though I wasn’t even on my regular form.
Back in my original size I had the … misfortune of encountering humans. They were huge, imposing and of course, absolutely terrifying. But this … being, his presence alone was overwhelming in a level my head couldn’t wrap itself around it. I never knew this extension of fear. My heart was pounding erratically, and I couldn’t keep the pace.
I gulped, shut my eyes and waited for anything to happen while I desperately tried to keep my head from spinning, suddenly I felt a new gust of wind to my left. And then something … leathery touched me.
Wiping my tears away…
My entire vision field was his, while his enormous finger was excruciatingly slowly lifting my chin.
Why were his eyes filled with worry?
-
Finch groggily emerged from his mountain. His skin was immediately met with the warmth of a setting sun. He missed that, as well as soaking his body on the lake nearby, being the only body of water he could use as a bath. He recognized he definitely needed one now, being covered in dirt and all. As he woke up from his usual hibernation, he wasn’t entirely aware how many years had passed this time around. However, he was subconsciously calm knowing that no human on their right mind would settle this close to the magical forest.
Yet, as his gaze was getting used to the long-forgotten light, he slowly focused on a tiny figure below him. When his view finally adjusted, he immediately became petrified.
He caught a glimpse of a cute tiny house and felt a huge wave of relief knowing that he didn’t accidentally crush it by waking up. However, when he scanned the area closer, he saw her.
A tiny. Tiny. Diminutive woman.
Staring right at him in terror.
Finch recognized her expression immediately. She was frozen in fear. Of course she was, he probably looked monstrous from her perspective, a monster covered in dirt. But why in the world was someone so small this near to the mountain range? His heart crushed at the sight, but he managed to maintain a calm expression in a pathetic attempt to look harmless.
He couldn’t even begin to fathom the tiny woman’s reaction if he were to stand up, this was one of those times he desperately wished he was smaller. He deduced the best option was to lower himself, and hopefully Finch could make her understand he absolutely meant no harm. Perhaps, they could even become friends in the future?
… who was he kidding? On his whole long, lonely life he had only met one human who was bold enough to give him a chance. He sulked for a second as he realized Charlie had probably passed away during his hibernation. Humans were so delicate and fascinating, but compared to a giant like Finch, they only lived for a blink of an eye.
As he painstakingly shifted his arms to lower his head on the ground, he heard the delicate sound of fluttering for an instant. His expression remained calm, yet curiousness slowly appeared on his features.
This woman was no human either. But a breathtakingly beautiful fairy.
It boggled his mind to be able to witness a fairy for the first time. From what he knew, fairies were shockingly smaller than humans, which seemed impossible. Through his perspective he conceived they probably would be the size of a firefly. So why was this fairy human-sized?
Pupils dilated, Finch observed the precious creature in front of him. Her resting translucent wings looked absolutely lovely, reflecting hues of pink and green of the remaining sunlight. Her long light brown curls captivated the mountain giant as they danced along the light fabric of her white dress. Framing a soft face, her gold olive eyes were painted with dread.
For an instant, Finch had forgotten that his mere presence caused the woman to tremble in horror as his heart proceeded to gradually ache with remorse. She looked so pale, and most likely about to pass out. Yet, when the little thing closed her eyes shut, he noticed a small tear falling along her cheek, his guilt couldn’t take it anymore, it was heartbreaking. It took an immense amount of strength to restrain himself from crying.
His whole life he had to suppress his emotions to coexist with other creatures, it had to be second nature for him.
And despite that, he unconsciously began to reach towards her…
- P-PLEASE … DON’T CRY …
-
The giant’s voice boomed, he croaked gruffly as if he hadn’t used his vocal cords in a long, long time. The strong vibrations and immense volume caused me to instinctively cover my ears. My mind started racing even more.
Giants could talk?! I genuinely believed they were too brute to have speech ability.
Up until this moment, I’d never encountered one, thus I was clearly unaware about the fact these creatures emerged from the freaking earth! I was almost certain their race had gone extinct. Probably because they couldn’t sustain themselves from such smaller animals. However, my knowledge of them was extremely limited.
A guttural deep voice caught my attention once again as I trembled with more intensity.
- I’m so so sorry … please don’t be …. scared. - The immense man begged in a whisper, though it still reverberated. Slowly, he retracted his hand from my body.
Why was he apologizing?
I remained frozen and I began to feel even more dizzy while my heart was beating like crazy.
Was this some type of psychological torture giants applied before devouring their prey? It was impossible for me to imagine he had nothing but good intentions. Humans were vicious, self-centered creatures, that constantly tortured magic beings for their own benefit. Why would a man a hundred times my size be worried about my well-being?
Even so, I couldn’t deny his gaze was filled with … anguish. And somehow it seemed as if he tried to appear smaller by laying his stomach on the ground. If he wanted to eat me …
Wouldn’t he’d done it already?
- May I ask … what’s your name? - I wasn’t able to detect any malice in his hoarse deep voice. However, his immense presence and the vibrations of his voice were incredibly overwhelming. My body began to fail me, and the bubbling fear was too much.
My limbs went numb.
And I faded away.

My sweet baby boy is very talented in many things, but sarcasm and social queues are NOT one of those talents and having a permanent confused b*tch face doesn't help. Zack's from another dimension so he also has no clue how social media works. So, on this setting I'd imagine Mia being flabbergasted and desperately trying to yank Zack's new phone away from him hehe

I need to practice drawing them more standing up haha. Despite their rough first meeting (both tried to unalive the other lol), eventually they get to know each other and somehow start dating. Most definitely, Mia would start to wear heels when they go out. Even though, Zack doesn't mind the height difference at all (he finds it cute). You wouldn't believe she's older than him haha :)

Sweet interaction between two of my main ocs, Mia and Zack. I created them when I was on middle school, and I guess I was too embarrassed to try and draw them in a more intimate setting haha

He'll be a good boy if you let him in, he swears ;) I’m embarrassed to post this on my other socials haha, anyways here’s my baby boy Zack. I haven’t decided yet how tall he is, I just know he’s TALL. He’s usually really calm and quiet, but I love the idea of him being a horny lightweight despite his huge size lol
