🎶 Goldfinger, Pretty girl beware of this heart of gold, This heart is cold. 🎶 Actually it's my feet that are cold but I've totally got this song stuck in my head now. This was a gorgeous special edition IOPE set I bought awhile back. The candle is bursting with lavender and rosemary scent. The facial oil is a special treat I've been using for the last week. It is a light oil that contains panthenol and "Golden Plant Drop A complex of extracts from four golden plants". These four golden plants are golden avonoid, golden root, golden ex and golden needle". "Mum my instagram account is going so well!" - non commital murmur in return. "Mum someone sent me free stuff to review!" - suddenly we're all ears. My darling mother is the model of frugality, from a long line of thrifty minimalists, but somehow gave birth to a consumerist monster. Maybe there's a recessive spending gene in the family? Anyway, this kit arrived today from @wantskincare which is a Singapore based company selling handmade organic products. I've only tried the lipbalm so far which has betroots and grapefruit in it. How exciting. I am generally deeply distrustful of natural lip balms as so many I've tried just sit on the lips and don't get right in and make my smoochers soft. O ye of little faith. I am amazed and pleased because this one is excellent AND I've convinced myself that the beetroot counts as one of my daily quota of vegetables. ***I hope my whole "I got free stuff look at me" doesn't come across as insufferable and gloaty. I just want to be as upfront as possible when I receive something to review and this is my silly old way to do it. The 23 years old caviar mask from the previous post. Those black spots on the mask are not cookie crumbs from trying to eat without a mouth hole, they are bits of caviar. How luxurious. What a pair. 23 years old make excellent masks. Word of warning though, they have no mouth holes so you look like The Silence and can't drink wine for 20-40 minutes. Well worth the sacrifice. This mask has caviar extract and propanediol and left my skin feeling soft and smooth and took away a slight redness on my cheeks and nose. On the right is vlancvere pure hyaluronic acid hydra boost. It has a gel consistency, no discernible scent and you apply after toner. Initially I didn't notice much when using this but then after a week when I stopped using it I realised it was doing a great job at keeping me plumped up! I am growing to really like it and I use it day and night now. I have only recently discovered the brand vlancvere when I bought their vitamin c ampoule and serum which I love. Then out of the blue the company contacted me to try this product so that was really exciting. "You'll be the first to die in the zombie apocalypse" says my friend. He's very critical of my lack of practical life skills. "Excuse me but I'm almost famous on instagram and companies are sending me free products to try!" I counter. He seems unimpressed, scornful even. We negotiate to the point where he agrees he'll help me out in the apocalypse so I will "survive 2-4 weeks". So now the I-got-this-for-free disclaimer is done let's talk about this moisturiser from @hellopurpletale. I started by patch testing this on my entire face. I am not a good role model. I've used this nightly for about 3 weeks and I'm ready to say - I'm into it! It's a nice balance of moisturising but not too heavy for the humid Korean summer. There is no discernable scent and it smooths on so nicely. There is a sweet little spatula but I just plunge my germy fingers straight in because I am a terrible person. I really like the fact that the website lists full ingredients in English. Main ingredients are ginseng, peptide complexes, adenosine, and niacinamide. What's not to like? Skin emergency! I fell asleep without moisturising last night *DRAMATIC GASP* I needed a morning sheetmask STAT. I chose this one because it gave me a medical vibe. It comes in 4 varieties based on your blood type? This is blood type O. It "instantly soothe the stressed skin" and contains potato (?), cornflower, dandelion, potato (again), rice bran, aloe, hyaluronic acid, peptides and vitamin c. It was great! I can't quite make out the brand, House Dr I think. The night is the time when I get promiscuous and excessive with my skincare but that's a post for another day... 💦I wash my face with water only 🌞 Spray with cosrx galactomyces alcohol free toner - galactomyces is a routine staple 🌞 Apply vlancvere power VC 15 ample (that's how it's spelt) and let it soak in whilst I bustle around - a new discovery and I love it! 🌞 Follow up with vlancvere ferulic de age serum - Also excellent and gets me bright and bouncy 🌞 Finish with primera watery oil free gel cream - great in the current humidity and subtly smells like pine needles 🌞 I put on sunscreen and bb creams as per previous post. Hashbrown no filter. I'm so desperately in love with this su:m37 oil lip tint. Triple mask treat!!! 🐎 Today I tried my first ever donkey milk mask. It was black, lasted 40 minutes and felt cooling and moisturising. A My Beauty Diary mask I haven't tried with an exotic name, fancy packaging and what looks to be a picture of a diamond on it?! TAKE MY MONEY. Yes, I too thought that obsidian was volcanic rock used to fashion knives to kill white walkers. Then it turns up in your sheetmask and you realise the world of things you can put on your face just expanded. This mask has a neck piece that *actually stays on your neck* unlike other neck masks I've tried that leave you with an uncomfortable suspicion that that were made for people with only one chin. 5 steps in a sheetmask?! This is the kind of thing I'm strongly supportive of. And this headband is clearly the greatest thing ever and currently my favourite possession. @hellopurpletale sent me both to try and I think they are excellent. They come with: 💜 Foaming cleanser 💜 Ampoule 💜 Moisturiser 💜 Neck cream 💜 Sheetmask I liked all the steps but I really loved the sheetmask. It's a two piece, super thin bio cellulose hydrogel type that gets on your face and stays there. No sliding around and you can drink a cup of tea AND eat chocolate whilst wearing it without a problem. You can also drink red wine without getting that shameful mouth stain. When I test a product I really commit. I'm wearing it in the photo and you can barely tell it's there. These would make an excellent gift for a kbeauty newbie or for travel being so convenient and all-in-one. I mean they would be excellent for people who don't get separation anxiety from their products and end up taking a suitcase full then also buying all the duty free at the airport and having to purchase an extra suitcase for the way home because they have more beauty products than they left with. That's normal right? Asking for a friend.
