Some of my f/os are finally getting canon media (it's a long story) and one of them may be getting a love interest and now I feel possessive over him because of it? I enjoy shipping him and my other f/os with other characters and he's not even a character I normally get possessive over (I'm besties with someone else who ships with him) but something about him getting a canon partner is making me upset. I just don't want other people in the fandom to think that I'm a super bitter person, I'm already nervous about other people finding my ship stuff.

Howdy, new follower here who found the blog after just scrolling randomly in the "Your Tags" part of the dashboard.

My F/O is Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia, but HYPER SPECIFICALLY the Post-Series Finale Time Skip version, where she's depicted as an adult instead of as a teenager like the rest of the show.

As you can imagine, I want to be passionate about her and how she makes me feel, but multiple factors are making that super difficult.

#1: Most of the wider fandom pretty much exclusively ships Anne with her BFFs Sasha and/or Marcy, and at times, it feels like I'll never be able to stack up and compare to what they've got going with her.

And #2: That one creep (iykyk) has basically singlehandedly ruined the reputation of Selfshipping-- let alone OC X Canon content as a whole-- in the Amphibia fandom to the point of it being vilified, and my self-esteem is low enough that if I were ever somehow given that same label, I don't think there'd be any kind of mental bounceback for me.

Just... All kinds of pain all around. (⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠;⁠)

Person who said that adding headcanons to your selfship means that you don't love them has clearly never had an f/o with very little information about them before. I'm sorry that my wife's source underdeveloped her to the point of never giving her a canon appearance I guess.
