gosh I loved all of this, and the way he comforted her when she cried and constantly was there, taking care in any way he could I just AAAAAAH
and the bit they added in the previous episode, with "the stars willna burn out" in the book it was after her injury and other drama, she was so tired, all the despair and past trauma just caught up with her and Jamie was so soft and "when did you last eat" and I just melted into the floor.
this passage is one of my favorite Jamie and Claire conversations in all of the books. more than anything else it shows how much they love and understand each other. how thrilling to see this so wonderfully adapted in 7x16 "A Hundred Thousand Angels"!
“Sassenach? Are ye all right?” A segment of the darkness on the floor moved suddenly and resolved itself into a Jamie-shaped shadow.
“Yes. Are you?”
That got me the breath of a laugh.
“I’ll do, Sassenach,” he said softly, and I heard the rustle of his movement as he got his feet under him. “I’m glad ye feel well enough to ask. D’ye need water?”
“Er . . . rather the opposite, really,” I said.
“Oh? Oh.” He stooped, a pale blur in his shirt, to reach under the bed. “D’ye need help?”
“If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have waked you up,” I said, a little testily. “I didn’t think I could wait for Mrs. Macken or Dottie, though.” He snorted a little and got me under the arms, lifting me into a sitting position.
“Now, then,” he murmured. “It’s no like ye’ve not done this—and a good many worse things—for me.”
While this was true, it didn’t make matters easier.
“You can let go now,” I said.
“Perhaps leave the room?”
“Perhaps not,” he said, still mildly, but with a tone indicating that his mind was made up on the subject. “If I let go, ye’ll fall on your face, and ye ken that perfectly well, so stop talkin’ and be about your business now, aye?”
It took some time—anything that put pressure on my abdomen, including the act of urinating, hurt remarkably—but the business was accomplished and I was eased back down onto the pillow, gasping. Jamie bent and picked up the chamber pot, clearly intending to hurl the contents out the window in customary Edinburgh fashion.
“No, wait!” I said. “Keep that ’til morning.”
He paused.
“What for?” he asked cautiously. Clearly he suspected I might still be unhinged from fever and be contemplating some grossly irrational use of the pot’s contents, but he didn’t like to say so, in case I had something logical, if bizarre, in mind. I would have laughed, but it hurt too much.
“I need to check, once there’s light, to be sure there’s no blood,” I said. “My right kidney’s very sore; I want to be sure there’s no damage.”
“Ah.” He set the utensil down carefully and, to my surprise, opened the door and glided out, moving soft-footed as a hunting fox. I heard one squeak as he stepped on a stair tread, but nothing more until a glow betokened his return with a candlestick.
“Have a look, then,” he said, picking up the pot again and bringing it to me. “I kent ye’d just fret about it did ye have to wait for daybreak.”
He sounded resigned, but this small thoughtfulness brought me close to tears. He heard the catch in my breathing and leaned close, alarmed, bringing the light up to my face.
“Are ye all right, Sassenach? Is it bad, then?”
“No,” I said, and wiped my eyes hastily on a corner of the sheet. “No—it—it’s fine. I just —oh, Jamie, I love you!”

Appreciation post for the wonder that's Cait Balfe as Claire Fraser.
She brings her to life. She just needs a camera on her face, nothing else, not even lines, to make your own heart break and be pulled together again.
That's it. That's the post.

Maybe he tied it too tight because he has much more experience taking things off than putting them on 😉 and hopefully it will stay that way and Claire will not need this sort of help, but the hurt/comfort is strong with these two 😩

yes we would 😁 and such a wild ride we had🤩🤪 this is from 2014!
“No wonder he was so good with horses, I thought blearily, feeling his fingers rubbing gently behind my ears, listening to the soothing, incomprehensible speech. If I were a horse, I’d let him ride me anywhere.”

In my preparation for droughtlander, I started watching Poldark. To my surprise I actually was not aware of this until I read that Eleanor Tomlinson, from Couple next door, plays Demelza here. As for the series, it's allright. I find that it really scratches that immersion itch with beautiful visuals. I find the details more important than plot anyway. No one is having passionate love there, but I actually prefer no love scenes than cringy unnatural ones to be honest.

ramblings about outlander
I saw people complain a lot about the Ian and Rachel's wedding night, and I must admit I also didn't really need to see it, but I do like them as a couple in the books. Actually their first night in the books made sense to me. I mean I did laugh, because, again, a Fraser found himself a healing woman who is bold in bed. And some parts of it were kinda hot, not gonna lie. Also, he really did spent a lot of time with Jamie and Claire camping and they were intimate in those times, while he pretended to be asleep. There is this moment in the book that I wish I could erase from my head where he is laying in their camp, hearing them make love and then proceeds to do his buisness, while contemplating whether to think of Geilis or Brianna. Like I don't kink shame but bruh.💀
About the 7x15 episode: I really liked the way they weaved the different JamieClaire conversations from differents parts of the books. Missed the grimy miserable surroundings. Everyone looked too tidy and put together. To quote Jamie here, "braided to be seemly". Total mess with Brianna's story, I roughly remembered what was going on and still struggled to follow "wait, she's where now? Lallibroch? why? and they are going where?.." but the most important part I suppose that they will get to where they need to and reunite with Roger. And of course, gut ripping performances at the end. Claire's shallow breathing through pain and clenched teeth, Jamie's desperation and the way he was trembling, afraid to touch her. His writing on the poor chap's back, not sure why they chose to get rid of his shirt, maybe it was too challenging to write on a shirt. I think it was on a shirt in the book, I did go back and it said "wrote on his white back" which I assumed was a shirt, but maybe it wasn't? Anyway, it was a very strong image in both cases.
Another rambling I've got to get out is about all the teasers from starz, for next episodes or for the second half of season 7. I hate 'em. Yes, I get that the goal of these was to get people to watch, but how rediculous was that snippet they released some time ago where they include Claire's little "do that again" and manipulate the scene WE ALREADY WATCHED to appear as if Jamie says "I want you. Badly" which is clearly edited because he said "He wants you. Badly" talking about Tom Christy. 🙄 Unless of course he somehow gets to say that in a hot love scene the next episode, in which case I will eat my socks and salt them well first and put it on tiktok.
