Nothing beats the feeling when you start getting comments on every fic in a fandom or ship from one person, and it’s clear that they’re going on a fic-binge.

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.

I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.

The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.

Anyways, support your favorite fanfic writers by engaging with their WIPs.

one thing real fast though: when i said “exactly the same” i didn’t exactly mean exactly exactly, you feel me? and it’s more related to the movie than the games. dunno why i said “exactly”, but oh well-

anyway, BASICALLY! scar had a favourite cousin. his name was cub. cub was kidnapped from a family reunion one summer when they were about nine. skip forward and scar has a security team consisting of himself, gem, impulse, skizz, and mumbo, which scar gets jobs/gigs/whatever for. the most recent of these jobs is working in an old abandoned pizzeria that he’s told the owner won’t let get wrecking balled.

the first night him and his team work there, he drifts off — which he never does on the job — and has the same dream he’s been having for years, in which he sees the events leading up to cub’s kidnapping, and the kidnapping itself. this time, though, it doesn’t end when it usually does. he turns and sees five kids standing behind him, four in a line a bit farther back and one closer. the closest one has light brown hair and a red jumper, the sleeves rolled up to reveal rows of alternating black and white beaded bracelets. behind him is one with dark skin and hair wearing a blue shirt and bunny ears, a girl with long brown hair wearing a red hoodie and holding a pirate hook, a boy with blond hair held back with a bandana wearing a green shirt and a top hat, and a second blond boy in a superman shirt with a bib around his neck. they run off before scar can say anything and he wakes up, having fallen out of his chair onto the floor. mumbo, watching the cams in the same room, asks if he’s alright

in this scenario, afton is simply a watcher, because i didn’t wanna assign any life member to be evil child murderer :P

also, if you couldn’t tell, yes, the animatronics are possessed by the ex-evo lifers. i even have the exact order and circumstances in which they died :D
