IMPORTANT: My Situation and GoFundMe

Hola y hello, to those who don't know who I am. I'm Itzel aka Kawaiipony Productions. I'm a 17 y/o (mostly Mlp) YouTuber. I'm non-binary asexual biromantic (he/she/they) and I'm also an AuDHDer. And well, I need help. I live in an emotionally abusive household and my own “father” is my abuser. And while my mom isn’t as bad and my relationship with her has gotten better in recent years, she has still caused harm even by letting a lot of this slide.

Around February 18th, 2022, my parents snooped on my phone and found out I was trans. They had taken my phone, tablet, and Nintendo Switch. Which I wouldn’t mind too much if I didn’t purchase majority of these. I bought my tablet myself sometime around 2018 to 2019 with my own money. And I split half and half with one of my sisters to buy our Switch. That is hundreds not only stolen, but also destroyed as they’ve broken my tablet (which was around $300-350 when I bought it) previous instances it’s been taken from me. And I have not received any of these devices since.

Not only that, but my abuser in the past years of me dealing with my abusive relationship with him, h has threatened not only kick me out of the house, but also send me to the military without my consent or send me to my family in México to “straighten me out.” Not to mention his constant ableism towards me. From being anti-vax (a very ableist rhetoric towards autistics), forcing me to mask, etc.

This has led to me secretly doing my job as a part-time YouTuber for the past 2 years now, especially since I was forced to delete the previous Kawaiipony Productions channel cause of him. I have a GFM to help fund me for being able to get proper equipment again for doing my work. Not only that, but also possibly for things I plan to get once I turn 18 such as starting to get therapy, medication for my ADHD, etc. And now that I started dating my girlfriend, Vikki, I want to start saving some of this money to possibly meet her irl sometime next year.

I am taking a few small paid jobs for work right now, but it’s still not enough for my situation. So, you may ask, how can I help? Well, if you have the money, donate to my GFM. My GFM goal is $2,000 and I still need around $1,200 for reaching my goal. I also have adoptables for sale right now for $25 each. If you can’t financially help, then you can share not only my GFM, but my work. From my artwork, my videos on YouTube, and projects I’ve been a part of as a voice actor, animator, and/or artist. Quick PSA to all of my fellow pro-Palestinian folks out there: PLEASE STOP REBLOGGING FRAUDULENT/SCAM GOFUNDME'S

(read all of the way before interacting please. This whole post applies to similar movements and causes as well.)

I already made a blog post about this, but I keep seeing my mutuals and just a bunch of people in general reblogging "vetted" GoFundMe's, and it's becoming concerning. This is a more detailed post about the scam thing

I get how some of these people have good intentions when reblogging these GoFundMe's, they want to help with a cause, but there is a reason why you should always double check if the GoFundMe is a legitimate source (which often times sadly, it isn't).

Most of the accounts where the GoFundMe is posted often claim to be "vetted" accounts, which is an account that has been verified or checked for accuracy, authenticity, or suitability, but often times these "vetted" accounts show multiple red flags of a scam, which include but are not limited to the following:

It's an account/blog that provide very few details.

They mention specific details about the organizer’s connection to the victim or family.

The post(s) contain multiple images including one that also includes the organizer.

The best option is when the organizer posts a video. (To check for this, use reverse image search websites like TinEye or Google Images to see if their image shows up somewhere else.)

They won’t respond to direct messages or provide vague answers to your specific questions.

they use of AI images*

They overuse Emojis in the text (usually there is an emoji every 2-3 words and sentences, from what I've seen, and it's often at inappropriate spots)*

The post that's shown tags around 30-40+ people*

the text says anything along of the lines of "Link 🔗 donate 🙏👇", "Donate and share the link…👇👇👇", etc. anywhere in the post (usually towards the end)*

the text has multiple instances of grammar errors or miswording to the point it's barely legible*

the blog/account reblogs the same GoFundMe with different text, or makes multiple GoFundMe's for the exact same thing*

The account reblogs multiple posts where someone replies to an ask and the ask is the exact same thing for all responders.*

Things don't add up in the story*

The post uses fear-mongering tactics

If they send you an ask, it follows the format below (or any similar format):*

"Hi , I hope you are well ❤️

I'm [name], afather of four (or any other mention of a family). We live in Gaza. Before the war, we had a peaceful and happy life. Now our lives have turned into a nightmare. We have lost our home and been displaced countless times.

We live in constant fear, surrounded by danger and death. I am desperate to protect my children and I don't want to lose them 😭

We desperately need help to leave Gaza and find safety. Please can you donate [insert amount] it means a lot to us I beg you from the bottom of my heart to help.

[insert link]

Vetted by [vetter]"

the post in question uses unrelated tags

Or any other signs that I have not listed here

Keep in mind: Not all GoFundMe's and the accounts posting them share the same red flags, and not all of the ones listed above are a sign that a GoFundMe is a scam. However, it's when there are multiple of these that it should be seen as a warning. The ones with a * at the end are obvious red flags regardless of the context. It's always best to double check. These red flags also apply to vetters as well.

Here are a few examples of these red flags (unrelated note: the emoji's look like that because I am on PC as of typing this):

Obviously, the thing about these that pisses me off isn't the people who are reposting these, but the fact that these even exist to begin with.

People are actually dying and suffering in Palestine rn, and in amounts to where it horrifies me. These scammers are using an actual crisis as a way to gain money, which I find extremely insensitive and downright selfish honestly.

The fucked up part is that there are actual families who need their to be heard, yet these GREEDY ASSHOLES are just drowning them out and making it harder to call for help. It's upsetting if ye asked me.

Also should note: It was mentioned before that Palestine does not have internet access and there were Palestinian families that said themselves that money does not help.

Here is how you can actually help:

If you have money: Donate to charities instead of individual GoFundMe's (such as the UNRWA) (this will help fund the camps in Egypt to provide the resources needed to Palestinian refugees)

Attend protests (if you can)

Reblog educational posts speaking about the ongoing crisis in Palestine

Share the stories of actual Palestinian families and refugees

Contact you local Congress for an immediate ceasefire

Just in general any other way that does not revolve around using scams or being an asshole to everyone else about it.

And I say she's somewhat like Chica because I interpret her personality as being very nurturing, mostly based on her voicelines in SB, so I think that's also what Dollie would be like, kinda like an older sister vibe lol.
