its pissing me off how succesful canada has been making themselves out to be the victims here without nary an apology or thought to the teams they have been systematically cheating against for apparently the last 7 YEARS. you are not the victim here just because people call you cheaters, you ARE cheaters, regardless if you knew about or not (and thats a big IF frankly).

I want more people to know that while the Palestine Olympic team consists of only 8 athletes, at least 69 Palestinian Olympic athletes have been killed since October 2023. This includes athletes who were going to compete in these games and retired athletes such as Majed Abu Maraheel, the first Palestinian Olympian, who died of kidney failure in a refugee camp product of lack of medical treatment.
Remember them during these games.

Because so many people keep on defending her actions. Every single incident is completely unacceptable and dangerous. Other players wouldn't get away with it.
And no, it obviously doesn't mean that hate speech against her is okay. It goes without saying.

The difference between how Katie McCabe and Lauren James are perceived by fans and the media is actually very interesting. I do believe that part of it comes from racism but I don't think that's the only thing.
Katie McCabe actively talks about how she likes the physicality of the game and how it should be even more 'aggressive'. She has established herself as an aggressive player and the media also promotes her as such. People know that she does it consciously and deliberately, even tactically. She actively tries to wind up players and provoke physical play because it plays to her advantage.
Whilst when it comes to Lauren James (and most other players) the essential thought is that her actions are emotional. She makes stupid and unnecessary faults because she's frustrated and cannot control her emotions.
So, really, the main difference is the narrative and perception. Players who own up more to them being aggressive on the pitch are criticised less because it is looked at as an important part of their playing style.

Not only did James step on Alozie, she also pushes her into the ground with both hands when she supports herself to stand up. That is already bad. Then she steps on her. What the fuck.
Absolutely. Just disgusting and there's no way that Sarina Wiegman defended her because it was late in the game and she actually is the sweetest person she knows.
Dear god, when will people finally tell her when things are wrong. Entitlement will get even bigger when she gets away with such a disgusting foul.

I've seen some debate about whether Risse should start Román Haug instead of Hegerberg in the next game. I would understand the reason for this debate if both players were injury free, but Ada is injured; not only do we not know if she will be able to play but also, if she can, we should analyze if it is wise for her to be in the starting eleven, I don't think it is very wise to start a player who has recently been injured. I understand that in the next game Norway has everything at stake and maybe Ada would be willing to take the risk, but in the end it will be the player's own health that will decide. I really don't understand why we have to speculate about whether Román Haug can take Hegerberg's place when the poor woman might not even be able to play.

Do you guys ever think about the fact that now the world cup is getting serious and nations are starting to get knocked out and we only have three weeks left of this tournament before we go back to our silly lives without football every day?

I bet you anything that she had to choose between an apology and being sent home. Either way I am 90% sure she will quit the NORWNT after the WWC.
The picture is just 🥶🥶🥶 and sends shivers down my spine.

Pernille and Magda, welcome to Lyon besties 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Yay, I would love that! Plus, I think that Lyon is the best team for them. If they want to have the chance of winning the Champions, they need to go to a competitive team so definetely not Madrid. Barça doesn't need them, they already have world class players. Now, Lyon needs to get new players as much of the team is leaving after the contracts are over: even if Lyon is not on its best moment, it's still a really good club. They also need to take into account that if they want to play in the same team, they need to "adapt" more than they would have to if they were okay with playing in different teams.

with alsu, she was meant to be brought on loan this season. however the contract fell through last minute apparently
I haven't seen this message until today and I imagine it's from a long time ago, I'm so sorry! I didn't know they wanted to send Alsu on loan, although it makes the most sense. I'd like her to stay at the club when her contract is up, but I doubt it because she's young and I imagine she'd rather play for a weaker team than a strong one but on the bench. I just hope she stays in the English league.

You know players are not going to renew with their current team when after being eliminated from the Champions League they say this instead of "we'll come back stronger" or something similar.

Look, I know that Sarah is by far not one of the most loved players and I am the first to admit that sometimes she should keep certain comments to herself BUT I think she was very brave to be the first to leave the French national team. Obviously I don't believe in selecting players purely on sentimentality and if Hervé Renard thinks she is no longer fit to go to the World Cup, let her not go. However, I feel a little bad that her history with the team ends like this. Everyone who had problems with Diacre has come back except her, and again, she has to earn her place, but I would like her to be the one to retire from the national team in a few years and not them to “retire” her.
