They’re both mages. Haha. Though Kieran doesn’t really like to use his magic. He doesn’t get the nightmares anymore, but the fear of them coming back sits at the back of his head. So Edric ends up training him on how to use blades, so he could still defend himself without using magic.

Ellyn is a natural. Morrigan had a lot of fun teaching her about magic and how to use it. And Ellyn was even able to pick up shapeshifting. She’s basically a carbon copy of Morrigan who looks a bit more like Edric lol minus the cat energy. (I guess you could say… maybe Ellyn is closer to who Morrigan could have been if Flemeth didn’t raise her in an abusive manner…?)

Did Edric and Morrigan planned to have another child or did they both overestimate Grey Warden's low fertility rate?

The latter. Ellyn is a (pleasant) surprise baby. Haha.

Edric did float the idea sometime ago before Ellyn got conceived. Morrigan wasn’t opposed to it. But they both kept their expectations low because of the Grey Warden thing. So I guess the former is also correct, but more of in a “if it happens, it happens” way?

Anon from the previous question, when I meant "the talk" I meant the birds and the bees. Who did the teaching on that front.

Oh. RIGHT. Hahaha. I thought you were pertaining to them having to explain why Kieran may be different from other children to Ellyn hahaha. Anyway... Edric probably does the talk with Kieran. I imagine Morrigan gets very straight to the point without all the intricacies of intimacy if she tries it herself. And she lets Edric do it and just observes. But Edric would let her handle the talk with Ellyn.

hello everyone i was in the toolset earlier discovering things. do you know that if you talk to a romanced morrigan after doing the dark ritual and ask her if your relationship was just an entanglement, she’ll say she should have known better and kept her distance, unless she has the “in love” status in which case she’ll say “i... yes. if it shall make this easier... then yes, that is all it was. an entanglement and nothing more”. she’ll deny her feelings specifically if she loves you because she thinks it’ll make it easier for you to let go

I have filed this one under “things I haven’t thought of before” once again. Hahaha. Knowing Edric, he wouldn’t make the two of them feel like Kieran was different. And perhaps Morrigan as well. Their priority is making sure they are loved and taken care of.

Right now, I think Ellyn wouldn’t know her brother is different until perhaps when she gets to interact with other children. And that is what prompts Ellyn asking her parents about how her brother seems to be different. (But she’s just curious. She loves her brother.) Both Edric and Morrigan would do “the talk”. But I think Morrigan would talk more since she can explain it better. Edric would be there beside her being a puppy.

I think after finding out, she’d be more protective of her brother even if she’s younger hahaha.

Before staying in Orlais, it was not particularly hard being the sibling of someone with an Old God’s soul. I imagine it gets trickier with them having to interact with more people though. Morrigan and Edric would have to make sure Ellyn wouldn’t accidentally spill the truth about Kieran. So they mostly grew up just being around one another when they’re in a more populated area. That’s until Ellyn gets to an age when she fully understands how and why to keep Kieran’s old god thing a secret.

Regarding Ellin's age, I don't want to interfere with your personal canon, but maybe it would have been better if Ellin was born after the Inquisition (this would help avoid the question of where she was during the Inquisition)?

Hey, no prob! I actually contemplated this, but I prefer Kieran and Ellyn not having a HUGE age gap. (He's around 10 in Inquisition if I remember correctly) Maybe Edric and Morrigan left her with Uncle Fergus. :) Kieran has to be closer to Morrigan since... old god soul.

What's Ellyn's age during veilguard?

I’ve actually never thought about it before this question. Kieran was probably around 4 years old when she was born… So maybe she’s at least 16 years old around Veilguard.
