WHAT NOBODY TELLS YOU ABOUT FASTING
For gum chewers: Nobody tells you that you will expel a storm of wind out of nowhere or whenever you drink water.
Nobody tells you that your legs will feel like literal jello if you go past 24hrs.
Nobody tells you that after a certain point you’ll have a constant headache.
Nobody tells you that your stomach will growl loud enough for a whole room of people to hear.
Nobody tells you about the pain in your ribs.
Nobody tells you that you’re going to feel like you’re going vomit the lack of anything in your stomach.
But what we do tell you, is that you’ll get used to it.

write bad poetry. 
wrap your mouth into a cliche. write about icarus, write about roses. write about the flowers in your ribs and the stain of your fingertips and the skin of your knees. write about cigarettes and getting high and kissing the wrong person. and space; write about space over and over in sixty iterations of it, write about star-blood and star-crossed and star-glowing, write about universes and galaxies and gladiators in constellations. write about the space between two people in a small room, write about the space that is too small no matter how big it is, write about the space that is too big no matter how small it is. write yourself a star and eat it, tinfoil-tasting, on the floor of your kitchen, while you regret missing your mother’s cooking. but write it.
write ugly. use too many undercase letters because you’re pretentious. USE ONLY CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE YOU’VE GOT A SCREAM TRAPPED UNDER YOUR FINGERNAILS. ,, cut & paste grammar (? who gives a shit ?) ,, r3inv3nt so much u come back 2 l33t speak, dial it down a bit. write in the language of flaubert, then dickens, then the language your father used before he learned english. then write the language of talking to your dog, then write the language of high school essays on books you never finished. utilize the word utilize where it don’t belong. fall in and out of love with contractions. accidentally become bukowski for a hot sec, grow out of it. 
write things you wish you hadn’t. write stuff so bad you can’t help groaning. write things that end in “a;sljflk jfg h” because they petered out while you were typing. write things that feel childish and use so much rhyme it throws you out of it. write things that feel grown-up and unfamiliar, too formal to function, up-their-own-asses. write things too enigmatic; forget what you wrote them about, but tell yourself it’s for the best. write things too obvious. go through a micro-poetry spell, go through a prose-poetry spell, fish the bottom of the box for x-ray goggles and write about how the cereal felt. write about your cat and the rug and un-deep fake-deep terrible stuff.
write things you really wish you hadn’t. stuff that hurts to read and hurts to look at later, stuff that makes your skin uncomfy and your body crawl. write stuff that looks better at the back of your closet. but stuff you can’t get rid of, really, not ever. stuff that, afterwards, makes you feel heavier. stuff that somehow, impossibly, kinda makes you lighter.
write about stuff you don’t really understand, write about social problems you barely experience, write about slam poetry. write about power outlets, write in the style of internet poets, write frost-length sonnets on how pink her lips are. 
write bad. write worse. write bottom-of-the-barrel, and then keep scraping it. keep digging in it. god, how many people are too scared of being bad that they just. never get around to it. that they never even start doing it. what if all they have to say is silly shit about lost love or greek myths or a good kiss. what if they’re bad at it.
be bad at it. do you know how fucking rebellious and wonderful that truly, i mean truly is? and that’s poetry, man. the act of being so vulnerable, you’re willing to completely suck at it. big ideas in small boxes. it takes a long time before you get the packaging to fit. 
go write bad poetry. i can’t wait to read it.

can't stop thinking about how the movement to get back into your body, this sort of return-to-oneself, centering-in-nature philosophy - it should have been really beautiful. it should have been about how we have become alienated from ourselves and from our communities, how we are removed from the sun, how we weren't made to be indoors and onscreen all day.
it worked for a while. we were okay being "dirty hippies", we liked going outside and doing yard work, we appreciated "ugly" food and lower materialism.
then it was. spend three dollars on this meditation app. come to our seminar for 5 weeks where we will ignore mental illness and instead focus on flatly denying negativity; that'll be 34 installments of 454.63. buy these clothes, buy this set of rings, buy this hair - take care of yourself! feel beautiful with natural-looking makeup that makes you look photoshopped and unreal! don't you want to be happy? you don't want to sit in any lawn, you want to be in the best lawn, make sure you keep that lawn pristine; just buy our riding mower and fold yourself into the seat. the diy kit to reuse your mason jars as planters will be 20 dollars. the kit to make bread from scratch will be 30. you don't need to worry about minimalism, we will sell it to you with these white-and-gold matched-set organizational things. don't take a bath, take a bath the right way, with candles and bath bombs and instagram fame. don't worry! you are relaxing! you are coming back into yourself and your body! it was worth it, working 60 hours a week, right? it was worth it, because you can finally afford a single pint of ice cream :) we love nature <3 we love you! we love everything you're purchasing.

Just some lil facts I thought might be useful 🌀
Number not moving on the scale? 😣
Try drinking at least 2-3 litres of water a day, when I was dehydrated and never drank water my weight barely moved and once I started doing this I actually shit for once and it had the whoosh effect and I lost a tonne of weight.😌
Try having a high cal day! I do this weekly every Friday without fail and lose consistently, be sure to look up your TDEE before you do this.✨
Do a little bit of exercise such as walking, it doesn’t have to be intense. Go at your own pace.🏃🏼‍♂️
Fasting for 12-16 hours, at that stage in fasting your body burns fat stores.🥝
Patience! Sometimes you just need to wait it out and it will come off especially if you’re in a deficit.
Can’t stress the last one enough, be persistent and you will reach your goals.
If you’re in a calorie deficit you’re going to lose weight even if it’s not right away don’t stress it.🍒

I don’t think people realize how different losing weight makes you look. Like yeah maybe your tummy gets smaller but the real difference is in your face. Once that double chin is gone and those cheek bones and jawline pop out you’re looking like a whole new person. It’s crazy.

There IS a difference between white passing, light skinned, and racially/ethnically ambiguous guys.
White passing is when someone is a person of color but are practically indistinguishable from a white person. Some white passing ppl are even blonde haired and blue eyed, but are still technically not white.
Light skinned is typically used when someone is clearly not white, usually because of their features, hair, etc. But still have lighter skin than usual.
And Racially/Ethnically ambiguous is when someone is once against still clearly a person of color but their race or ethnicity is still very unclear from their appearance, they can be light skinned but can also be dark skinned too.
Y'all (usually white ppl) really should learn these terms and what they mean before you just toss them around or ascribe them to yourselves (eg. A white person isn't light skinned, just white)
