Even in the darkest moments of despair, you must know that despair itself contains elements that, if you know how to use them, will help you regain courage. For despair is a state that possesses tremendous power. Proof: if it is capable of destroying an entire kingdom — yourself, with all the riches and possibilities that are hidden in your body, heart, mind, soul, and spirit — then it is truly very powerful. So why not try to master this power and direct it in a positive direction? Man does not realize all the possibilities that are hidden in him. Even when he thinks he is completely exhausted, brought to the limit, in reality he still has enormous resources that can help him continue on his path.

Love expands consciousness, and wisdom illuminates it.
Love expands consciousness, and wisdom illuminates it. The image on the screen of your consciousness can be large but blurry, or small but clear. This is because in the first case, you did not know how to work with wisdom, and in the second case, you did not know how to work with love. Wisdom and love must also be implemented in order for your consciousness to be vast and illuminated. If so many people have a narrowed field of consciousness, it is because they do not care about anyone, they do not love anyone. Their consciousness does not even move away from their skull by a few centimeters. They repeat: "Me, me, me ..." On the contrary, the consciousness of the one who loves expands: it goes to look for people to circle around them, stay close to them, touch them, kiss them. Look: everyone who has love never stays still, they constantly go to others, take care of their affairs (sometimes even bother them!) But consciousness can expand without illumination: the images of love are blurry, they do not give you accuracy in behavior. That is why love is not enough, it is necessary for wisdom to be associated with it.

Life* is a long voyage of discovery in the course of which we explore unknown regions of the world and, above all, the unknown regions of our own inner world. Some of the regions we visit are hospitable and we can linger in them at least for a while. Others are hostile and we must avoid them, or, if we have the misfortune to set foot in them, we must flee from them as quickly as possible.
Poets and philosophers often speak of life as a journey, for even if you spend your entire life at home in the same room, you can find within yourself every phenomenon of nature and every variety of landscape that the world has to offer. There are days when you complain, ‘I don’t know what the matter is, I feel stifled’. Well, this is because, without realizing it, you have descended too far into the subterranean regions and the atmosphere is weighing you down. The answer is to rise to a higher level and get out into the fresh air. And if you sometimes feel buoyant and inspired, as though the laws of gravity had lost their hold on you, it is because, consciously or unconsciously, you have succeeded in scaling an inner mountain.

In their prayers and meditations, disciples must always begin by turning to the saints, prophets, initiates and great masters, for it is they who have the mission to look after human beings. Then, they can rise to a higher plane and invoke the angels, for of all the celestial hierarchies, it is the angels who are closest to human beings; it is they who hear their prayers and give them the help they ask for. Only then should they try to invoke the archangels. As for the principalities and the more exalted ranks of the angelic hosts, it is useless to try and make yourself heard by them. There are countless worlds in the infinite reaches of space, filled with billions of creatures, and these exalted hierarchies have immense tasks to fulfil at great distances from the earth; they have very little contact with our planet.
Those who have been given the mission of taking care of humanity are mainly beings who once lived on earth and, having left it, still remember it. They are still attached to this world; they still have promises to keep. Disciples must know about the heavenly hierarchies*, but if they want their prayers to be answered, they must address them to those who are nearest.
