Sorry for the absence, had a death in the family and thus been questioning my faith a lot. It was due to Alzheimer’s and I’ve been struggling to wrap my head around why someone would create such a disease. So I’ve been distant from Sheogorath and Peryite for a bit while I sort my thoughts out.
Anyway, how are we feeling about the Oblivion remaster?? I snuck onto the livestream at work because I was too excited. I doubt Hircine, or werewolves for that matter will be very present, as they weren’t in the original, but I’m still hyped regardless.
I’ve never really gotten into Oblivion, never finished the main storyline. I know the lore, of course, but never firsthand have I played too far into the game. Nor do I remember everything. That being said, I get to experience the game for the first time all over again, in a new light.

As someone who works with animals and is religious, please do not name your pets after Gods. It really rubs me the wrong way having to yell out a God’s name when your dog is being bad. You wouldn’t name your cat after the Christian God, so please don’t name your dog after Apollo or Athena (Two dogs I’ve actually cared for.).

<3 's For Sanguine
Getting back on track, happy Heart's Day, and a very joyous summoning day to Lord Sanguine! I'm currently downloading an amulet* to 3D print for Him, and will display it along with Hircine's and Hermaeus Mora's. Maybe pics later if all goes smoothly?
*Link to Thingiverse, a free model downloading website.
I wasn't planning on working tomorrow, as it is an American holiday, but I was called in last minute. No champagne for me, maybe still some for Sanguine though. I would've liked to party all night in His name, but alas, responsibilities. Perhaps we can call a rain check, and party Tuesday night, since I don't work on Wednesdays.
I'll also donate the chocolates I don't like that I received for Valentine's Day to Sanguine. I'm sure He'll enjoy them.

I love being open about my beliefs. It makes for fun interactions with people online. Had someone try to clock me as a “newgen TES fan” because I didn’t know some obscure piece of lore mentioned in a book in a game from the 90s. Funny stuff.
Also getting harassed for being a werewolf, getting called "sigma" and all that basic TikTok humor.

plane-of-oblivion -> oblivion-hub
Didn’t like how the acronym was Poo haha.
Also thinking of making sideblogs for singular Prince-specific posts, hence “hub”. Online altars, if you will. Maybe I’ll even make a blog for my Minecraft devotional world.

Happy late Valentines Day and happy early Heart’s Day! Heart’s day is tomorrow (16th of Sun’s Dawn/February) and so is Sanguine’s summoning day.
I’m staying at my father’s place tonight, but I’ll be home mid-tomorrow, so I might do something for Him. Maybe bake the cookies I’ve been wanting to bake and offer everyone some. Or have some champagne with the Lord of Debauchery. Or 3D print a little rose for Him.
I don’t have an altar for Sanguine, so I’ll just use my desk as an offering plate or log onto my Minecraft shrine and leave something there. If it works, it works, and I don’t currently have the space for more physical altars.
However, I do have a 3x3 cubic shelf I have been wanting to clean up and convert into mini altars, maybe I’ll make some progress on that. I want to form altars for Sanguine, Peryite and Azura, mostly, and maybe make the center cube into a general offering space.
Tumblr media
^ Similar shelf for visualization, since I’m terrible at explaining.

Prayer to Peryite
My first time doing something like this on here.
Praise be Peryite, Lord of Pestilence and honored Taskmasker!
Prince of Pus and Vomit, I trust Your judgement. If I am meant to be sick at this time, I accept it.
I also trust You to heal me when the time is right.
I trust that this sickness will not be the end of me, for it is just a test from You.
I have already passed the first test You have given me, where You made me cleanse my body of bile for a week.
And I am prepared to cleanse myself again, this time of mucus.
May I prove myself worthy, and may I heal in a timely manner.
Praise be Peryite, praise be the Blighted Lord!

Hircine and the Long Night
As the days begin to shorten, the Reachmen of Skyrim begin to tell and sing tales of The Wolf That Craved the Sky. The story involves Storihbeg, the Skinchanger, Hircine's wolf aspect, coming to devour the sun to eat it, just as the days began elongating themselves once more. The Reachmen then summon Hrokkibeg the Mighty Bear to challenge Storihbeg, to stop Him from eating the sun. Not much else of the story is known to us.
The Nords tell a slightly different story, saying that Storihbeg has a great, deep, endless hunger, which drove Him to "feast on the volcanoes of Morrowind and drink the Iliac Bay dry", thus creating the Alik'r desert, before picking its teeth clean using Valenwood's trees. When it saw the moons unbothered, Storihbeg threatened to consume them as well, that he'd assume their forms by using his eyes as the moons so none would know they were missing after they said that people would notice. Then the moons retorted that the sun would notice they were not what they appeared, in which Storihbeg said he would eat the sun and all of the stars, before engulfing the whole world and letting out a howl, happy that the entire world was engulfed in darkness. The moons mocked the wolf, stating the sun's light too rich to eat. Storihbeg waited for the sun to be at its weakest, upon the Old Life Festival, before jumping up to attempt his feast... only for the sun to flare brightly upon the New Life Festival, sending Storihbeg yelping away in pain.
It's a fascinating show of how two different cultures - one that worships Hircine, and one that fears and/or shuns Hircine - depict the same tale. One where Hircine is both the villain and the hero, and one where Hircine is nothing but a fool.

Clavicus Vile Summoning Day
(Banners by saradika-graphics.)
Clavicus Vile's summoning day is Morning Star 01st, or January 01st. This day is also shared with the New Life Festival within canon lore.
This post is a UPG post about what I perform for said summoning day. You can do whatever it is you like on this day.
(As a preface, this post is made by a Daedra Worshiper who doesn't believe/experience that the Princes are pure evil. That shines through in this.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(art credit: sugaredtea / Amelia Davis, link to artstation)
CLAVICUS VILE . . ,
Clavicus Vile, or Nycot, Child-god of the Morningstar, is a Prince of Deals, Trickery, Wishes, Bargains, and a lot else. He is often called "the most carefully neutral Prince". They are most commonly associated with a crossroads demon, a genie/djinn and a trickster spirit. She is often seen accompanied by Barbas, who may or may not be a familiar, may or may not be a core part of Clavicus Vile's existence and a part of Their power.
They are seen as a more "sophisticated" Daedra comparatively to other Princes, and sees Himself as jovial, silly, and playful. She finds eternity to be rather boring, so entertainment is found in watching mortals and meddling in their affairs and lives.
Clavicus Vile is often summoned upon to make deals within contracts and rituals, though this post is written more from a devotional standpoint than a contract making one.
Anything below this point is primarily UPG.
Tumblr media
ASSOCIATIONS . . ,
Clavicus Vile is associated with (usually white) dogs (especially borzois in my personal experience), aloe vera, pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, surrealistic paintings, and masks.
OFFERINGS . . ,
↘ natural ;
gems, fake ones count
pansy
hydrangea
aloe vera
white dog fur
↘ foodstuff ;
candy
cashews
mixed nuts
salt
cookies with lots of filling things
↘ items ;
masks
borzoi or white dog statuettes
jack-o-lanterns, even if they’re fake decor ones
hand fans
surrealist art
↘ music ;

↘ etc ;
magenta / purple candles
DEVOTIONALS . . ,

use hand fans
be unapologetically yourself
dress in chaotic and free ways
make good exchanges things like vent to others, listen to others vent; do things you like plus things your friend likes; etc.
consider new ways to do things
play games in Their name
play a game with Them

sun-bathe
use aloe vera in spells

Tumblr media
FESTIVITIES . . ,
Clavicus Vile's summoning day can be celebrated in many ways, such as:
pursuing things that make you happy
writing (realistic) resolutions for the new year
making promises and deals with those around you and yourself
dissolving bonds and promises that don't serve you anymore
freeing yourself from that which harms you
starting a new journey
playing games of all sorts
dance and sing
When it comes to the New Life Festival, which one can include in their festivities for Clavicus Vile, is an event that celebrates the birth of a new year and the death of an old year. Originally, it was the celebration of Magnus, the sun god, and over time it became just a celebration of the gift of New Life, heralded by the sun. It also marks the start of the Winter Solstice, when Magnus the Sun begins to return, and the days start to grow longer. Everyone in Tamriel celebrates in their own culturally unique way - But some include races, feasts, games, and dancing.

SUMMONING RITUAL . . ,
This is a personal summoning ritual. Please feel free to make your own.
↘ ingredients and other tools &&°
Clavicus Vile's name written in Daedric script on paper (to burn or throw away)
a magenta or purple candle, or multiple if you'd like
something pumpkin, be it an actual pumpkin, something pumpkin flavored, or a pumpkin figurine
aloe vera, even if it's just some gel
anything else you personally associate with Clavicus
an offering of some form
a red wine or a pomegranate juice (to drink)
↘ steps &&°
Make sure safety precautions are in set. This includes physical safety if you're going to be burning the paper.
Set your scene, with the pumpkin, aloe vera, and any personal choice items.
Write down Clavicus Vile's name.
Light your candle(s).
Call upon Clavicus Vile, while burning the paper or folding it up and throwing it away in the trash. Here's an optional one: Clavicus Vile, Nycot, God-child of the Morningstar. I call upon you here and now, on this summoning day of yours. Please, I humbly beg, come to me here and now.
Offer up your offering, including the wine or pomegranate juice.
Do your business, whatever it is you wanted to do here, even if it's just talking. If you want to make a deal, now is the time.
To finish, pour a drink of the wine/pomegranate juice for Them, and one for yourself. Drink your cup, and leave Vile's for an hour.
Blow out or snuff your flame.
After an hour has passed, pour Vile's cup down the drain.
Tumblr media
YOU WANT TO MAKE A DEAL . . ,
This section is here for those who are interested in making a deal with Clavicus Vile on this day. You don't need to wait until the First of Morning Star to make a deal, but today is a great day to do so.
I want to first ask you to consider your viewpoint on Clavicus Vile and Their morals. Do you consider Vile as a more evil, malefic force? Then probably don't make a deal. But if you're like me who considers the Princes to be a lot less bad than canon, and trusts them, then you can make a deal safely.
This assumes you're doing this in the middle of the summoning ritual.
↘ steps &&°
Explain what you're wanting. The more details and the more specifics the better, just because it means it's more likely to go smoothly.
Clavicus Vile will propose what you need to fulfill for your end of the deal. Feel free to debate and negotiate, but remember, you're going to have to fulfill your end of the bargain and you might not get exactly 100% what you want. Later on, you can "edit" your bargain halfway through or "cancel" the exchange by summoning and talking to Clavicus Vile again, but expect editing to mean you don't get the same thing you wanted in the first place all the time. Sometimes it remains the same, but not always.
Draw up a physical contract for yourself. I'd suggest a physical copy but a digital copy can work, as long as you can sign it.
Sign your name in Daedric Script.
Congrats! Your deal is now in action.
With all of that said, you might be asking "If you can't just get exactly what you want, why make a deal? Why not just do a spell instead?" Well, then... do a spell instead, frankly. This is for those who feel comfortable making a deal with Clavicus Vile and prefer to rely on the gods for help.
I've never been personally shafted by Vile in all the deals I've made. I've had to edit some partway through as I realized I couldn't uphold my end, and Vile was understanding and didn't punish me or anything of that sort for it.
Tumblr media
Regardless of whether you're engaging in a deal or just summoning Clavicus Vile, I hope you all have a wonderful January/Morning Star 01st, and that this year is kind to you. Best of luck.

Updates and Holidays
Fredas, 20th of Evening Star, 2E 24
First of all, apologies for being inactive. I’ve started a new job, and I’ve been all sorts of busy lately. My practice has taken a backseat because of that. I haven’t even been wearing my devotional jewelry, as in the line of work I do, it can be damaged easily. (I work with dogs, if you’re curious.) I still talk with Hircine and Hermaeus Mora and leave offerings, but I have not been practicing beyond that.
Today is Molag Bal’s summoning day. I do not worship nor do I work with Him, but I acknowledge this day as I do with all the Princes’ summoning days.
As this year comes to a close, I have to mention the Nirn equivalents of widely celebrated Earth holidays. The 25th of Evenings Star is Saturalia, which is the Breton’s Christmas or Yule. I will be celebrating by decorating my tree and giving gifts.
I know for a fact I will be receiving a 3D printer, as I was asked which one would be the most suitable for me. With this, I’m hoping to create replicas of the Daedric artifacts to adorn my altars with, and also make miniature statues of the Princes I work with.
We will also hopefully have snow tonight, so I might seal some up for the lesser known Nordic Wintertide Festival if any sticks to the ground. This holiday is only mentioned through an item from ESO, from what I’ve seen on the UESP, so it’s unknown why the Nords do this. But I’d still like to partake, and maybe use the melted snow for a spell or something afterwords.
For the second half of the Imperial Old Life Festival, on the 30th and 31st, I will be working. However, I will try to spend some time reflecting on memories of passed loved ones at the very least, if I do not have time to write anything down for them.
The first day of the new year will be the New Life Festival, and also Clavicus Vile’s summoning day. I don’t work with or worship Him either, but as stated above I will still acknowledge His day and say a few words for Him.
The New Life Festival also has a bit to do with Hircine and His wolf and bear forms. Storihbeg, His wolf form will attempt to eat the sun and keep nights longer, so the Reachmen will summon Hrokkibeg, His bear form to constrain Storihbeg.
It is said New Life is viewed negatively by werewolves, since the days become longer and the nights shorter. As a werewolf, I can see why, but I will still be celebrating the new year. As of now, I have no “resolutions” or goals, besides getting back into my craft.

Preface and Starting with The Daedric Princes
–  🌉 • The Daedric Princes are “individualists” – They work almost entirely on their own (though do communicate with each other), but are fine being “lumped together” for the sake of ease of acknowledgement. They are also not nearly as bad in reality as they are in fiction, but they can be a bit finicky.
(Please note that most of this is still UPG as this is an UPG centric blog, I am speaking from personal experience and how I would personally suggest and talk about these gods if someone asked me.)
(Please note before continuing, I believe in and worship Princes that do not exist in fictional canon, as told of them by Hermaeus Mora. You can take it however you feel, but all I ask is respect of my worship.)
All of the Daedric Princes are in gray-hued morality.
They all are also fairly gray and on a swinging pendulum of benevolence and malevolence. This isn't to say they are cruel to followers per se, I experience more of a "tough love" kind of deal.
☽⚬☾ – VALUES . . .
Evil done with a good reason is not evil. Pursuing baneful magick, or aggressively standing up for yourself by hurling insults, or anything else “immoral” done with a good reason is not evil. This mentality is shared with Sithis and the Night Mother (Dark Brotherhood).
Personal liberation, autonomy, and freedom is at the forefront of all things. You are at the control of your life, and others are too. You control yourself, others control themselves.
☽⚬☾ – TEACHINGS . . .
You are the center of your own universe.
You need to look out for yourself above all else.
You can do whatever you want, but so can others.
☽⚬☾ – MORAL CODE(S) . . .
“Free will” is a finicky thing to explain – They preach that you can do what you want to others, but you should wholly and utterly understand that others can do the same to you too. If you are an ass to others, you will have to reap the consequences – be it from their retaliation, be it from retribution, or be it from the Divine themselves. Be smart with all decisions that might control another.
They firmly support and endorse domination and aggressive resolutions where peace cannot work.
Baneful magick is 100% endorsed and encouraged where useful or necessary.
☽⚬☾ – COMMANDMENTS . . .
They too have commandments, some of which are mutual, and are not present within the “canon” of Elder Scrolls. I have only listed the mutual ones, and their singular commandments in their own quick starts.
You are the center of your universe. Choose to help yourself.
Free yourself no matter what must be done.
Pursue your highest good like you pursue breathing.
Destroy the evil and cruel, and all those who would deny you your power.
☽⚬☾ – PRACTICE . . .
Daedra worship is often a practice of personal power and autonomy, of being strong and powerful, while also knowing oneself and negating all harm that could come your way.
It is a very personal practice, one that the Daedric Princes are there to help with, but they will not hold your hand.
This practice is also deeply entwined with recovery and liberation.
The faith is often practiced alone or with a very small cult, and often in a private setting. While it's safe to publicize this faith here (arguably thanks to people not so nice to people who worship those we know of through fiction), it's just usually a more private practice.
☽⚬☾ – OTHER NOTES . . .
Despite what in-game sources say about them having enemies amongst other Daedric Princes, that’s not the case from what I've been told. They’re individualists, but they don’t dislike or hate each other or have each other as their enemy.
While Daedra are not evil, they often have very different morals and the magick they teach and endorse might be very different than what we are used to.
The Daedric Princes are very solitary individuals, and will leave the act of practice up to the practitioner. They aren't loud and pushy in that regard, but they do want to be worshiped, and they will be loud and pushy in practice.
They do expect very much from their followers, and are known to be easily frustrated. Though, as this practice is one of personal power and autonomy, they aren't cruel or unjust – As long as you do work, that's really it. How you do it isn't that important as long as it follows their values.
They are fine of being spoken about to others, though suggest to use discretion due to their in-universe natures.
Don’t call them by their Nymics. Call them by any variant of their names. As Nymics exist to control a Daedra, it's just seen as... rude?
Daedroth is the technically correct singular form, but Daedra works just fine too.
… SO, YOU WANT TO DO DAEDRA WORSHIP?
You want to do Daedra/Daedroth worship. So now you’re here.
The Daedric Princes can be finicky and difficult, and you don’t want to slight them as their punishments can be brutal, even if a proper apology can mend the wound.
However, they are also wonderful, liberating beings who teach personal power and how to be strong amongst all, to heal and recover from pains that you’ve suffered through, who work for us out of love for us, their worshipers. To earn their favor is to earn their love, and be deeply supported and encouraged by them.
So this guide is to help you getting started with easier Princes who are beginner friendly and help you move forward into more Daedra worship with their guidance and help. Each profile I've completed (see the rest of my blog!) has it listed how “easy” they would be for a beginner to start with, and can also be used to tell when you should begin working with them based on your progress so far.
Daedra are often picked and choosed, or they pick and choose you. You can work and honor all of them, or you can pick specific ones that mesh with you or call to you to honor.
Many Princes in this list are non-canon. Hermaeus Mora shared with me more Princes that exist that don't exist within canon lore. (See my note on my pinned post about "I believe the gods came first and the fiction second".)
The Daedra are worshiped as part of Khajiiti faith, and Dunmeri faith worships Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala in canon, and some others according to what I’ve been told. See each profile for that.
☽⚬☾ – SO, HOW DO I BEGIN ?
First, you want to come to an understanding and acceptance of the information above. The Princes are not always in line with “human morality”, they can be harsh and cruel, they are very willing to punish their own followers should they be sufficiently slighted or otherwise upset by them. Their energy is intense and often overwhelming, They ask a lot of followers. They are not necessarily difficult to work with, but they can be if you’re not prepared yourself for them.
Next, you want to study the Prince to some degree – These guides exist for that reason to help you begin that studying. You can also reach out to Hermaeus Mora to ask whatever questions you have. Hermaeus Mora will answer to non-followers, granted a sufficient offering is given – Zie lives and works by a “Information given is information earned.”
Thirdly, you want to reach out to your Prince of choice, or Princes of choice. If you can’t pick a Prince, you can draw a card to help discern if a Prince is interested in you. Be kind, be respectful, speak to them like you would a higher being, though most Princes accept casual-ness as long as there is respect within.
☽⚬☾ – SO, WHAT PRINCES ARE GOOD TO START WITH ?
The one Daedric Prince I heavily suggest to begin with is Hermaeus Mora. For one thing, It provides information on other Princes freely whenever asked, so can help you learn things to begin with or avoid conflict and other things. Hermorah is a calm, collected Prince – while not necessarily kind or sweet, Zie is likely to forgive slights easily, and is not that easy to slight.
Azura is a kind, gentle Prince who is also willing to teach about other Princes, just She is likely to have less information that Hermaeus Mora. She is hard to slight, and is very quick to forgive with just an apology and does not often request big shows in order to forgive.
Ganjkell (non-canon) dedicates Themself to teaching people about faith and practice, mostly about the Daedric Princes. He isn’t necessarily soft or gentle like other good starts, but His Daedric-like nature makes Her a good start for learning about the Princes first-hand.
Hircine is, like Azura, hard to slight – as It’s main rules are quite simple (or at least the ones I've been given), and is unlikely to be slighted by It’s “pack”, which includes followers, unless they really fuck up. It treats followers well and with great respect.
Raix Navorn (non-canon) is a very soft and gentle Prince, who often protects followers from the rages of other Princes should they happen to be slighted.
☽⚬☾ – WHAT IS LIKELY TO SLIGHT / UPSET A PRINCE ?
The main thing is lack of respect towards the Prince. (See the next section.)
Breaking their rules or commandments repeatedly is also likely to upset them, but how they react often depends on the commandment broken. One about respecting yourself isn’t likely to get you punished, but one about listening to them might.
Ignoring them, like any other God, is likely to upset them.
Not being compensated for their aid to you.
☽⚬☾ – HOW DO PRINCES GENERALLY LIKE TO BE TREATED ?
Princes like to have a vertical relationship type, but the style differs. Some more like royalty, some like parents, some like mentors, it really depends on Prince to Prince – But in general, as long as you treat them with the proper respect you would someone above you.
Most Princes enjoy being pampered to some degree. They like consistent worship, or at least someone being dedicated to at least worshiping a Prince if they worship all Princes or multiple Princes.
☽⚬☾ – WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW FOR DAEDRA WORSHIP ?
The Princes are not jealous of each other, despite being individualists, and are very willing to work alongside each other as part of a cosmic team.
You do not need to honor every single Prince. If you only resonate with one or two, you can easily work with only one or two without upsetting the rest of the Princes.
The Princes don’t mind being called on for one specific issue or for temporary things (ex. only calling upon Peryite while ill), as long as proper offerings are given in thanks.
Princes are called Princes regardless of their gender. It’s just one of those things, they view Prince as a gender neutral term.
All they really care about is their ideals being spread and people enacting their own powers. As long as you do work, even if it’s not very big or grand, they’re happy with you.
They are willing to budge on things like commandments if it conflicts with another Gods commandments.
Daedroth is singular, and Daedra is plural – But you can use Daedra as the singular form too. Daedric is used for things that are of Daedra.
Working with Lesser Daedra is very much a thing, but they are often not worshiped and revered as they are not Gods. Daedra Lords are a step below Daedric Princes, just one step away from becoming gods. I'm going to slowly add information on Lesser Daedra to this blog over time.
☽⚬☾ – WHAT’S WITH THE SUMMONING DAY ?
Each Prince has their own “day” that they are intended to be summoned, which I treat like a holiday. In reality, they can be summoned any day, but again, I use the day as a holiday.
Each day isn’t concrete on what you do – It’s not like the Wheel of the Year where there’s tons of culture behind the holiday that slowly built it up now there’s actual rituals and celebrations you perform on that day.
So, please feel free to perform whatever you feel like on this day, and don’t feel obliged to our “what I like to do”, as it only serves as a suggestion.

Household Worship Of Azura
Tumblr media
[IMG ID: A shrine of Azura from Raven Rock in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dragonborn DLC. The shrine is set upon stone, circular, with candles around an image dedicated to Azura. At the top of the image is a star, with a skull below it, then trailed streaks of black. Before the image are some offerings of gems, a coinpurse, fruits, and vegetation to Azura. It is simple, but beautiful.]
THE DAEDRA, IN SOME ASPECTS OF TESLORE, ARE SPOKEN OF BEING FOUND IN THE DANGEROUS WILDS OF NIRN. Daedra worship within itself is controversial in Tamriel, sometimes inconsistently so, for they are often considered more dangerous than the Aedra. In a way this is true, the Daedra are more present than the Aedra, but the Aedra still may cause harm. My dear Kyne, even if she is a kind mother, rules over the storms that destroy. Eventually, I will cover the cut content that shades the worship of the Aedra in favour of Daedra, instead of the usual anti-Daedric worship that the Aedra-loving lore often proclaims.
Household worship of the Daedra seems to depend on the culture: while there are shrines within some Dnemeri households, outside of the realm of traditional worship, many of the daedra appear to be kept from cities—especially in Skyrim, where nearly all the centres of worship for Daedra are outside the strong-walled holds. She out of all of the Daedra appears to be the closest to cities and the likes, but her temple still stands outside Winterhold in Skyrim.
On Earth, however, we can hopefully worship our deities within our own homes. Azura integrates herself well into the home, providing all her bounty, especially in liminal protection from the dangers of the beyond.
MODERN HERETICS ON AZURA
I was inspired by doing my scholarly research on Azura as usual, when I re-read a passage on Daedra worship in lore that provided a much more realistic perspective: that on Daedric cults and their actions, without the usual gore and harm that permeates the discussion of Daedra. A portion of the passage Modern Heretics inspired this post, with it focusing on Azura in the majority of the text:
I personally have discovered one community worshipping theDaedra LordAzura, Queen of Dawn and Dusk. A researcher curious about Daedra worship might research in several ways: through a study of the literature, through exploration and discovery of ancient daedric shrines, through questioning local informants, and through questioning worshippers themselves. I used all these means to discover the shrine of Azura.
First I read books. References like this one may provide a helpful general background concerning Daedric shrines. For example, my researches led me to understand that, in Cyrodiil, Daedric shrines are generally represented by statues of Daedra Lords, are generally situated in wilderness locations far from settlements, that each shrine generally has associated with it a community of worshippers, often referred to as a ‘coven’, that shrines have associated with them a particular time — often a day of the week — when a Daedra lord might be solicited, that Daedra Lord often will not deign to respond unless they regard a petitioner of sufficient prowess or strength of character, that they will only respond if given the proper offering [the secret of which offering often known only to the community of worshippers], and that, in return for the completion of some task or service, the Daedra Lords will often undertake to offer an artifact of power to a successful quester. Then I questioned locals with an intimate knowledge of the wilderness. Two classes of informants I found especially useful — well-traveled hunters and adventurers [who might come across shrines in their travels], and scholars of the Mages Guild. In the case of the Shrine of Azura, both sources were profitable. I discovered aCheydinhal hunter who had chanced across a strange epic statue in his travels. The statue was of a woman with outstretched arms; in one hand she held a star; in the other hand, she held a crescent moon. He had shunned the statue out of superstitious fear, but had marked the location in memory –far north of Cheydinhal, northwest ofLake Arrius, high in theJerall Mountains. Then, proceeding to the local Mages Guild with a description of the statue, I was able to confirm from its description the identity of the Daedra Lord worshipped. Having discovered the location of the shrine, I visited it, and discovered there the community of worshippers. Because of the strength of opinion against Daedra worship, the worshippers were, at first, reluctant to admit their identity. But once I had won their trust, they were willing to divulge to me the secrets of the times when Azura would hear petitions [from dusk to dawn], and that the offering required by Azura wasglow dust, a substance obtained from thewill-o-the-wisp. I am, of course, nothing more than a chapelman and scholar, so it did not lie within my power to find a will-o-the-wisp to obtain glow dust; nor am I certain that Azura would have found me worthy to make such an offering, even had I proffered it. But I was assured that if I had been able to make such an offering, and if it had been accepted, Azura would have given me some sort of quest, which, if completed, might have earned me the reward of Azura’s Star, a Daedric artifact of legendary magical powers.

Undoubtedly the outlawing of Daedra worship is what drew these worshippers into hiding, with the daedra often being seen as dangerous and taboo. I cannot help, as others have noted, that this sounds very much so like paganism. Hiding in covens deep within secret locations, petitioning beings outlawed by common society—the Daedra seem to be coded in such a manner, even if the traditional religions of Tamriel are all polytheistic. The usage of coven also draws my eye—almost relating it to this world’s traditional witchcraft circles, in which a figure, often the Witchfather, is petitioned and met with those seeking something. Often power, as those in these covens seem to commonly pursue.
Living on Earth does afford the ability to not have to necessarily hide my Azura worship, even if it is something I naturally keep on the quieter side. Among other pagans it is acceptable, sometimes even adored, to be following a goddess from Nirn. While it would be fun to pursue a shrine in the woods to her, it is a comfort to invite the Lady of Dusk and Dawn into my home instead.
HOUSEHOLD WORSHIP OF AZURA
Household worship has become a norm for pagans, as we are often separated by space and time, and often alone. Praying alone in the home is the standard for most of us, even if we can visit the woods and go deep into dredges to find our gods. The Aedra have handmade shrines designated for home usage within Skyrim, but of course, none for the Daedra without mods. While Wintersun provides a way to express devotion to Azura, it does not fulfil every aspect there is to being a worshipper of a deity in Tamriel.
To worship Azura in the home, it is as easy as a prayer and some offerings. I do prefer to bring my offers outside before Dawn and Dusk, but prayer can be anywhere. Beyond the title however, once again drawing from my background in Mediterranean religion, I believe that there is more to Azura’s household power than simply placing her within the hearth shrine.
Prayer to Azura For Home Protection
Azura’s liminality lends well to a protective goddess. Liminal deities such as Hekate are often invoked to remove spirits as much as to bring them forth, and considering her star, Azura has some sway over souls. To keep spirits from the home, speak this prayer:
AZURA of the Crimson Gate, Rose-bound,  she who wards away spirits amore,  kismet in your designs. Let your silver starlight  grace the doors of my home and  let your dawn and dusk appraise the walls.  Ward the dwellings I as your people call home, As once you did before, and shall do, Again into your liminal passages evermore.
Prayer to Azura To Banish A Malicious Being
As a goddess who loves her followers dearly, Azura is more than happy to exercise her power over lesser beings from her world and beyond. To ward off entities who would harm your home, place a statue of Azura by the door and or place an image of her symbol to warn. If a malicious being manages to sneak past the wards and locks, speak this prayer to tell Azura of the spirit that evaded every protection placed.
AZURA, she of OBLIVION beyond, There is a demon who haunts these halls, A trespasser, unwelcome, unfound, within This home of this worshipper yours.  Roses bloom for your love and command, And here comes this foul being to destroy  The buds containing your altar anew. So come, Azura, the warden of the home  Who blesses with silver and beauty untold Banish them with binds of silver and red, Rim of all holes, to the halls beyond the dead.
Prayer to Azura To Ward Locks
As the rim of all holes and possibly enemy of Nocturnal, I see no reason why Azura could not ward a lock against thieves and trespassers who would seek to steal and harm the home. Speak this prayer to her to ward locks against such intrusions, less they face her deserved wrath.
The night invites holy Nocturnal’s surmise   devotee Thieves speech under her blessings, to come  And rid my locks of the silver we both endure.  Transition the path of stars and light, Banish thieves and tricksters from my home goodnight  Let fate be woven ever so, ward these locks untold  So that Nocturnal may dance in another hearth tonight, And we rest under your lilac Twilight delight. Rim of all holds, master of keys and lock-holes, Azura, ward my locks, let no lockpick be turned, Azura, Azura, the mistress of liminality foretold!
I do wonder what those people in Tamriel would have thought, seeing as I can freely honour our goddess within my own home. She is a wonderful goddess, kind and caring with her love understanding. Foretold or not, she is a rose-hearted gift to any hearth who seeks her name. In order for our popculture religion to survive in this world, it must be met on the terms of our lives and heart, and household worship is the step before even considering the likes of temples or communal ritual.

I am Craig, a lycanthrope and daedric worshipper. I’m 20, and have been studying this practice since 2020.
I am also the main host of a system, but will likely be the only one posting. The only reason I’m mentioning this is to explain any gaps in activity.
I unsurprisingly worship Hircine and have pretty much since I formed in mid 2020. More recently, in the last year, I’ve begun to work with Hermaeus Mora. On top of that, I honor all the rest of the Daedric Princes, and acknowledge the Divines.
Despite studying and partaking in Daedra worship for 4 years now, I still see myself as a beginner. Honestly, I still see myself as a beginner in TES lore, too. It’s just so expansive. Don’t be too harsh on me.
