To stay with you for one night I would throw away my whole life, sacrifice a hundred persons, […] be capable of anything.

Alocasia Reginula
alocasia black velvet
I'm finally, after time of combined procrastination and patience, I've started to get some Alocasias. I love this family, their dark, rich colored leaves and fun shapes really catch my eye. And of course, anything labeled "black velvet" is immediately coming home with me, so this has been a wishlist plant for some time. As the name suggests, this plant's leaves are soft to the touch. They are in direct sunlight in this photo (not all the time, they need med-bright indirect light) so you can really see the green popping underneath the leaves. Thank you to my mother (no, she is not on this website) for the pot that she got me for Easter- I think it suits quite nicely. I am going to name this one Morticia. You know, to match Gomez.

one of my favourite things about tumblr is how it's all lovingly handpicked. there's no algorithm forcing things onto your feed, but instead long chains of mutuals and followers passing posts around simply because they liked it and ooh, maybe you might like it too. the entire website runs on people's sheer love of other people's posts and it's probably the best thing about this website. at least it's definitely the reason that this place feels more like a community than any other social media.

late autumn. gazing from balconies into the cold night. feeling the breeze on a walk through the forest. warming your hands with your cup of hot chocolate. being excited to read the new book you bought. collecting pretty leaves for pressing. creating autumn playlists. sharing an umbrella with someone you love. your laughter, forming little clouds of cold breath.
