this is for people who are worried about upsetting their gods. through the idea of messing up, not cleaning altars, not praying enough, not offering enough, neglecting their gods, having intrusive thoughts that cuss their gods out, maybe even having a moment of rage towards who you worship that you later regret.
they're still here, with you. take time to feel them holding your hand and giving it the most gentle squeeze. people screw up. they know this. they've been around for long enough to know we make mistakes, and we make a lot of them at that.
it's okay to worry about not doing them justice, however, don't let the notion of screwing up get in the way of how much they love you. with every unique little characteristic you have, how much you've spiced up their long and maybe otherwise boring lives. i'm not saying screwing up is something to be ignorantly celebrated, but it's not something to hurt yourself over, either.
because they love you.

Oh Hephaestus
Oh fiery Hephaestus of those who are abandoned. Oh Hephaestus of those who's craft isn't appreciated enough.
You, of those who fight their own bodies everyday simply to live, And of those who live for their craft.
Hephaestus of those, who struggle with family, Of those who's a child of demanding parents.
Hephaestus the father of those who seek their true calling, And those who are too much in pain to seek.
Oh resourceful Hephaestus, of students with passionate hearts And of those who learn in their own room, dedicated to the craft.
You of the disabled, of those who are experienced, and of those who are new. Of those who wish to improve and of those who cannot.
Oh eternal Hephaestus, your fire lights my path. Your hand of smithery guiding me through getting experience.
Oh kind Hephaestus, the fire in my soul burns for you, As I learn the crafts and stories, as they light me brighter.
And oh Hephaestus, you are for all. You appreciate those who learn, and guide those who don't. You do not hate, do not abandon. You don't leave the women who fight the world to be great, you stay with disabled people, who's minds are too loud to improve, and you stay with curious children, with excited adults, with passionate people, who sometimes in our society are called nerds.
Hephaestus the lame one, the one of crafts, the blazing one, the gentle one, the one of skill. You, living in arts.
I am grateful for the blessings you gave me, the path you led me on, and the one you still walk with me. My mentor, my teacher, my guide.

Prayer of Praise to Apollon 🦢🏹🕯️✧˖°.
« ✦ —⋆——― ꒰ঌ·✦·໒꒱ ———⋆— ✦ »« ✦ —⋆——― ꒰ঌ·✦·໒꒱ ———⋆— ✦ »
Dearest son of Gentle Leto and Mighty Zeus,
He who tends to the wound under my Band-Aid and yet wounds men with the swift piercing of an arrow drawn from your silver bow.
The mellow hums of your lyre collide with the clamorous stomps of merry dance.
God, who communicates most directly whilst shooting from afar, I praise you.
For I am crowned by your laurel in my pride, assisted by the strike of your arrow in my words, and inspired by your presence in my worship.
I thank you, Lord Apollon, for my adoration and gratitude for you knows no bounds.
Oh glorious god, as always and for forever, I praise and honor you.
Praise be Radiant Apollon!

☽☾God of War & Courage☽☾
The premiere of ✨Phoebe's WIPs✨ who dis ? /lh
I thought that it'd be fitting if the first one I show you all is of Lord Ares !
As you can obviously tell, it's not nearly finished :') but I still think it's nice enough to share! Hope you like it <3 further down, I wrote down some notes on my design choices in case anyone is interested !!
NOW , my design notes :
I based the armor on ancient greek hoplites (though i obviously took some creative liberties ) , the floral imagery is supposed to be violets , since I associate them with him ( he doesn't have any sacred plants so this is upg ) . His main color is various shades of purple since I never really liked it when people solely put him in red :') plus it's a really nice color and I think it compliments the darker , more dull tones really nicely . My main inspirations come from his sacred birds , vultures & owls . I specifically associate Bearded Vultures with him ( e.g, the dark markings under his eyes and overall his eye color come from them ) . The hair strands that kinda look like ears on top of his head are a nod to the feather tufts of eagle owls , and I specifically ( tried to ) make him look younger since ancient Greek warriors were usually pretty young too . His helmet is horned as a way for him to match with his parents , who both have the horns of a cow / bull . The scales around his eyes and hands , as well as the claws, are referencing snakes & dragons who are sacred to him , as are the spikes on his greaves and the lower arm protection . The feathered " collar" is referencing Himalayan vultures, and the rest of the cape would have the patterns of an eagle owl mixed with a bearded vulture ^^ the cape maybe has the ability to turn into wings should he need them methinks ^^ also , i draw every Olympian with the golden laurel wreath behind them , as a way to show their status :3
( Also I MIGHT edit this post to include the finished drawing once I get it done )
( divider made by me <3 )

I Love the Theoi
Today is my first day back to work after being off on disability for chronic back pain the last two months. Unfortunately I had to go back before figuring out what was wrong, and I’m terrified of being back to work.
But with the Theoi, I’m not alone.
Apollon was there; granting me respite from the pain for a couple days before I had to go back, which greatly uplifted my mood.
Asklepios is here; helping me through my various medications.
Hermes granted me a safe and easy drive to work.
This morning I was greeted by the beautiful prisms of Iris as my glasses fogged over. Then seeing the lovely Eos accompanying Helios as his chariot crests over the horizon brought a smile to my face.

Ares and his playlist shot me with adrenaline to keep me moving.
Then Dionysos with his playlist is helping to keep my spirits high despite the pain.
Χαίρετε Ἀπόλλον, Ἀσκλεριός, Ἑρμῆς, Ἶρις,Ἠώς, Ἥλιος, Ἄρης, ϗ Διονύσος!

sometimes I sit in little a corner and I grab big little books about the Ancient Roman military and I sit and read my big little book while learning an unhealthy amount of things about warfare and I really think Lord Ares would be so proud

I made the same mistake lol. I thought I wanted to be an eclectic witch focusing on the Greek pantheon at first. But then I realized that nope, I want to worship the Theoi and practice the beautiful and vibrant religion that is Hellenistic Polytheism 🥰
Due to multiple factors, specifically from the bullshit on tiktok, I will now be practicing my Hellenistic studies in earnest. ♡✧( ु•⌄• )
I would like to share that I think my first mistake was to enter Hellenistic polytheism through general witchcraft, eclectic/no specialty, and focused my energy solely on one god from the Greek pantheon—obviously, Hekate the goddess of the crossroads, ghosts, and by modern interpretations witchcraft. And subsequently, foregone the history and context of Hellenistic polytheism.
My textbooks are in the mail,* I ordered a Hekate statue (I feel most drawn to her, I can't help it), and picked up a Greek dictionary. ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧ I'm so excited to learn more. In the meantime, before those arrive, I'll start looking up concepts like the 8 pillars** and some concepts like miasma and katharis. And I admit, I have never read the Illiad or the Odyssey; just watched movie adaptations. :x We're learning in this house, OK.
*Some books recommended by a certified Classics BA: Greek Magical Papyri, Oxford Handbook of Greek Ancient Religion, Underworld Gods in Ancient Greek Religion
**I feel like I break half of these already. Oopsie. :x
