On writing Everything Has Changed, Run, and End Game with Taylor: I mean, the very very first time we met I played Nashville and her mom Andrea came down to watch me at the Ryman and I remember she brought me like a gramophone that you stick an iPhone in. We sort of met after that in a hotel room in - I wanna say like Seattle or something - it wasn’t like Los Angeles, New York, LA, Nashville. It wasn’t like that. I think it was Seattle. Originally, it was Frank who was her radio guy, or is her radio guy. So that was the original meeting. And then we were in a hotel room, I think we had burgers, had a guitar, and we wrote this Run song and I think like part of another song. And swapped details, kept in touch and then the next time I was in Los Angeles - I didn’t know anyone there and I kind of just hit her up being like, ‘Hey, I’m in Los Angeles.’ And she’s like, ‘Come around!’ So I went around, brought my guitar, and that’s when we wrote Everything Has Changed. We famously wrote it on a trampoline. She was like, 'Do you want to see my trampoline?’ And I was like, 'Yeah!’ So we brought two guitars on the trampoline and we just got kind of going back and forth, so that’s when that song was written. End Game - I was playing Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. And she has a place in Rhode Island, which isn’t too far. So she hits me up like, ‘I know you’re in Connecticut, come around.’ I go around, she plays me some of what turned out to be reputation, and she plays me this End Game. And I was like, 'Man, I really like this. Can I do a verse? Can I like do a rap verse?’ And she was like, 'Yeah, for sure!’ So the next day, I remember I was in bed, and sort of woke up and got my laptop out, put the song, just looped it, and I wrote this verse, and I went in with Max Martin - who she did the song with - and recorded it. Then Future did a verse. And then Taylor wrote a verse and we shot the video. It was when I broke my arms as well. I broke both my arms cycling - not motorcycling - in England. I had to cancel like lot of tour dates. But I’d written it already, and we shot the video. If you look in the video I’ve got a cast on my arm.

On his friendship with Taylor and her playing a part in his relationship with Cherry: Yeah, I mean, Taylor is the kind of catalyst for our relationship cause I had been in touch with Cherry and we’d been on one date. And then it just so happened she was literally around the corner and Taylor invited her and matchmade. And, yeah, now here we are. No, it’s great, and they get on like a house on fire. And I love Taylor’s boyfriend Joe, he’s such a wonderful human and they just work really well together. And yeah, it’s cool. It’s mad cause I know it is an industry friendship, but I don’t see it [as such]. I feel like industry friendships, when you hang out you post a picture and people know you’ve hung out. Whereas me and her - like she’ll come around for dinner with Joe, I’ll go around for dinner there with Cherry, and it’s like we have a friendship that isn’t really in the spotlight, even though it’s in the spotlight - it’s not in the spotlight, does that make sense? We have catch up calls for like three hours where we’ll talk, and talk, and talk, but like no one will... it’s not like screenshot it and go, ‘Look who I spoke to.’ I spoke to her yesterday, I’ll probably speak to her tomorrow. Like, we have a great friendship. And it’s been 10 years now, so it’s been cool.
