Hi was wondering if you have another word for fate or destiny?

Yuan 缘 (緣) or Yuanfen 缘分( 緣分) is often referred to as the “predestined affinity” — the binding force that eventually brings two people together as friends or lovers in the future.

It is a Buddhist-related Chinese concept of the predetermined principle that dictates a person’s relationships and encounters, usually positive, such as the affinity among friends or lovers.

But interestingly, “fate” isn’t the same thing as “destiny.” Even if lovers are fated to find each other, they may not end up together. The proverb, “yǒu yuán wú fèn 有緣無份 (have fate without destiny),” describes couples who meet, but who don’t stay together, for whatever reason. It’s interesting, to distinguish in love between the fated and the destined.

Conor returned the hug, lifting Abby off the ground by slight millimeters before releasing her. “Nah, just having some fun in the Battle Subway. Weird way to battle, but it’s fun!” He gave her a little grin, stuffing his hands back into his pockets. If he kept them there he couldn’t feel the pins and needles.

“Now, you wanted to go on the rollercoaster?” He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly, looking into the park at the winding ride that was mostly indoors, but burst out the sides as well. “Or did you want to get something to eat...?” Don’t get him wrong, he loved the Roller coaster... but he also had an empty stomach that thankfully was staying quiet.

Maybe he should call Conrad over; it’d been a while since they’d gone on the Ferris Wheel together. Later though. Now was Abby time!

Conor stretched languidly as he left the station. It had been a long time since he’d battled, just for fun... He’d missed it. He didn’t miss the leftover paralyze powder making his arm numb, or any other result of fighting in close quarters, but he’d missed battle.

But after a quick heal for his team, Conor quickly left for the Amusement Park, shaking the last tingled out of his numb arm.
