Double Glazed Windows, Doors & Conservatories in Oxford
Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride, or UPVC, is a low-maintenance building material commonly used as a substitute for painted wood in window frames and sills when installing double glazing in new structures or replacing older single-glazed windows. Other applications include fascia, siding, and weatherboarding. Waste pipes, drain pipes, guttering, and downpipes are all made of the same material, nearly replacing cast iron in plumbing and drainage. In the home improvement market, these products are commonly referred to as "Roofline."
What's more, UPVC is a less expensive alternative to expensive hardwood lumber and aluminium. It's a popular material because of its durability and cost-effectiveness. PVC and PVCU are two other names for it.
The incredible strength, versatility, and low maintenance are because the window frames are vinyl polymer bonded to chlorine atoms. As a result, the window frames are not technically plastic and may be used with steel. This means that homeowners won't have to pay a lot of money in the long run.
To comply with Building Regulations, all UPVC windows and doors must be energy certified and come in various appealing colours and woodgrain timber impression treatments.
If you want to save money on energy, UPVC windows are the way to go. Energy-rated UPVC windows are incredibly energy efficient. Because of the materials used in production, they have low thermal conductivity. This prevents heat from escaping as quickly as it might with other construction materials.
The real benefit of all high-quality UPVC items is that they never need to be painted, and the only care they require is a wash down with a damp cloth every few years or so.
Here's a link to Oxon Windows and Doors's entire UPVC window line.
