Annie

I sat up suddenly taking in my surroundings. I was moving upwards in a metal box. Around me was boxes and crates bigger than me. I couldn’t remember anything except the name ‘Annie’ yelling over and over In my head. I wasn’t sure it was my name but I had a weird feeling it was. I backed up into a one of the sides burying my heap between my legs. The fear was overwhelming not knowing what was going on, where I was, or even who I was. The weird box came to a stop and I heard the sound of talking but couldn’t make out anything. Light bled into the the small area. The floor shook and I could hear laughs from up above and a masculine voice said,”Welcome to the glade Greenie.” I was now confused and scared. I peeked up and saw a tall boy staring down at me and he looked shocked. “What is it Gally?”, another manly voice sounded from above. “Its.... it’s a girl”, he said not believing it himself. I looked up and saw a whole crowd of boys staring down at me. “Whereee a..mmm I?”, I said tears sliding down my cheeks. I flinched as another boy jumped into the box he looked much softer and welcoming but I still needed to keep my guard up. “I’m Alby and I know none of this makes sense but we’ve all been where you are”, the shorter one said. I didn’t know what to say. “So would you like to come out now?”, I looked up at all the boys who were now dead silent and watching. Alby held his hand out for me to take and I hesitantly took it and stood up. He climbed out of the weird contraption and stuck his hand out again. The taller boy lifted me up and I flinched at the touch. Once my feet where on the grass I looked up and saw huge walls surrounding me and I backed up a terrified. Another boy walked to the front of the crowd and offered a wide grin,”Welcome to the glade!”
