Imagine loving a guy so much you almost kill yourself to find his baby boy in a tsunami, you claw at the earth when you think you've lost him forever, you crawl under a fire truck to drag his bleeding body to safety with an actual sniper shooting your way, you accept the fact he put you down as his boy's legal guardian in case he dies with barely a protest, you agonise when he quits being your job partner, you take said son to the zoo all the time, you get jealous like a dog pissing on a tree when he has a new friend, you're there when he begs you to fix something you can't fix and you can only hold on to his shoulder to try and shoot the pain, you go to him the second some ugly man dumps you, you throw a hissy fit about him leaving to Texas and sabotage his house showing, and then, you cave. You cave and you give up your housing situation to help him, you move into his house and you let him go. You let him go because you love him that much.

And he looks at you like you set his world on fire and built it back anew, and you hope he looks through the rearview as he drives away, hoping he'll miss you half as much as you'll miss him.

He will. You were struck by the same lightning, you'll forever share a heartbeat.

Eddie Diaz has to handle things by himself bc he doesn't have a support system in Texas. He's broke, he's sad, he's struggling, he's trying to get his son back and his parents keep interfering bc him and Christopher allowed them that power once and now they won't give it back. Eddie Diaz has to fix his house, his life and his father-son relationship all by himself because he's the only one on his side here in El Paso. Except he's not. And he knows it. He knows there is someone who's cheering for him 800 miles away, someone that will answer his calls and calls back if he misses them, there is someone that will never let distance stop him from having Eddie's back. And Eddie is so certain, so secure in knowing that there is this one person in the world that will stand, he doesn't even think about it. He pulls out his phone and reaches out to his partner, and I am left here, half crying bc of Maddie and full on losing my mind bc the show tries to pretend their lifeline/other half/my person/my silver lighting bullshit act is just very very deep friendship

The funniest thing is that Tommy looked bumped Eddie stopped talking to him after the breakup. Like Tommy genuinely thought they were good friend "Eddie can have more than one friends" and I mean they were. He took Eddie to Vegas, they played basketball, they spared, they were tight and they had much more in common than Buck and Eddie do so they could have stayed friends individually but nope. Eddie just threw him on the side the second he made Buck upset because their friendship is obsolete against the sheer immensity of "this thing between you and me" like you abandon Buck Belt Buckley and you made him sad? And then buck gets it. Like big OHhhhh. Then ask if he can kiss Eddie, and Eddie cupping his jaw and doing it himself.
