“definitely not fun. besides you’d have to wake up early too.” but he assumed she was capable. “what do you want? name it and we will see if it works.”
“hey, i’m willing to take one for the team. even if on this case, the team is me and my amusement.” amelie retorted with a grin. “um... what about twenty four hours where neither one of us annoy each other? think you can do it?”

┌ ❝ U R G H ❞ the brunette let out. she was starting to get annoyed. ❝ i’m getting tired of people, i won’t name names but i’m tired of people shortening my name because they can’t be bothered to say joesephine ❞ she sulked folding her arms as she flopped down on the available chair. ❝ joey isn’t me, i don’t care if it’s easier to say or faster, my name is joesephine. ❞ ┘
“maybe it’s not so much that they can’t be bothered to say joesephine, but that they’re not sure on how to pronounce it.” elliot suggested what to him seemed like the most logical explanation with a shrug. “or maybe they’re trying to be cute. who knows.”

“i didn’t know what else to do.” isabelle laughed along with the other.
“so the obvious option was to do that ─ of course, makes sense.” the male teased, a smile still evident on his lips. “other than trying to get innocent people to get themselves in trouble, what are you up to, isabelle?”

“would you believe me if i said i saw someone JUMP off this bridge && disappear ??” it was obvious no normal humans would. they’d come up with an excuse - her mind playing tricks, or her imagination being vividly wild. “that’s be crazy, right ??” she mused, turning that concentrated frown into a sarcastic smile.
elliot decided to play OBLIVIOUS, expression turning into a confused frown as he heard her words. “that would be crazy, yes. which is not to say i wouldn’t believe you.”

“yeah, dads can be assholes.”
“i’ll drink to that.” amelie raised her glass before having another long sip. “for what it’s worth, i do hope your asshole father doesn’t give you too much trouble.”

“i guess that is true.”
it was only then that elliot noticed the stranger that was sitting next to them had disappeared. “huh ─ i think we bored the big foot lover.”

“That’s just my face.” He said with a shrug before sitting back down with Amelie. “Okay, then I’ll stay.”
“you’re a weirdly unusual vampire.” the words were out of her mouth before she could fully process them, eyes watching him closely as he sat down again.

“please, i can wake up like a champion. no one needs to drag anyone!” he mumbles were littered with slurs, eyes forced solemnly on the blonde. “six shots each, whoever finishes them first gets a prize?”
“maybe it’s not needed, but it is fun.” amelie remarked with a shrug, head tilting to the side as she considered his words. “what type of prize are we talking?”

isabelle didn’t know how to respond to the blonde so all she did was stick her tongue out at him, which was the most middle school comeback ever.
elliot instantly broke into laughter at isabelle’s response, head shaking a couple of times as he looked at her. “i have to say, i was not expecting that.”

hcllridge:
her words earn a halfhearted scoff from teegan, not at all offended by it. after all, she knew as well as anyone how daunting it was to be paired with someone for a task that you felt entirely capable of doing yourself —- something she was starting to realize might’ve been a thing among shadowhunters. the latter comment seems to warrant a sense of amusement from the female, the near corners of her lips curving ever so SLIGHTLY. albiet, it doesn’t last - tone returning to serious as the case at hand comes into conversation. “one, though he claims he didn’t see anything —- it was apparently too dark, and everything happened too quickly. basically, we’re going into this with NOTHING.”
it would’ve been a lie to say amelie hadn’t mentally congratulated herself for seemingly amusing the brunette shadowhunter, even if only slightly so. it would’ve brought a smile to her own lips if their current situation didn’t demand a stern posture. “of course it was.” heaving a sigh, the blonde examined their surroundings, gaze settling on a particular store that was near the institute. “that establishment is on a privileged position. they may have a camera that caught something ─ anything. it’s a possiblity we could pursue.” at the very least, it would be better than nothing.

tenebrisnlux:
the wind caught her hair as she looked over her shoulder at the blonde , smiling slightly. she slid her hands down the metal of the bike as she sat up , leaning towards her companion. “ business , hmm ? ” her gaze drifted up && down her form , her smile growing. “ depends on what kind of business you’re talking about. ” she knew exactly what kind , but she kept her tone suggestive anyway.
the blonde shadowhunter shifted awkwardly on her feet under the brunette’s gaze, clearing her throat as she attempted to ignore it. for someone who was usually so confident, she had certainly been caught off guard this time. “you know what kind.” her response was firm, not paying much mind to the suggestiveness of rosalie’s words.

“in for a long night?” he repeated her words, almost singing it like a song. “oh that sounds fine with me,” lorcas stated, a shot pressed against his lips and liquor pouring through his mouth. “let’s play a game.”
“i wonder if it will still sound fine when i drag your ass out of bed tomorrow morning for a little training session.” her tone was almost challenging, a smirk on her ruby lips as he mentioned a game. “please, do elaborate.”

“Relax? Okay…sure. I can do that. Totally. Nope don’t plan on doing that. I will keep my hands and my fangs to myself.”
“yeah, i’m sure. that’s why you look like you’re about to implode, huh?” she couldn’t help but be slightly amused. “on that case, i don’t see why you have to leave.”

“–Getting drunk off three glasses is weak. Come on, aren’t you worth more than that?”
“drunk?” the blonde arched a brow, downing another shot before looking at him once again. “mi amor, you’re in for a long night.”

sightborn:
‘ what the hell ! ‘ frankie stuttered back pressed against brick wall, the often tough girl reduced to tears. in the past few years she’d been seeing things she couldn’t explain, she usually blamed the drugs. the mundane thought she was going crazy, seeing things like shadowhunters and downworlders yet she didn’t know anything about it. or that she had the sight.
although he’d been raised to put emotions aside and for rationality to be a priority, elliot couldn’t have ignored the mundane even if he wanted to. “are you alright?” eyes were focused on her, head tilting to the side as he studied both her and their surroundings carefully.

bellouve:
fleur should’ve been used to it if TWENTY TWO years of being a shadowhunter should’ve taught her anything, it was that they always stuck to the shadows. they were quiet, light on their feet. && elliot had never been an exception to that rule. “ of course not. you never have to call. ” fleur stated softly at the other. “ pop on by whenever you want. ”
“are you sure?” the male asked as he kneeled down, hands swiftly grabbing the three books she’d dropped upon his arrival before standing up again. he’d missed her ─ perhaps a proof of that was the fact that he hadn’t even realized he was heading to the familiar bookstore until he was already there. “i can come back another time, it’s no problem. you seem busy.”
