Yes, I AM re-watching the first 9 episodes of Yuri on Ice and taking notes on how everything has a different context based on what we learned at the very end of Episode 10. I’m chronicling it in parts, with screen caps! Hit the jump below to read on!

Episode 2: Oh, Victor, You Poor Thing

Please observe. Pay close attention. Imagine that Victor is a teenager with a crush. When I was a teenager and I got in a situation where I “fell asleep” in the same room as my crush, I probably wasn’t asleep. I was laying carefully in ways that I thought were sexy, exposing little bits of skin definitely-not-on-accident. I was deliberately trying to be “casually” sexy so my crush might notice.

Yuuri still thinks that they have NOT EVEN SPOKEN TO ONE ANOTHER. So of course he wouldn’t think that all of this Victor charm is aimed deliberately at him, he’s just a sloppy, sexy guy or something. FUCK, Yuuri.

Again, it’s been noted, but the word he uses doesn’t mean the gendered “girlfriend,” it’s a gender-neutral “sweetheart.” I’m pretty sure this whole scene, though, is Victor trying to get a bead on Yuuri’s past relationships to find out if Yuuri is gay/at all into men, because he’s probably having doubts right now. Maybe he was wrong about this whole thing? Just give him a sign.

Our second massive narrative irony: Yurio watched Yuuri sweep in, disgusting and drunk, and sweep his idol, Victor, off of his feet. I don’t think Yurio has any romantic feelings for Victor persay, but he does feel threatened. Victor was his first, and Yuuri, now known to be a seductive, athletic, excellent dancer of an adult? Yurio can’t even begin to compete with that. He has to get Victor back from this pervert.

I don’t think this is reading too much into it based on how he basically runs a submissive/worship scene with Yuuri whenever he’s in his Eros costume later on. Victor is literally excited at the opportunity to “do whatever the winner says,” especially since this whole contest is something he’s doing FOR Yuuri. He already knows Yuuri’s going to win. He wants to be led by Yuuri again, just like at the party.

Victor Acts Completely Reasonably: Episode 1

第一集：Victor 會有如此表現的完整原因

Okay. Then the dance happened. For a reminder, Victor fell head over heels for the drunk and alluring Yuuri Katsuki, who got half naked, danced with Victor, gave him the time of his life, and then asked him to come to Hasetsu and be his coach. Okay?

That’s the crux of this whole thing. VICTOR DOESN’T KNOW that Yuuri forgot this passionate night that served as the turning point for Victor’s life.

Yuuri (as for as Victor knows) uploads a video of himself skating to Victor’s program “Stay Close to Me.” The song is a love song from one man to another, and could reasonably seem like Yuuri is deliberately reaching out to Victor, sending him a message.

勇利(就victor所想)上傳了一段自己滑victor的表演節目“Stay Close to Me”。這首歌是一個男人給別人的愛情歌，而且可以合理的視為勇利向victor伸出手，傳達給他的一個訊息。

For Victor, who has been crushing on Yuuri for months, but has not been able to see him at any competitions because Yuuri kept flunking out of qualifiers, and remembers Yuuri both seducing him and then asking him to coach him, is completely justified in thinking it’s a reasonable idea to move to Hasetsu and coach Yuuri.

對victor來說，他迷戀勇利好幾個月，卻沒能在任何比賽見到他，因為勇利失去資格；還有記得勇利引誘他然後請他指導他，這是個完全合理的理由去長谷津和指導勇利。

That’s what Yuuri wanted, right?
