Where did you find your art?

People keep asking where I’m finding my art assets, so I decided to compile a list of useful public domain art sites I’ve found, along with some examples of how some images could be used in videogames. This stuff is raw imagination fuel.

Just to clarify: “public domain” means that the intellectual property rights on the artistic work have expired, and as such you are free to do anything you want with the images, commercial or otherwise. You might want to consider attributing the artist or uploader as a courtesy, though.
