PJO SPOILER!
I’ve finally felt motivated to read again and I’ve just read the part in Son of Neptune where he became praetor and I’ve realized the holes in my original theory from my first ever post. I thought that everything was happening in winter, but my recent reading reminded me that they were in June.
There was no way Percy was in enough places throughout the 3 years from TLT to TLO that would make him be eight months behind 16, also in BotL, Hera says she has postponed when Percy and Annabeth would have to make a choice. I haven’t read far enough to know if this that choice, but I believe it is. Also, the scene with Percy calling his mom but it going to voice mail almost made me cry.
Some more random thoughts I had while reading!
My heart melted the end when Dakota (Son of Bacchus) received the golden eagle from Percy. He had been the centurion of the Fifth Cohort for literal years, raised in a cohort that was mocked practically his whole life, and he finally helped bring honor back to his cohort. I also hated how he was only used to be a addiction joke, especially because it was “ironic” he had an addiction as the son of Bacchus (roman god of wine). He deserved to be more.
Same with his greek brother, Dionysus’ twins Pollux and Castor. You name twins after a pair of twins from greek mythology where one dies and the other goes to the Underworld to bring him back and you make, the same twin die, and don’t go anywhere with that? Really? Castor didn’t even have a single line in the entire books and Pollux gets ONE and then they are never mentioned again. Really Rick? Wasted potential if you ask me.
I haven’t finished Son of Neptune, but the number one thing on my mind since Percy’s got his memory back is; what will happen when he sees Nico? I’m like, 36% sure hes in the jar right now but Nico lied to Percy and said be didn’t know him, and Percy knows. Nico’s gonna realize that Percy’s got his memory back, and know he lied to him and whats gonna happen? School i ending soon so I might not be able to get to Mark of Athena but hopefully my public library has it! Let me know if you want me to do another post after finishing Son of Neptune. Have a Good Day/Night!

I’m on a boat heading to an island and my mind has been thinking about the Princess Andromeda the whole time. Also, how did Luke get the ship? Was is ever specified or did he rob a bank?

SPOILER FOR PJ
I’m probably not the first person to figure this out, but it just clicked for me. Percy Jackson never technically made a decision that would be the rise or fall of Olympus on his 16th birthday, he made one the day before. This is because he never actually turned sixteen. He, multiple times, got stuck in places where time was warped, like the lotus casino, and calypso island. He physically, never turned sixteen.
Instead, at the beginning of SoN, where he finds Juno (Hera) he makes the big choice of going into the water into safety or bringing her to Camp Jupiter. Thats roughly 2months after the Battle of Manhattan, as we don’t know how long went by before he went missing. In SoN, he said he’d been on the run for 2 months. If you go and add up the times where he was frozen in time, like calypso and the casino those two are 3 weeks, probably a little over a month including the Labyrinth.
This is a strong hypothetical, but if you went back and added up all the times he was frozen, my hypothesis assumes that they would add ip to, or near the rough two months between SoN and TLO. Don’t quote me on this, this is a stupid theory I’ve thought about before. Also, First post of Tumblr!
