Some ramblings on the table scene from ep 12

It took me some time to undersand what exactly bothered me with this scene, because I'm not very good at generalization like dry, no chemistlry, no flow etc.

First I will say, I don't mind the clothes whatsoever. Yes, in the book they were naked, but they dont have to be. For that matter I didn't mind the clothes in the stables scene in season 5, just that they insisted on keeping the "look down" line which didn't make sense there (look down and see all the skirts??)

I got the direction they went for, with Jamie not going along with Claires wishes (kiss first) but I wish he teased her more and then got into this "I must have ye now" thing. Not sure how they could have done it (maybe instead of cutting to John and back all the time?)

The lighting and angles were weird. Good god, the lighting reminded me of ep 6 when they went from warm daylight to blue green darkness seemingly in the same place, a few minutes apart, multiple times.

And the camera angles and the light made it look like they didn't really kiss. (which is their right, of course, but I wish they worked something out)

Their brief reunion when Jamie first came back and they kissed is way hotter and I think it's ridiculous.

And what in god's name possessed them to show climax when there is clearly not enough time to do that? (but I have a general problem with this show in this regard so whatever) They could have faded that and add some rain and thunder effects and call it a day. (like they did in the end of season 6) It could also work in their favor to make the scene darker.

probably unpopular opinion, but I like Leerie as a character (yes I'm calling her that) I mean, she's like your typical (psycho) girl/fangirl next door, and to be honest if I was 16 and my crush took a beating for me and then kissed me (i mean my crush at the time was the drummer from rammstein and scully from x files but anyway) I would be totally convinced that he is totally into me and my ultimate y/n fanfic is real. Then, psycho as I am I would of course try to get his wife burned as a witch, because I would be sure, as soon as she is out of the picture, he would be with me. And then, after a few years, she actually would be out of the picture and, what do you know, he actually is with me! Huh. well, I mean we are both so messed up by this point but, hey, I was right!

In a more serious tone,(well, not really) poor Joanie. I hope she will finally find peace from her messed up parents as a nun lmao. Did she had to live with Leerie and her, um, lover all this time?? good god.
