I feel like a similar comparison could be made to the way Davies and Moffat set up their arcs
really i think the key difference between david tennant and peter capaldi as fans of the show they were in is that david tennant's childhood obsession shows through when he comes face to face with elisabeth sladen in school reunion with all the joy of someone who was in love with the show as a kid in the 70s. you know, like a normal person. (by doctor who standards.) whereas peter capaldi's childhood obsession shows through when he comes face to face with creepy mummy-like cybermen based off a partly-lost william hartnell serial which is deeply deeply disturbing on a psychological level with all the glee of someone who was disturbed on a psychological level by the show as a kid in the 60s

Said, The Doctor. Later that day he learned that quite unfortunately that yumberries and yuckberries are in fact the fruit of the same plant. Even more unfortunate The Doctor, learned the flavor of the berries is completely reliant on whether your morals and ethics are similar to the brush from which the berries are collected. Even further adding insult to injury the berries The Doctor, purchased were from a bush that had an “all lives mater” tattoo on its left arm. “One day…” grumbled The Doctor, “one day I’ll find small round fruit from a plant that isn’t so racist.” The Doctor then chose to eat a plum. It was decent if slightly under ripe.
I hope I ordered yumberries and not yuckberries

That would be fascinating. I wonder if anyone has done it? It’s something that seems sorely under explored. We do have

I can’t think of anything that I wouldn’t want to seen done in Genndy Tartakovsky’s style just to see what it would look like

I genuinely think Philomena Cunk interview questions are academically valuable in that 1. They force experts to consider ridiculous scenarios they never would have thought of having to deal with and 2. They test the ability of academics to explain their fields to laypeople and challenge the idea that “everybody knows xyz.” I think part of all higher level degree programs should involve having to get interviewed by Philomena Cunk

Random crossover idea: Lady the magic engine is actually a crashed and abandoned Tardis.
Magic gold dust is actually focused Artron energy.
The Magic Railroad is really an isolated section of the Time Vortex.
The reason vehicles are alive on Earth is Lady’s consciousness and life energy got split off and spread around the world attaching itself to what was primary to her personality identity which was being a vehicle!

46239 City of Chester waits to depart from London Euston with an express for the north in the early 1960's. Euston would be a very different-looking station by the end of the decade!

I love it when people do truly unique and fun customs
How to Dragon Your Train
Ok it's a phoenix, but to a 4yr, dragon is close enough. Ttte BR Class 37 Europhoenix, hand painted by me for two boys who are crazy about these 'dragon' trains.
Tumblr media
Just repainted a couple of D40/D261/Bowler. Body shape is the same, and since wooden railway tends to ignore wheel configuration...
Tumblr media
Yes I exaggerated the phoenix because the wooden one is portions are shortened and the phoenix is the best part of the livery.

Random TTTE head canons and ideas No.4
Even though the Talyllyn Railway and Skarloey Railway have very remarkably similar history and motive power rosters, the engines themselves have very different and unique personalities to each other. This is a quick bio for Sir Haydn
No.3 “Sir Haydn” “I’d tell you a knock knock joke, but I haven’t any hands.” Humble, intelligent and quiet are the words most people would use to describe Sir Haydn, while his fellow engines and close friends would also add funny to the list. Sir Haydn will take any chances he can to make someone laugh. With a unique perspective on the world his jokes don’t always make sense to those unfamiliar with his sense of humor. Sir Haydn will always find the absurd in the mundane and the logical in the ridiculous. Even at the worst of times the others know they can rely on Sir Haydn to find something to laugh about.

I'm seeing a lot of posts where the overall point is good, but it's still full of dubious information. People act like questioning the sources is a betrayal of the virtue of the point, but, and I cannot stress this enough:
You should still question sources you agree with.
