So...I MOVED!!

I changed the name on this blog and have officially made a separate writing blog where I can now reply and ask from there! I'm going to be reblogging and moving all of my WIP stuff over to @drabbleitout (keeping the name cuz I kinda like it)

It took me all day but I think I got a good base going.

I don't know if this is a good idea

But I’m gonna do it anyway.

It’s been hard for me to follow other writing blogs since this is a side blog that’s connected to my personal. So I think I’ve decided I’m going to start a separate writing blog, and then move everything over there.

I’m going to start coding today, and I hope to have it done soon. So if you start seeing weird stuff going on, that’s why. I’m going to try keeping the same blog name on the new one, and change the name of this one.

We’ll see how well it goes over…. but just as a heads up! I will probably be moving soon!

Letting a blatantly-shady friend do some reading over of some of Ira's action scene. You know, since they spent their younger days doing *cough* and *clears throat*. Or, as he calls it, "Tasche und tauchen". And all the sudden, from the living room I hear

"YOU DON'T CATCH YOURSELF WITH A SHOULDER! DO YOU WANT TO DISLOCATE IT?! YOUR FEET! USE YOUR FEET! WHAT ARE THEY MADE FOR?!"

So, I guess it's safe to say I've got some editing to do.

I RELATE SO MUCH TO THIS BOY. Wow, the all or nothing aspect, playing string instruments, and speeding tickets OMG I'm all about this! Thank You to whoever requested this and THANK YOU for sharing this shining star with us. I also love his youthful personality that shows through this intro. SO, as an autonomous writing blog of my word, this one’s for @blueisawriter2k18

Jackson Alistair Lewis, age 17. Student of philosophy, history, psychology, poetry, and many other highly subjective subjects that end in Y. His love of string instruments started out classical, but he has a very real goal of becoming the lead guitarist in his favorite band. Nevermind that they’ve been gone since 1989. His interest in a story his faerie-born mother used to tell him led him to discover it could actually be an ancient prophecy. Unfortunately, events start unfolding before he’s gotten to share his discovery, so it may just be up to him to take the hero’s roll, himself, and save the day.

He’s very all-or-nothing. He’ll either talk your ear off, or stay silent (though he has a few people he can communicate with comfortably in silence). His clothes are either vibrant and eccentric, or plain and black and white. His focus, especially visually, is either pin-point sharp - wide-eyed and locked on - or distant, and hazy. Even his movements tend to have too much snap, too much force, resulting in a few skating-related injuries, a small collection of speeding tickets, and some really awful handwriting. If he isn’t completely excited about something, he may come off as entirely indifferent, though this isn’t necessarily true. Often, his enthusiasm is more apparent through the volume of his speech (both in number of words, and actual loudness) than in the actual words chosen.

He often seems fairly serious, with his selective speech and dark clothing, which is partly intentional - he is playing an epic hero, now, which is a very important and serious business. But he is actually a literal ray of sunshine, an open book who loves 80s pop music, big square retro cars, and really large sunflowers, and who hates keeping secrets.

Fantasy Biology: Winged Humanoids (feathers)

What fantasy setting hasn’t considered plonking some winged humanoids down in it at some point? Whether they’re angels or birdmen or something a little more left field, the basic premise is that somehow this basically human-shaped being received a pair of functional wings stuck to its back. It’s very tempting to just ‘magic’ this through but if we were going to try to make this function in a biological sense, how would be go about it? It’s a significant challenge because while most birds are designed for flight, humans are basically designed to fall out of trees.

The first bump in the road to creating our winged humanoids is that these creatures have six limbs, something no living vertebrate species currently has. In addition to having an extra pair of limbs to accommodate in the body, the wings and arms are typically depicted arising from roughly the same anatomical location. That’s already a very crowded torso, and it’s only going to get worse as we stack on the flight muscles.

nooooooooooo don't expose me like this!! 🙈 I'm a sucker for protective Ira and I'll admit there's a little of this in here. I do like the idea of Ira becoming very protective over Myghal, because he's never had a true blue friend like him before. Ira goes into this job knowing the dangers they're going to come across, but comes to realize he doesn't want to put Myghal through that.

But Ohmuhguh I love the way you wrote this. Idk I just do. You make it sound so soft and nice haha. Thank you guys, so much. You've been so nice about my oc's and my wip! All of you!! I've been rambling about them and I'm so excited to see other people liking them -especially Ira, because he comes from a special place personally and I hope to really do good things with these two!

I did Nano last year, and that was enough for me. This year I don't think I'll have the time or room for stress for it.

YOU COULD SO DO THIS!! Your traditional drawings are great, and I know if you got into digital you could do this too! I know you could. You'd blow me out the water!! (Omg Ira's been adopted?!!? Holy cow THANK YOU!!)

I grew up drawing a lot with my aunt, who's a painter. Digital I didn't get into until High school. But oh no, I'm so basic and embarrassed by my stuff. This takes me hours and it's so little of something haha I rarely do any drawing much anymore. Writing is just so much easier (and more fun!)

Serious Sci Fi™ always assumes that alien ships, weapons, uniforms, etc., will be in Serious Colours™ - black/white/grey/dark red/etc. 

but like. what makes a colour Serious is totally culturally/environmentally defined.

what i’m saying is if you don’t have at least one alien race with terrifying badasses who dress entirely in pastel pinks and yellows you’re a goddamn coward.
