what I want most in life rn is finding someone who functions on the exact same wavelength as me bec personally I'm truly happy sipping on a milkshake and staring at the ocean everyday as a hangout. And everyone else I know irl is like UGH this place is so boring there's nothing to do here except eating and walking and beach. Which I UNDERSTAND and they can think that. But I really truly do not mind and it's been grating on me lately that everyone around me is apparently so bored and I feel like I'm being too livelaughlove and toxic positive by being content with these simple things. Tbh what's bothering me is that I feel like I'm enjoying my time with them doing these things more than they enjoy their time with me so đ«©đ«©đ«©
#very random rant#unfortunately starting to see the appeal of a Relationshipâą now#if only I can find someone who will be livelaughlove with me

not to get overly poetic about it but...nalu as a dynamic is kinda crazy to me like. what if we were best friends? what if we were kinda silly and ridiculous and stupid about each other? what if we were connected across time and space for 400 years? what if we bumped into each other on a random tuesday? what if you changed my life? what if we had a dogged, unwavering and irrational faith in each other right from the get go? what if the greatest tragedy of my life was directly linked to the greatest tragedy of yours? what if, in a different timeline, i watched you and the rest of my friends die, and there was nothing i could do about it? what if i watched a future version of you die and i sobbed over your broken body? what if you were my last tether to humanity? what if i broke the laws of magic to save you? what if you came back to me in the place we first met? what if we were meant to be in every single universe? what if we still chose each other, every single time, anyway?

more Erza helmet stuff. I like the idea of the helmet getting more "dragon-y" as time goes on building up to when we meet Irene
In my head people really didn't see her face much at all until post tower of heaven because she constantly wore a helmet and her eye took a long time to heal (3-5 years) so even before that she had bandages covering most of her face. First time lucy ever saw it was when her armor was destroyed blocking the phantom nuke.
Also the scar on her cheek is the one she got from knightwalker because I don't like how that got removed

you know I eat breathe live the found family trope but I HATE HATE HATE when writers write a close male-female relationship but also clearly donât want the readers to ship them together so they have one of the characters say something like âoh theyâre like my sibling!â I think this is such insanely lazy storytelling, you might as well have the characters say âthere is no intended romantic subtext between us!â because both of those do the same amount of showing the reader what youâre trying to convey (that is to say, zero).
HOWEVER I do think that it could be done in a way that isnât quite so forced and unnatural. The reason why it doesnât work a lot of times because the two characters arenât really like siblings, theyâre just good friends, and saying that they are wonât change that fact. But if two characters are very clearly written to be like siblings, even if you donât have any of the characters acknowledge that dynamic at all, it makes stating it outright a bit better because yeah, you guys ARE like siblings. I still think itâs a bit awkward (personal opinion) but itâs not nearly as annoying as trying to force a dynamic onto the characters.

âTheyâre trying to convince people they canât do the things theyâve been doing easily for years â to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies â to write that for you.â We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, âthat you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You wonât know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you canât do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat. People are already doing this. You wonât have to process grief, because youâll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways itâs going to destroy humans, long before thereâs a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people.â
Justine Bateman on AI in this article from The Guardian
#very well said#side note but I have realised most valid and nuanced critiques on AI#is in the form of long articles or videos#which is something that chronic AI users will simply never engage with

I like that early ft keeps baiting you like "yea THIS one's gonna be the normal one" and you're wrong every single time

I get very frustrated when people's argument against Lucy being a "good female character" is that she loses a lot of fights, when that's like, the entire reason why she works so well as a character in the first place. It is made abundantly clear that she is a beginner in comparison to her peers, but they still love her and respect her regardless. She loses fights, but the narrative never implies her lesser for it, despite the way fandom believes this makes her "useless". She is given the chance to grow slowly and steadily, she plays very prominent roles in every arc, and she's eventually capable of holding her own in fights. She is the underdog trope that everyone loves when it's a male shounen protag. I can't even get into how misogynistic the concept of "a female character HAS to be competent and OP to be well written" is because??? (mirrors real life too, where women have to be exceptional to be treated with the same respect as men who are just average). Also.... this is fairy tail đ If you want a female character who IS competent and OP Erza is right there đ ...
