Today I walked from 14th st to 57th with sign held high. I did this because of the man who tripped me and kicked me. I did this because of the man who said nobody is oppressed in America. I did this because of the young women and men of NYC who shook their heads, who laughed, who told me to go back home where I belonged, who told me that I had to suck it up. But mostly, I did this for every man and woman, black, brown, and white, who gave a nod, yelled support, threw up a fist.
