It upsets me this has so many likes tbh. Van was never in remission. Her cancer had "stopped metastisizing", which means it had stopped spreading to new regions of her body. This does not mean remission. This does not mean you are getting better. The cancer you do have will still continue to grow and worsen. It was positive news, but it didnt mean Van was getting better, she was always getting worse just not at the rate they'd feared. Tai's hope was if they made sacrifices Van might go into remission but that hypothesis never ended up being tested.
