To celebrate this wonderful time I baked some Rosemary Lavender Shortbread

☀️Sun Salts☀️

These salts are super easy to make and are good for any sun magic, an offering to solar deities, solar bath salts, cleansing, energy, positivity, healing, creativity, protection, and more 🌞

What you need-

🔆A mortar and pestle

🌼Sea salt

🍊Dried orange peel (and/or orange essential oil)

🌻Chamomile, marigold, sunflower, or any yellow petaled flower (dried)

🌾A dash of cinnamon powder

Instructions:

🔆Gather your ingredients

🔆Combine them one by one in a mortar and pestle until the salt changes color (yellow or orange) or until its powderized

🔆Let it charge in the sunlight (sunrise-sunset) with your favorite sun crystal

🔆store in an airtight bottle and enjoy!

Reason #1951

I want to recover to stop apologising for asking for what I need

I’ve talked about this before but I’m needing the reminder myself lately so I’m gonna talk about it again;

recovering from depression is fucking scary

depression takes over your life. it becomes your one constant, your one known variable. it gets its claws in you and drags you down as far as it can, and eventually, you accept it. it’s like a form of stockholme syndrome; you live with depression long enough and you begin to see it as your companion. and fighting off that companion, forcing it to let you go and dragging yourself back up can be terrifying.

this is normal. but you cannot give in to those feelings.

get help. take your medication. and when you feel yourself getting better, when you begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, when you realise you’re having more good days then bad, do not baulk. do not slow down. do not start giving in to your old habits, your old ways of thinking. do not halt your own progress.

it’s so goddamn scary, to realise you might defeat your depression one day, because you have no idea what life is going to be like afterwards. if you’re dealing with it for the first time, you might not remember who you were before it, and you don’t know how to be without it. believe me, you will work it out. you will get your personality back, and even if it’s not the one you had before, that’s okay.

if you’re dealing with it for the second time, or the third or fourth, it’s also scary because you don’t want to finally be happy again only to have it taken away from you the next time it hits. and maybe it will come back. maybe it won’t. but either way, every day you can live your life without depression is a good one, and will help to heal you, and keep you going for a little bit longer.

recovering from depression is scary. but I promise it is so, so worth it.
