i was going to make a comic for this but you know how i am so im just going to tell you NSKDJSKDK

I was thinking about Nikki after Moon gave him Gerald's research!! I imagine he got very focused into reading and understanding everything and he sometimes would re-read certain pages. Because if Shadow trusted him with such delicate and personal info he wanted to give it the relevance it deserved!

And his parents got worried, because yeah, Nikki sometimes does read, but he never gets THIS glued to a book, so they ask him about it, and he just tells them its a sci-fi book Moon recommended, and that he's really into it.

At some point Sonic brings it up with Shadow, not anything in the actual journal, but actually asks about Gerald himself.

"You know, I noticed... His last name is Robotnik, is that...?"

And Shadow simply nods.

"Gerald was Eggman's grandfather. As far as I'm aware, Ivo doesn't know about my connections to his family. And I want to keep it that way."

Sonic still doesn't have the heart to ask about the actual research, but he feels like he understands Shadow so much better now, and he really appreciates it. He doesn't even know how to word how proud he feels about Shadow trusting him this much, but he wants them to know, so bad.

Psssst, hey Nikki. If you need suggestions on pet names for Moon might I suggest "Starlight"? It'd fit nicely considering their name and they did want something cuter/less generic! You should totally give it a go. I bet their face will turn bright red! ♥️
