Change stands outside your room and twists the doorknob (sometimes for years) without entering, waits for you to ignore the sound, turn away, stare blank at your dreams–all the wings pinned on the wall– before it starts throwing, bruising itself, snapping its limbs backward trying to get in (needing to be let in), or just stands silent, seethes like a disappointed parent before it kicks the door down.
