HATAKE KAKASHI PERMANENT PLOTTING CALL. | so you want to write a thread with kakashi? or maybe you want to establish a dynamic? well, you’ve come to the right place. if you like this post, i’ll hop into your ims or reach out over on discord so we can discuss ideas and get something in the works. under the cut is a wishlist. it includes canon compliant/divergent ideas, crossovers and a couple aus, and some dynamics and character relationships i’m especially eager to dig into. it’s a good place for us to start in terms of plotting, but don’t consider it a comprehensive list. if there’s something you want to write that isn’t on the list, we can absolutely talk about it.

CANON COMPLIANT & CANON DIVERGENT

ANBU ERA. | a much more volatile kakashi, back before he had fully embraced the quirky but untouchable persona that will later become his trademark. he tends to keep most people at arm’s length, but he’s also a trusted captain within anbu ranks. some of his missions were deep cover in other villages, so it could be an opportunity to explore something with a shinobi from another place.

JONIN SHENANIGANS. | in the years following kakashi’s discharge from anbu, gai makes an effort to draw kakashi back into normal life, which includes making friends with his fellow shinobi. i’d love to explore this with literally any of the characters (or OCs) in kakashi’s age bracket.

HOKAGE ERA. | there’s so much to explore here! diplomatic relations; working with various shinobi to implement important domestic changes; kakashi’s tendency to shirk pomp and circumstance (complete with sukea threads to avoid things like ribbon cutting ceremonies). i’m also really interested in exploring his relationships with various advisors at this time—shikamaru and tsunade both come to mind.

DOMESTIC THREADS. | kid kakashi getting lessons from any of the sannin. young kakashi and minato/kushina. team minato before everything went wrong. post-mission hang outs in foreign cities before any of the jonin have students to wrangle. d-rank mission shenanigans with team 7. kakashi babysits mirai or any of his former students’ children. kakashi and tsunade commiserate about how shit it is being the hokage over drinks. kakashi’s friends harass him despite the fact that he’s the big man in the big hat. kakashi invited to family dinners and asked to officiate weddings of naruto’s friends. other shinobi help kakashi restore the hatake clan compound. despite how alone kakashi has felt for most of his life, the village has always been his family, there have always been people in it who loved him. i want to write about it. (this is not an exhaustive list of ideas. it’s just a general vibe i’d love to explore)

KAKASHI-SENSEI. | i would love the chance to explore kakashi training any of the nine other genin. this can either be as a favor to one of the other jonin-sensei or a canon-divergent situation (team 7 is different? the jonin in the village take on a more collective approach to training genin? something else?).

MISSING NIN. | kakashi goes missing nin? why? i haven’t decided yet, but it’s one of those “always a possibility” scenarios that i think would be fun to explore. kakashi interacting with other missing nin or being confronted by old friends who are still loyal to konohagakure.

KAKASHI… UCHIHA? | following the kannabi bridge incident, kakashi comes under intense scrutiny from the uchiha clan. some members want him dead, some simply want obito’s eye removed. fugaku, who knows that minato will fight tooth and claw for his student, decides on the best possible compromise. kakashi��an orphan in his own right—will be adopted into the uchiha clan where the sharingan eye can be watched over closely. this would be especially interesting in regards to dynamics between kakashi and any uchihas.

CROSSOVERS & GENERAL AUS

BNHA AU. | my ideas aren’t fleshed out enough yet to make an official verse, but hear me out. kakashi was an hpsc agent during his teens and early twenties. when he’s deemed unfit to work undercover any longer (following a years-long mental health decline that has recently started to jeopardize the success of missions), they decide to let out his leash some. he gets a teaching job as the homeroom teacher for ua’s class 3A.

BLEACH AU. | same as the bnha au. we’d have to do a little plotting, but i was considering… stealth force kakashi. following aizen’s defection, kakashi is forcibly promoted to interim captain of squad 5. that’s basically all i have right now, but i do desperately want to write this crossover. please?

YAKUZA AU. | i love everything to do with yakuza aus. i have a general concept for kakashi, but i’m also open to just spitballing ideas in the dms to make it work for anything you might want to do with your muse.

FANTASY AU. | werewolf kakashi. need i say more?

HISTORICAL AU. | heian? sengoku? edo? or anything in between! samurai kakashi would be very fun. and i’ll never say no to a regency or victorian au.

DYNAMICS, RELATIONSHIPS, & SHIPPING

note: the possible characters sections are not exhaustive.

PROFESSIONAL. | kakashi is one of konohagakure’s most prolific shinobi. with over 1000 missions under his belt, a history in anbu and in the regular ranks, he’s been in the field with most of the jonin and seasoned chunin in konohagakure and has even collaborated on joint missions with shinobi from other villages. during his tenure as an anbu captain, he worked closely with torture & interrogation. whether as hound or kakashi, almost every shinobi in the village has a professional opinion of him. i’m always down to explore kakashi when he’s in mission-mode—as a squad leader or just another member of the team—and how he interacts with other shinobi in these higher-stakes situations. possible characters: basically any shinobi from konoha (canon or oc) ranked chunin or higher at the start of canon

FAMILIAL. | while i typically assume that kakashi is the last hatake in name, i am always interested in looking at familial relationships. i also hc that there has historically been quite a few marriages between hatakes and inuzukas, so that’s another inroad for a familial dynamic. possible characters: sakumo, ocs

ROMANTIC. | while i do ship kakashi with quite a few canon characters and am open to oc/canon ships, he’s a very difficult person to be in a relationship with, and i don’t shy away from that. pre-canon eras are especially fraught, and romantic relationships are off the table until after he has been discharged from anbu (sexual relationships and other complex dynamics leading towards romantic shipping during that time can be discussed on a case by case basis).

SPECIFIC CHARACTERS. | there are some canon characters that i would just really like kakashi to interact with, regardless of specifics. haruno sakura, hatake sakumo, inuzuka kiba, jiraiya, maito gai, namikaze minato, nara shikaku, nara shikamaru, nohara rin, orochimaru, senju tsunade, uchiha itachi, uchiha obito, uchiha sasuke, umino iruka, uzumaki kushina, uzumaki naruto, yamanaka inoichi, yamato

01. | general info

this is a mutuals-only, highly selective, multimuse run by darcy (27, they/them, EST). ‣ i am entirely mobile-bound. i don’t have access to x-kit, so all threads will be continued in a new post to avoid prohibitively long posts clogging my followers’ dashes. please reach out if you’re worried about this affecting your thread tracker. ‣ this blog has a very slow turnaround rate. i don’t post ic content daily, nor do i run off a queue. i write when i have the muse and try not to force myself when i don’t, so please be patient with me. ‣ all portrayals are informed by my own headcanons.

02. | following

if we’re mutuals, i’m open to interacting, so please feel free to send asks (prompts never expire), interact with my ooc and headcanon posts, or reach out via dms to plot or just chat. i appreciate this sort of interaction because i’m shy and find it difficult to initiate conversations with new followers without “permission.” ‣ i am duplicate, oc, au, and crossover friendly! non-rp blogs dni (unless that’s how you follow/follow back, in which case, please let me know!) ‣ i’m not comfortable following anyone who is under the age of 21. if you don’t have an age or age range listed somewhere visible on your blog, i won’t follow/follow back. ‣ if after a few months of following, you show no interest in writing with me or at least interacting ooc to some degree, i may unfollow/softblock you just to keep my dash focused on people i’m actively communicating with. you’re welcome to reach out/refollow if you’d like to try again! ‣ if for any reason, you decide you no longer want to be mutuals, feel free to soft block me. there won’t be any hard feelings.

03. | writing

‣ i am a novella writer. on average, my replies range from 3 to 5 paragraphs (200-600 words), but i don’t expect anyone to match. write what feels right for the scene. quality is always more important than quantity. ‣ my formatting is limited to small text, bolded dialogue, and stylistic italics. i don’t use icons. if you need me to use regular sized text for our threads, i’m happy to do so! ‣ i don’t ever rush my own writing, nor will i rush you to get replies to me. writing is a hobby, and i don’t like adding anxiety into the mix. thread replies, asks, and any other things of this nature have no experiation dates. if you’re struck with inspiration to respond to something six months after i wrote it, please feel free to do so. i guarantee i’ll be thrilled to receive an unexpected reply. ‣ that said, i have a tendency to respond much faster to threads/asks from people who communicate with me ooc. i don’t need to plot out entire threads or anything, but i value ooc communication with my rp partners and find a lot of joy in discussing characters/ideas.

04. | shipping/dynamics

i’m happy to explore all kinds of dynamics from romantic to platonic to familial to antagonistic! as of now, i’m multiship and don’t currently practice ship exclusivity. ‣ for romantic dynamics, i require a decent amount of ooc communication, especially since some of my muses can be difficult to ship with for various reasons. ‣ it’s very rare that i will do pre-established relationships with ocs. because i can’t get to know them via canon, i want to get to know them through rp, so exploring the development of the relationship through threads is really important. ‣ kiss ask prompts and the like are a good “what if” scenario that i’m willing to write even if we haven’t established/discussed a ship, but i may not want to expand it into a thread without discussing ooc. ‣ i am also willing to explore one-sided crushes, unrequited love, or relationships that don’t work out if that’s something you’re interested in. ‣ any nsfw content (ic or headcanons) will be tagged ‘tw suggestive’ and will be under the cut.

05. | etiquette

‣ any transphobia, homophobia, racism, zionism, antisemitism, or other bigotry will lead to an immediate hard block. ‣ i don’t engage in mun drama or callouts, and frequent passive aggressive or vague posting about other blogs might lead to a soft block. if you have a serious concern about someone i follow (ie they’re a real threat offline), please reach out privately so you and i can discuss things like adults.
