Hi Anon, according to the Westerners, life path number 9 is more about letting go of things, healing, helping. In India, 9 is related to Mars, which is all about fighting and conquering. Also, check if you were born before sunrise because if it's the case, your life path number will be the previous, e.g life path 8.

Anyway, 9 is the last number and you said you often found the number 12. The 12th house is the last house, so, it seems like you have to finish off previous karmas. The 12th house meaning is important for you, not to mention your 1st house Lord is there. You need alone time, sleep. If you write words with vowels only, you couldn’t understand anything. Conversely, if you write words with consonants only, you could still guess the meaning of it, such as in most Semitic languages that generally don’t use the vowels. Consonants used alone will never be as clear as words written both with consonants and vowels. Consonants used alone are less mysterious than vowels taken apart but they’re still enigmas.

It is the common point shared between the Potential Number (consonants) and the Soul Number (vowels): they reveal something HIDDEN.

The Soul Number reveals the hidden needs, the hidden drive, the hidden motivation. It is spiritual, psychological, emotional.

Different systems in numerology *Updated version*

As promised, here is the new version of the post about the different calculation systems used to analyze your inner self in numerology. I share my latest discoveries regarding these methods, so, you will see that I added a few more details about some of them, as well as new techniques such as the minor numbers, the Maturity Number and the Main Challenge Number.

Here are the many types of calculation systems we use in Numerology:

The Personality Number or Expression Number

This is the number that describes someone’s behavior, their talents, their abilities, their shortcomings, their physical constitution, their job performance…  We use the first name, the middle name and the surname that you’ll find on the birth certificate. People who changed their names legally must use their new name, but still, it’s important to look at the former name.

Concerning the imaginary character Cary Emily Macavoy, in her case, she should use « Cary Emily Macavoy.»

The Minor Expression Number

This number adds more information about the Expression Number. The Minor Expression Number generally compensates for some characteristics that may miss in the full name number or characteristics that appear in excess there. It shows the outer traits of the individual. To find the Minor Expression Number, use your short name.

For example, Cary Emily Macavoy will only use “Cary Macavoy,” not “Emily”.

The Name Ruling Number

This number describes someone’s way of life, values, and personality. We use the first name. The nicknames are also used, but the analysis must be different. Regarding the nicknames, the numbers ruling them will describe the way people calling you that way see you.

The Family Ruling Number

It is the outer appearance’s number. It also describes what the primary qualities someone receives from their family, as well as the main characteristics of this family. Only the last name is calculated here. Married women must use their maiden name, but their husband’s name still has an effect. It’s always interesting to take a look at it too.

The Soul Number or Soul Urge Number or Heart’s Desire Number

This number shows what’s underneath: inner cravings, motivations, likes, dislikes… This number is made up from the vowels of the first name, the middle name, and the surname.

The Minor Soul Number

Just like the Minor Expression Number, this number adds other details, but this time, about the Soul Number. We only use the first name and the surname’s vowels.

The Potential Number

This number denotes someone’s skills and appearance. This number describes the first impression you get when you see someone.  Only the full name’s consonants are calculated.

The Minor Potential Number

Just like the Minor Expression Number and the Minor Soul Number, this number reveals new details, but this time, concerning the Potential Number. This number is one more layer on the individual’s appearance and look. Only the short name’s consonants are used here.

The Life Path Number

The most famous method in numerology. It shows our mission and characteristics we develop. The number is derived from the whole date of birth.

The Maturity Number

This number acts as a second Life Path Number. But its influence will be mostly felt from age 30. This number reveals your hidden true goals. To find this number, add the Life Path Number and the Expression Number.

The Main Challenge Number or the Third Challenge Number

This number reveals your weaknesses and shortcomings. Actually, there are 4 Challenge Numbers that you will have to deal with at specific periods of your life,  but one of them, called, “the Main Challenge Number” or the “Third Challenge Number” will last throughout your life. To find it, you will need your birthdate. Subtract the digits derived from the month and day of birth, then, subtract the digits obtained from the year and day of birth and finally, subtract the digits you’ve just found.

The Birthday Number

This number denotes our main talents.  It’s represented by the day of the month in the birthdate. No need to add it up into a single digit. :)

Happiness Number

The meaning is clear: it is the number that makes us happy! The number is made up from both day and month in someone’s date of birth.

These are the primary methods used in numerology. You can also find lots of others such as the pinnacle cycle numbers, the personal year numbers, the karmic lesson numbers…

As for decoding your numbers, it is quite easy. The numbers are reduced by adding the digits together until the sum achieved is one of the core numbers, that is to say, from 1 to 9, including the master numbers, 11 and 22 which are never reduced when they’re found in the total number.

Let’s take the case of Cary who was born on 12/24/1987 :

1+2= 3

2+4= 6

1+9+8+7= 25 / 2+ 5= 7 

3+6+7= 16 / 1+6= 7

Cary’s Life Path Number is 7, that is derived from a Karmic Number, 16.

Regarding the names, you must first refer to the chart to know the numeric value of each letter. Then, you reduce the numbers by adding the digits together until the sum achieved is one single number, just like above.

The Soul Number. What is it?

What is the Soul Number? Also called « soul urge number » or « heart’s desire number », the Soul Number is an important number to know. Why? Because it reveals what you desire most in life. In other words, this number shows what you need… As well as your hidden aspirations. Behind the façade, that is to say, the Expression Number, the Potential Number, and the Family Ruling Number, you find the core of yourself: the Soul Number.

So, when you want to hire a new employee in your business, or when you want to make sure you know well your boyfriend/girlfriend, or when you want to vote, don’t forget to calculate the Soul Number… The result is always very interesting, believe me. ;)

How to find it out? First, convert the names ‘vowels to numbers thanks to the mini-chart below, add them up and reduce the final result to a single number or a master number (11 or 22).

Predicting the future in Numerology - The basics

As 2019 is coming closer, I thought it would be the occasion to make a few points about Numerology and the future.

Can Numerology predict the future?

Numerology is mostly known to decipher someone’s personality. But just like Astrology, Numerology has its ways to describe the future. So, yes, it gives clues regarding the future. However, unlike Astrology (mostly Traditional Astrology), it can’t tell precise events. In other words, a numerologist couldn’t tell if someone will be promoted on June 3rd, or have a baby on October 1st, etc. Instead, the numerologists will describe the general atmosphere of the year or month, and give the overall tendencies. If they use more than one method, it will be even more correct, and thus, more impressive. ;)

Numerology’s methods to predict the future

Part I - The birthday

There are various ways to forecast the future in Numerology. And they happen to be a bit complicated sometimes. In this post, I’ll go to the essentials only. In other words, I’ll cover the easiest and most well-known methods. They involve the birthday as well as the letters in the names. But first, let’s go for the calculations involving the birthday.

The Personal Year Number

The most popular method is the Personal Year Number. This number describes the upcoming year’s trends, i.e., the Universal new year. I find it to be particularly powerful. It is also effortless to calculate it:

Find your birthday. Add up your month of birth and your day of birth + the year you’re interested in. Reduce the Master Numbers into a single digit if any.

For example, Kate was born on 04/18/1999. The universal year is 2019.

So, let’s reduce first the double-digit numbers: 18= 1+8=9; 2019=2+1+9=12=3

It will be: 4+9+3=16=7

Her Personal Year Number will be 7.

The Personal Month Number

This number describes a month’s particular tendencies. It’s also easy to find it:

Kate wants to know more about March 2019. Take her Personal Year Number, that is, her 2019 Number (7), then, add 3 (March). It will be 10. March 2019 will be ruled by 1.

The Personal Day Number

It’s not an exciting method to use unless you want to know more about a specific date. Let’s say that Kate wants to know if things will go well on March 2nd, 2019.

Add up her Personal Month Number and the chosen day. For Kate, it will be: 1+2= 3

Her Personal Day Number will be 3.

The Solar Year Number

Combined with the Personal Year Number, this number gives much interesting information about the year you want to know about. You’ll need your Personal Year Number, and you’ll add it to your Life Path Number.

Kate’s Life Path Number is 5. Her Personal Year Number is 7.

7+5=12=1+2=3

Her Solar Year Number will be 3.

The Expression Year Number

The Expression Year Number will give you additional information about the year ahead. To find it, add up your Expression Number and the Personal Year Number.

Kate’s Expression Number is 6. So, it will be 6+7=13=1+3=4

Her Expression Year Number will be 4.

The Period Cycle, the Pinnacle Cycle, and the Essence Cycle Numbers

These traditional methods also describe the future. They give insights about your state of mind, as well as new experiences… But not only in the future. They also provide significant information about the past and the present. These techniques are too important to be summed up in just a few lines. That’s why I’ll go into more depth about them in a post later.

Part 2 - The Letters

The Transit Letter method uses the letters of your names. There are 2 ways to calculate them:

The easiest way: each letter of your full name represents a year. Year 1 starts with the first letter of your first name, year 2 is represented by the second letter of your first name and so on until the last letter of your last name. Then, you repeat. So, when Kate was 4, her Transit Letter was E. But before her birthday, let’s say, in February, her letter was still T.

The hardest way: each letter lasts for its own numerical value. For example, K’s numerical value is 2. So, K will continue for 2 years in Kate’s life. A will only last for one year as its numerical value is 1 and so on. So, when Kate was 4 years old, T will be her Transit Letter, more specifically her Physical Transit Letter as it is part of her first name. Here, the names are separated unlike in the first method above (told you it was complicated! ;) ).

To conclude, this post has been longer than expected but I tried my best to sum them up. There are plenty of other exciting ways to get pieces of information about the future, like the Pinnacle Cycle Number mentioned above or the Magic Cycle Number using the astrological houses… But not to worry, I’ll talk about them soon! :)
