so...where did Glamorosas go?

Carlos simply stopped updating them. As previously states 2015 was the last any content was produced. All accounts + the website simply stopped updating until the website just shut down. All of said accounts are totally inactive. Carlos still is active in his own time, but i assume after minimal growth ꒰ the twitter and instagram both have only 32 followers ꒱ in 2 years he called it quits. That is all the information available, and i hope Carlos one day decides to give his passion project a revisit!

hello everyone! for my first longform post, an introduction to an obscure girl oriented series, Glamorosas!

What's Glamorosas?

Las Glamorosas is an indie project made by Carlos Marrero, a fashion and beauty illustrator! As described on the website and in this image, "Glamorosas is a wholesome positive portrayal of Latina girlhood and Hispanic life. It seeks to build Latina's confidence and reinforce a sense of empowerment and purpose by instilling pride in their unique heritage."

for the series there were a pinterest, facebook, twitter, and instagram page. the announcement of the project first came via facebook, july 9th 2013. the last post documented for glamorosas would also be on febuary 11th 2015 however both the facebook and twitter would be used until 2017 to promote Carlos' personal shop.

outside of socials, the Glamorosas found a home on their own website, lasglamorosas.com which is now defunct. most of the website on the internet archive is completely broken, unfortunately, however we can tell that there were a few things on the page such as flash games, printables + colour pages, featured articles, and a shop. i could find 0 info on what might have been in the shop.

onto the cast of our lovely series, we get an introduction to the characters name's in this youtube video. the webpage also gave each character a bio, the actual pages are very funky so i will detail them in text here.

Origin: Mexicana

Personality: Problem-solver and detective with an intense desire to know it all. The most loyal - friends know that she will always be there when needed

Style: She likes outrageous clothes and the rebel style For everyday, you will find her in t-shirts, jeans and boots

Tita ♡

Origin: Cubana

Personality: A dreamer and a romantic-she is considered by friends to be warm and fuzzy. She enjoys writing music and playing guitar.

Style: She loves make-up, so she is the make-up artist of the bunch. Her clothes are hip, romantic and sweet and also very pink!

Lisette ♡

Origin: Salvadoreña

Personality: Clever and full of new ideas. She is the center of attention by creating harmony among her friends

Style: Always wearing the latest fashions to one to aways in a different look. From romantic dresses to work-out outfits. she can pull any lock off!

Glory ♡

Origin: Puertonqueña

Personality: Natural entertainer that likes to attract attention, Her upbeat and sunny personality make her the life of the party.

Style: Trendsetter with a love for designer labels She loves to wear what others shy away from.

Alejandra ♡

Origin: Colombiana

Personality: Author, inventor and communicator. She loves to write poetry and pop songs, and one day, she wants to write a book.

Style: Chameleon: her style is always changing. She is the queen of accessories & fashion magazines.

There was also this mom character with no name or bio.

whats up, im alice! this is a blog dedicated to the preservation and archival of all sorts of things. im pretty well versed in dolls, vintage toys, magical girls, otome games, shoujosei animanga, idols, general girly media like tv shows and books, and fashion. i feel like all art and characters deserve preservation and safety because of the love put into them and the joy they may bring to others. i think peoples other beautiful hard work deserves a safe keeping and memorial. i am biased towards girly things due to my own interests as well as the fact i think the history of things targeted at women and children in general is often ignored, and needs extra consideration.

on here i will post my own scans + images, audio files, and as much information as i can possibly give on my subject. due to the varying nature of what im into and post ill try to build up an intricate tagging system so you can find just what youre looking for! any photos or scans i post unbelonging to me shall be credited when available. i hope you guys enjoy my content! if you want more casual stuff im also on twitter @deathfrill, my main blog is @lesbunan, and i am making a youtube ill post more about when the time comes. have an awesome day!
