No matter how many times it happened, Kiahn was always surprised to be directly addressed by their leader, especially by name. Why would he be remembered after all, when he wasn't a blademaster or combat trainer like his grandfather and father were? Kiahn did help keep everyone fed though.
Kiahn bowed his head respectfully before responding. "Ah, well we're a little short on supplies until the others come back, so it's mostly simmered fruits for now," he explained. "We are working on a stew though; it was the best way to work with the meat we had left," he added, gesturing towards the pot with a long stirring spoon.
Glory to Master Kohga!
" Glory to me, indeed, eheehee ! And the Yiga Clan, of course. "
" Itโs been some time, Kiahn, how are doing ? Barely have the time these days, with working in the Depths towards our glorious plan and all that. But I thought Iโd stop by the hideout to check up on everybody and provide some much needed moral support seeing as weโre short on hands up here. So, got something yummy planned for tonight ? Iโm starvinโ "

misdirection
Alarm was spreading. Bells clanging, people shouting, running and teleporting. People gathering weapons.
He was here.
Hyrule's so-called 'hero'.
He had found their Gerudo hideout and Yiga were scrambling to defend their base and -more importantly- Master Kohga.
Kiahn was headed there himself, but took a wrong turn (never panic when you need to navigate the labyrinthine hideout). He stopped short when he heard the unmistakable sound of a sword clashing with the Yiga's carvers. Cries of pain and two thuds of bodies hitting the ground followed.
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no...
Kiahn stepped back, about to turn and run, then stopped. He was good at fighting, but not THAT good. What he could do though was help slow the hero down. Maybe.
He hadn't been spotted yet at least, with the hero still around a corner.
Kiahn put his index and middle fingers to his ear, activating his misdirection spell, and then pointed the fingers down the corridor opposite him.
The hero paused, thinking he'd heard Master Kohga. Kiahn stood tense and silent, desperately hoping the magic had fooled him. Yes! The hero took the left-hand path, following the auditory illusion down the wrong way.
The Yiga let out a small sigh of relief and then turned and sprinted down the correct path to warn Master Kohga.

Darkness.
And darkness.
And- more darkness.
For Calamity's sake, when did it END?!
It just seemed to keep stretching on and on.
"Come down to the Depths, they said. It will be greaaaat-" the Yiga muttered sarcastically to himself as he walked, grip tight on the torch he carried in one hand.
Not that he was a huge fan of the harsh Gerudo climate anyway, but still... at least up there he could see better. Part of him wished he had another Yiga accompanying him, but on the other hand- well it was embarrasing enough that the sounds in the dark had Kiahn jumping as it was. The last thing he needed was someone witnessing it and rubbing it in.
"This is what I get for volunteering..."

"Hey, I don't control your thoughts," Kiahn replied with a scoff. "As if you haven't already thought it, along with the rest of us."
Always expect a fight his combat trainer father always drilled into him (and the rest of the class).
He glanced over at the other Yiga, one eyebrow raised.
"Why would it be each other, short of sparring? You looking to pick a fight?" he asked it in a somewhat joking tone in response to hers, but it was a legitimate question. He shrugged after a moment. "Probably some bored Blademasters, or some hot-headed Hylians. Doubt we'd be lucky enough for the hero to wander into our area."
"Huh?"
Of course, he'd been listening the whole time, but decided to go with feigned inattention. Indifferent.
"I guess it has."
Truthfully, he was grateful for it. It got so damned exhausting, always being in danger, tense and physically active. It was nice. to have the rest, but at the same time...
"...almost feels too quiet though," he sighed. "Y'know, like that tense calm before a fight?"

โ hmm... it's been quiet today, hasn't it? โ
in truth, she hasn't been looking for noise. in fact, she's having a fine time with the supposed peace --- as fleeting as it may be.
