Boy do I have a game series for you.

I love the idea of dead gods. Not in the sense of “hey i killed something supernaturally strong” but in the sense of “i killed it and it’s still a god.” It is still worshipped. prayers are still answered. miracles are performed in its name, even as it lies pierced by a thousand swords and burning with chemical fire. even as it drifts through vacuum, decapitated and bleeding molten rock. in cosmic spite of being shot through each eye and hurled into a plasma reactor, it still radiates the power of the divine in a way that primitive death cannot smother. the nature of godhood is not so simple as to be tied to the mortality, or immortality, of any living being.

Golisa anyone?

Disney's Gargoyles won my fanart poll for August and I was super happy to return to this classic! I didn't get to watch the show much as a little kid because we didn't have Disney Channel, but whenever we stayed in a hotel I would look for it. It introduced so many of us to one of my favorite voice actors of all time, Keith David, and helped make Goliath one of my favorite characters!

There are so many great Gargoyles versions of my favorite media, Avatar the Last Airbender by @youkaiyume years ago, and Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by @straysketches, but have not seen any for Inuyasha. Well if you want something done, you got to do it yourself. So I did.

Inuyasha became "Ishiyasha" Ishi (rock or stone) yasha (forest spirit). And his wings were modeled after his hakama sleeves.

In this version I thought it would suit Kagome to be studying medicine or to become a nurse since she became more familiar with healing herbs in the original story.

Personally, I love Sango's demon slayer uniform, so I stuck with that for the design and well as having these wings look a bit more like her boomerang.

Miroku's scars around his wind tunnel are modeled after Kintsukuroi, the process of repairing broken pottery with gold filling.

Shippo is probably the smallest gargoyle here while Kirara gets to be the gargoyle beast of the team.

Of course, Kaede is the Hudson of the clan, with their missing eye and medieval accents. Tried to model Sesshomaru's horns after his crescent mark on his forehead and some of the extra shoulder spikes off his armor. And of course he likes to cover his missing arm with his wing.

It was fun to make Kikyo the Coldstone in this version. Nothing like having your ex being brought back to life as a shattered cyborg! I also added in some armor inspired by her clone's from the third Inuyasha movie.
