i want to read your thoughts on the WING series..if it's not too much ! i am enjoying reading your previous theories.
Thank you for being interested in my theories & giving them a chance! (though apologies for not having many posts up, because I keep most things in my drafts - (^◇^;)But my breakdown of WINGS would be a little much, because I have a lot of thoughts on each of them & how they connect. &with 7 concepts, it's a little long. But if you or anyone else would be interesting in reading them anyways, I'll post them.If you just want to ask about particular members that's okay too.Thank you again giving them a read.

Will you be doing every single members theory?
Every member? Well for now, I'm still planning a few small write ups for Agust D promotions, like BTS 화양연화 era similarities & 'so far away ' when that drops.I still have an entire backlog of entries from the last era to post, but since no one really itches for that, I just left them for what's relevant right now.Was there a different promotion/era you wanted to see written about?

Your theories are keeping me occupied. It's interesting to read the theories from your point of view!
Ahhhhh thank you so much for giving them your attention! Honestly, I'm usually really quiet & awkward online, so posting these are kind of stressful, but messages like yours makes it feel worth it. Thank you for taking the time. If you ever want to discuss your angle on any of them, please feel free to message me again~

.Agust D “give it to me”MV: another rundown.
Tumblr media
Well the MV came out about 3:30AMCST on iTunes for me a few nights ago & about a few minutes later, YouTube & Twitter’s BigHit page confirmed I wasn’t delusional. So I was pretty much broadsided by all of this.
The timing is so random though, I wonder whether BigHit is trying to seriously test us or iTunes got antsy & made a mistake with the release time & BigHit needed to catch up.
Either way I’m now wide awake at odd hours & contemplating never sleeping again.
Note: Though I’m a bit late posting this, I wanted to get my thoughts out anyways- & this write up is a little more theory driven than the last, since I just felt an over all idea happening & read into the visual cues. Also I tie a lot of this rundown with the initial impression/ideas I got from the “Agust D” MV which I wrote up .:here:. So if you have a minute you should skim that too~
&speaking of, if the last video was a metaphor for Yoongi’s struggle to overcome his past hardships & anxieties leading up to debut, this video hints at the mental frenzy of Yoongi actually being an idol.
If you think about it, even the MV’s themselves contrast each other appropriately. Instead of the daytime, quick-fire, sharp & punchy rap scenes of “Agust D”, on a set that was physically moving, “give it too me” was shot strictly at night, with the cameras rolling more smoothly/stalking a little more closely with longer takes, on a set that couldn’t move at all. Almost like watching a special live stage performance.
“Agust D” still
Tumblr media
vs.
“give it to me”
Tumblr media
In fact the whole MV gave off a more ‘polished’ vibe, as one expects from an idol now. With strong lighting on their outside set & consistent color scheme throughout.
& speaking of, due to the lack of blue scenes in this MV, which I took as an indicator of Yoongi’s past/depression, I take it as a sign that Yoongi is no longer facing the same struggles as he was in the “Agust D” MV, having won that battle when he chose to cut himself free & break out to the top of the house he was trapped in.
Tumblr media
So when “Agust D” ended with him heading into the back part of the trailer again, in full color, it showed that he was ready to either make peace or battle whatever else was back there. But overall it’s still a dark place he retreats to.
Tumblr media
But something epic must’ve went down, because when we see Yoongi again in this MV, he’s completely unconscious in the utterly destroyed trailer. &this time, he’s jolted awake by a nightmare of when he was tied up & struggling alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the first time we’re seeing the hand tied scenes in full color, too & that makes these flashbacks more haunting as they continue to remind him of the personal hell he’s faced, until he gathers himself enough to get out of there.
Tumblr media
& that’s when we see everything has been destroyed. Wooden planks, fallen wires, dust everywhere; any coziness this trailer house had in the last MV, is now completely gone.
Tumblr media
Yoongi has also taken hits, with bruises & scratches on his face, & like before, he knows he can’t stay in this dark broken box. But this time, he leaves with more ease than before, because he’s done this before. It’s like those days when you’re feeling sad or panicked, but you have to go out anyways, so you push on. It’s still there, but you get better at managing it, like Yoongi does over the debris.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Yoongi once again kicks his way out of his destructive headspace, we finally get the sense of relief, but it’s short lived as the camera retreating back not only lets us take in a breath, but also the amount of destruction that physically surrounds him.
It’s nothing like when he kicks open the door in “Agust D” & there’s this open road he gets to speed forward on, instead everything is the opposite. The house is turned over & all the vehicles lay broken in some way, never to move again. Even the ladder that he used to climb to the roof of the trailer house is completely gone in this MV.
Tumblr media
Yet Yoongi still owns the terrain. Even when he’s not moving forward like he wants too- he’s immediately seeks out the better vantage point, standing tall as if declaring that he has survived & arrived. Practically moving from one battle onto the next.
Tumblr media
Out here is when the camera work starts to really shine, too. The use of wide angles & zooms creates movement, when there honestly isn’t very much, while still keeping you keenly focused on the subject. I mean location wise, Yoongi only walked around in a small triangle between the trailer & the gray car. No where else. But you wouldn’t notice due to the camera work & that’s a very clever gimmick worth mentioning.
Also, switching often from an overhead wide angle view to tight ground shots, definitely brings more intimacy into the closeups, & it feels more honest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s also a character shift that happens in this MV. &it’s drastic enough that it made me think that this vid was about his idol life.
After Yoongi raps the line “I won’t live like that even if I die”** Yoongi goes from sitting on the car to a cut away where he’s now on the ground, suddenly all cleaned up.
Head to toe he looks the part of the Suga/Agust D persona that the media & masses is use to seeing; polished, decked out, put together. Even his makeup is more pronounced & not a single thing reveals the torn jeans, ‘just casually walked out of that flipped trailer’ Yoongi we’ve just seen.
This is idol mode & he bares no wounds that we can see.
Tumblr media
Yet when the camera closes in on him from the ground, the pace of the video changes to something more tense. Yoongi’s switch was like a show of his commitment to being an idol, but not being 100% comfortable with it causes a sort of restless unease.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This comes out full force for the rest of the video as Yoongi begins pacing around like a caged tiger, the fringes of his actions a little irritated. & the camera gingerly follows, swaying in & out of focus like we’re trying to chase him to keep up, like the press covering his every move.
In “Agust D” Yoongi raps the line:
“This K-pop category ain’t enough size for me.”**
& in this one he raps another:
“I was born from a tiger so I can’t live like a dog.”**
But here he’s wandering in this small space, (you can literally see him making small circles around the lot) probably feeling like one, because even though being an idol ensures certain opportunities, with all it’s rules & limitations, it isn’t fulfilling enough. & the restrictions starts to weigh on him. He wants more freedom beyond this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Only acts of destruction seem to give him pause, since shattering the car window & throwing the lighter, breaks the momentum. Yoongi takes the time, because he likes breaking apart the idol stereotype & does what he can to leave his mark, while he’s there, & burning away everything else in his way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But that is not his endgame.
The reoccurring drive Yoongi has in both MV’s so far, is that no matter what, he has to keep moving forward, & when he can’t do that, he climbs above it. He has to in order to reach higher & grander goals.
In “Agust D” he had the ladder & when that is lost, he knows no one is just going to show up & hand him one, so Yoongi scales the underside of the flipped car, using the wreckage to his advantage. His determination is fitting; in the song Yoongi implies he’ll never beg, but he’ll take everything he can get, because ultimately, he’ll use it to his advantage like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once at the top, you can see why Yoongi wanted to get there, the backdrop pulls all the way up & we see the evening sky opening behind him; moon shining just as brightly as he is. & it’s like that beautiful view on the mountain peak, that you can only see when you’ve gone through the pain of the climb.
Tumblr media
&Yoongi relishes in it. To be above the wreckage, the fires, the madness, is liberating & completely worth the effort. Everything seems more beautiful when he makes it there, even the fire acts as an assesory to the sky. & as the camera goes wider, the chaos actually lines everything up perfectly to finish the scene. This is Yoongi’s stage.
Tumblr media
This time, Yoongi doesn’t go back into the trailer.
Theory of things:
This whole thing is more theory driven then the last one so I’ll just point out some interesting side notes here:
So far both MV’s have featured:
‘dual’ Yoongi(s): ‘Agust D’ had ‘blue/past Yoongi” vs ‘present’ day ///// ‘give it to me’: battle mode vs idol mode
Yoongi knocked out at the beginning & awakens with a jolt by nightmares.
Images of tail lights, sirens, fireman & police lights, cars on fiiire
Yoongi needing to get out of that trailer home & kicking open the door to do it.
Yoongi climbing on top of the trailer house.
That last note is still one of the most important aspect of these MV’s & here’s why.
If that trailer house is like a physical representation of his depression & rough past, then it’s of no surprise that in order to become better & reach even higher, it’s his own anxieties that he has to over come. So by literally climbing on top of it, in a way he conquers it, because he was able to rise even above his own mental struggles.
Do you know what else is interesting? That in either MV’s, we can’t see the full open sky until Yoongi can situate himself at the top & I think that speaks volumes in itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m going to wait till ‘so far away’ is out before I post more about the HYYH relation, but I’ll put up a prediction post before that. **lyric translations by @papercrowns on Twitter

.Agust D. “give it to me” & “so far away” MV hints&previews?.
Tumblr media
There are scenes in “August D” MV that I believe previews the other 2 MV’s that will be coming out: “give it to me” & “so far away” (I like that BigHit is keeping to their love of trilogies by the way). As some of these places don’t show at all later in the video or is seemingly too random, I am naturally suspect.
Abandoned room:
This room does not appear at all in the MV except in the beginning flashes. It’s also not a part of the trailer home as those things are very linear & we saw the entire thing as the video spans along the interior.
EDIT: I think this is the trailer house flipped over on it’s side. Since that hexagon pattern (squint to the Right) is the same one that’s used as the floor pattern in the MV. SO best guess is that something probably happened to it. (clever tricky angle.)
Tumblr media
(the floor)
Tumblr media
&it also looks like a whole different set up. Window with curtains. Fabric tarps everywhere (possibly covering furniture) & notice the wooden create?
You see them knocked over on the left side of the screen, here with a slowly coming to consciousness Yoongi. The place is now dark & more destroyed then before. Possibly from a fire? (as that seems to be the theme) Maybe from a fall or just passing out.
(Edit: since I figured the abandon room above is probably the trailer house flipped over, I figured this scene is the result of an accident related to that)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moon gazing:
After Yoongi destorys the car there’s a quick shot of him climbing on the hood & laying down & eventually it transitions to a fenced view of the moon.
Tumblr media
Night vision of Yoongi on the hood, turned blue scale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sinking car:
This scene too is stylistically different then the rest of the MV to not notice, almost like an old film, the same styling used in Prologue when the memebers have their flashback scene. Further it looks like there is a car that’s sinking? Or on some type of water ramp. (which reminds me of Jin in the Prologue MV when he was surrounded with water looking at the Polaroid that Yoongi didn’t show up in.)
This doesn’t appear any other time in the MV.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Forever Young” MV:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mechanical parts:
I don’t even know where to start with this. Maybe Min Yoongi will be a damn cyborg, a la Error. But it’s also so visibily different then everything else that I can’t help but bring notice to it. Fight me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Licsence plates & industrial/warehouse numbers: The 20.52 shows up vividly in both the beginning of the MV & the end & obviously it’s not the same number as the plate on the truck. Perhaps it’s from the fire truck that will show up later: *see below
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Headlights & tail lights, car parts appear like light streaks throughout certain frames of the MV, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoongi with lighters: & in this MV that’s twice now that he’s sported the feathers.
“agust D” MV:
Tumblr media
“Forever Young” MV:
Tumblr media
INU MV:
Tumblr media
One of my biggest grievances about this MV is Why is Min Yoongi always burning? I thought I was done crying over this when the last era ended.
Tumblr media
From INU MV:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But eventually Yoongi will light everything on fire first. His nature is perhaps to consume all things in flames.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fire fighters & police probably reporting to the scene of the fire that Yoongi started from either the car burning or setting the lot on fire. (Perhaps someone dies & it will haunt him.) *I believe the 20.52 number might be from this fire truck.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strangely enough I had thought the red lights in Yoongi’s hotel room in the original INU MV were lights from a fire truck Yoongi had called .:here:.
Tumblr media
Anyways, this was just a quick image run down of some of the quick flash images scene mostly at the beginning of the video. & it may connect to the other MV’s that will be released, as I’m sure this footage exists for a reason. But from the looks of it, it looks pretty grim.
I’m excited though, for whatever is coming our way regardless. The music is stellar so I can’t really be let down at all at this point.
“Agust D” MV breakdown can be found .:here:. for anyone who might be curious.

.Agust D MV: a rundown.
So I’m filled with emotions & I need to process so much of what is happening lyrically in Yoongi’s mixtape so far that I literally don’t know where to start or what to do with myself at the moment so I’m just going to write.
This is a straightforward video so I’m just going to pick up some cues & throw them out for thought food. So apologies for the roughness in writing, just trying to call it as I saw it. No real theories. Just take it as you will. Thank you~
Tumblr media
This whole MV was like a metaphor for Yoongi’s struggles. There are 2 distinct visual cues: Blue monotone which showcase Yoongi’s past, his battles with hardships & depression & vivid color shots that highlight Yoongi now.
We start off with a shot of a messy floor of a mobile home, things are in shambles: crushed cans, thrown papers, trash & food everywhere. There’s also this chaos of swinging lights, handcuffs tossed in the air & car tops burning. Everything indicative of tougher times, delinquency, trouble.
Tumblr media
There are flashes of Yoongi in between all of it, lifeless, with one shot of him setting the place on fire. After which, he springs to life on the beat of the intro chorus & we see that he’s tied to a chair, prisoner to his surrounding. Immediately we’re then hit by images of police & squad cars, & there’s this sense of escalating tension as Yoongi starts to struggle against his bindings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He puts everything into breaking free from his current situation, using whatever resources were around him to do so, & unafraid or even willing to get hurt to do so. Because it’s instinctive, he can’t stay here. Not like this.
Tumblr media
There are always choices.
Tumblr media
Either you sit there in your situation as life just speeds along or you take the knife in your mouth & cut yourself out of the binds that hold you. It’s like your first battle. &Yoongi does it with blind zeal, knocking himself over just to get at the chance. Ultimately he fights until he casts aside his bindings with near contempt & decides to walk forward.
The rest of the trailer house is passable. Almost cozy if you squint. There are books on the wall, food & flowers on the table. All the bare essentials & then some. So even though it might be rough, he could stay if he wanted to. But instead he goes straight for the window & you can see him hanging out of it, smiling. A taste of freedom. &having that, how can you go back to the confines of your box?
Tumblr media
So Yoongi continues on a hard struggle towards the locked door, as the road is tough & he gets tossed around. Like when Yoongi firsts gets to Seoul, acceptance into BigHit being his excuse out his hometown, he came with nothing, not even his parents approval. But despite the hardships, Yoongi still worked hard to succeed; part time jobs between training and school, paving his own way, & though tripping & falling multiple times, he pushes on. He has to, you can make it out of one place, only to still potentially dead end at another if you give up.
Tumblr media
Even when he gets to that door he’s denied the first time, falling right on his ass.
Tumblr media
But he pops right back up & just kicks it open, finally able to see the open road, the possibilities. I’m sure debuting was like this for him. A form of making it. Pulling ahead.
Tumblr media
But even here there’s a railing, limited space, boundaries he still can’t cross.
So he climbs.
Tumblr media
This scene is cut with a one of him decimating a car. Like destroying the social norm of idol expectancy. He wrecks it & lights the whole lot on fire.
Tumblr media
& it flashes to a shot of him in color, in the back of the trailer house, grinning, smiling, seemingly content with this lot in life, as it affords him the ability to keep going higher.
Tumblr media
But then there’s another shot where he’s back in blue, covering the floor of the trailer home with gasoline, like depression in the back of his mind that he can’t burn away just yet.
Tumblr media
The final shots, in full color, show him triumphantly sitting on top of the house, a symbol of his past & hardships, liberated. It’s a good view & he’s enjoying the ride, the freedom.
Tumblr media
& on the release of this MV- this mixtape, the ending shot is him back inside the now stable trailer house (nothing is trembling, shaking like before), mentally more capable to face his inner demons, knowing he was able to escape them once- he moves by choice- back behind the curtains.
Tumblr media
So that’s the pure rundown of what I got from this MV. Thank you for your time.
When I was making screencaps for this post I noticed a bunch of stills captured in this MV that could be potential previews for “give it to me” & “so far away” MV’s because they’re too elaborate & well done but had nothing to do with this actual MV that I found them really suspicious! I’ve collected them all & put them here: .:here:.
------------------------------------|||||||||-----------------------------
Theory of things: Okay after giving it some thought I’m going to dive in a little deeper.
-SENSITIVE TOPIC AHEAD- DON’T READ ON IF YOUR SENSITIVE ON THOUGHTS ON SUICIDE.
I’ll be blunt, I think this video is alluding to Yoongi’s battle not only with his struggles to succeed, but also his depression. That the fire he set inside the trailer in the beginning of the MV is a show of the depression burning away at him in his stagnant/captive position & he sprung awake because something HAD to be done.
In track 07 of the mixtape “the last” there’s the lyrics:
"the doctor asked me ‘have you ever __” Without hesitating I said.... yes I have.”
The weight & thought behind those lines is so heavy, & can be interpreted in many ways as some form of self harm, that when his best chance of escape was presented as a knife, when he was staring it down, it’s like being faced with only extreme decisions on how to cut himself free. (They could’ve went with handcuffs & keys, but those where tossed in the air, making the knife the only solution.)
Ultimately, he chooses to cut himself free so that he can move forward, instead of ended it.
Another thing of note: Me & @auriee talked about Yoongi’s line in ‘We On’ where he raps the line:
I'm killa jack ripper 날 세운 혀로 널 찔러 I’ll pierce you with my sharp tongue
&we both took it like a tell- that when Yoongi takes the knife in his mouth & is suddenly able to cut through his taped hands, it’s like he’ll rely on the sharpness of his own skills to cut through whatever holds him, now.
After that definitive choice, the rest of the MV is his struggle with his career path & choices, all the years of fighting to debut & training while still plagued these doubts & anxieties. But visually you can see how he begins to get better, despite carrying all this within him. But still really important to see that he never actually stops until he could rise above it.
AGAIN, this is all theory/interpretation. Please take it as you will & I am always open for discussion. Thank you again~ (Maybe I’ll see you guys for the other MV’s?)

160816 Suga’s Tweet
그대의 창조와 삶의 끝에 함께 하길 그대의 자리가 어딜지라도 관대하리 결국 시련의 끝에 만개하리 시작은 미약할지언정 끝은 창대하리 160816 Agust D
Will be together with you at your creation and at the end of your life Wherever you are, will welcome you In the end, at the end of adversity, will be in full bloom Though the start may be humble, the end will be prosperous
160816 Agust D
(T/N: This is a part of the lyrics to Track 10 “so far away” Feat. 수란 (SURAN) on Suga’s mixtape. The register (formality) Suga uses here is very high (it’s very formal) and the grammatical structure is in an older form that is used in serious, religious, etc. situations (example: the Korean Bible is written in this form and prayers are said in this form). The form is difficult to explain in English, but it’s closest to the meaning of “will do ___”. It’s like part prayer, part request, part willing something to happen. It doesn’t have a specific speaker, which makes whatever Suga is saying something that he wishes/wills for everyone and not only himself. (example: “In the end, at the end of adversity, will be in full bloom” Explicit pronoun does not exist, so the sentence contains multiple meanings: “I will be in full bloom,” “You will be in full bloom,” “We will be in full bloom,” etc.))
