I hate HATE when shows break the fourth wall to mock fans who are invested in character growth and ships. I know that What We Do in the Shadows has always been a sitcom, and that return to status quo has always been a part of its formula, but it seems mean spirited to spend the last episode making fun of the fact that some fans were hoping for some kind of emotional catharsis for the characters they love. They could have stayed close to the sitcom spirit without being so mocking, in my opinion. I don’t even really go here and I’m annoyed!

I guess you could say Guillermo grew because he didn’t want to be a vampire anymore, but I feel like that doesn’t even feel earned because his attempt to become one was botched and not given by Nandor.

Anyway, if you wanted to see Nandor and Guillermo kiss or Guillermo get turned into a vampire, may I suggest that you actually need to be shipping Armand and Daniel from Interview with a Vampire. Human and vampire romance, emotionally sweeping love that is definitely consummated, and a vampire that finally turns his lover into a vampire after resisting for years. Book canon now, show canon in the upcoming season(s), and featured in a ton of excellent fic and art. Come hang out with us, we’ve got catharsis to spare over here.
