POEM!
Chidinma and I were having a hard time trying to present our poems in a way that wouldn’t take away from them or highlight just the paintings. I came up with the idea of having the poems up on canvases in the middle of class and Chidinm added her own thoughts to the idea. This is the first poem of four.

In all honesty, I am quote tired of seeing this painting. I however wasn’t (and still am not) satisfied with the outcome. I decided to add the streaks of red to represent not only blood but the feeling of being drowned under the weight of confusion and despair.

I have finally finally gotten to the 3rd painting. In all honesty, I do not know where I’m heading with this painting because what I intended to do with it is not what ended up happening. With Artsfest a week away, I’m scrambling to find a way to make it relate with everything else that this project is comprised off.

Painting Update 8
I finally bought two new canvases. It is my hope that having them readily available will somehow inspire/motivate me to start painting on them. I also got them a size or two smaller than the canvas I used for piece #2 so that I would not be overwhelmed.

I took a break from Capstone this week to work on a piece for a show I am attending on Sunday. Although this piece has nothing to do with our project, it gave my mind a break from trying to churn out painting ideas for the Capstone Project.

Creativity Challenge
This week, I will use boredom as a means of boosting my creativity. Although I always have work to do, I tend to get bored and drift into my own head space. This week, I will utilize moments of boredom to catalyze new ideas for my project. Instead of drifting into random spaces, I will try to focus my mind on different ideas I have for my project and how I can intertwine all of them to make meaning.

Reflection 2
Chidinma has finished most, if not all of her poems. Trying to create along to images or themes that she has/conveys through her words is a bit challenging. Even though the poems will go on the artwork, it is still hard to make the pieces make sense individually.
