i like her :-) well maybe a bit obvious because i draw her more than most characters i feel like. or maybe im just imagining things……. its felt like that at least LOL i think her dynamics with her brother and the people around her and the contrast of her vs her family’s legacy is a lot of fun . i also maybe controversially quite like essos and the chapters set there even though i wish grrm went more into the cultures she encounters (we still dont really know that much about the dothraki!!!) . i’m not really a super big mainline series poster though so that kind of extends to her as well i just like other eras more even if they’re not as relevant in the narrative

i feel like people can get really intense about her and its a little overblown sometimes but i guess that comes with online communities and i understand being passionate about a character you like so its whatever

Who are your top three Canon main books characters and f&b characters and why?

they shift a lot LOL but probably sansa - brienne - cersei . i like the plots in king’s landing the most out of all of them in the book and all three of them i think have such interesting mindsets and personalities and issues . affc is probably my favourite book out of the bunch so maybe im a bit biased because cersei/brienne have the most chapters lol

as for f&b honestly idk because most of them aren’t really whole characters 😭 theres so little about so many of them that a lot of it just becomes headcanon but a lot of that is on me i guess . there’s nothing wrong with the format he wrote them in inherently . i don’t know if i could list a top 3 but i like saera, vaegon, aegon iii/viserys (theyre kind of one unit to me) and ive been fond of aenys recently

and strålglans isnt even a direct translation of brightflame either!!! if you translate it literally his name essentially becomes aerion beamgloss/beamshine!!! i think strålglans works fine because i know the translations don’t always go one to one because it’d be silly sounding, but if we DO want to go more literal his name could’ve probably been translated as ljusflamma/lysflamma instead (ljus translates to bright, or light, whereas lys is a kind of niche word idk how to classify exactly but it’s essentially also ’to light’ and flamma is flame) which becomes funnier because he spends time in lys in-universe

i’m not sure if it’s accurate but i usually say laa-rah, kind of in the same tone as something like laura? since english isn’t my first language though i don’t know if i’m the most reliable person to ask 😵‍💫

Oh no why isn't aerea's husband nice to her : ( (i love hearing about your ocs so much)

basically just typical mean westerosi man stuff . 💔 he’s aerion’s friend and probably spent most of his youth and beyond just terrorizing whoever was their target of the week and doing anything aerion asked him to, so i don’t imagine he’s a great guy just as a default lol and on top of that aerea is kind of too small and young and powerless to do anything about it (which also comes with being a wife in westeros in general).

i think he finds her a little bit annoying . he expects almost an extension of aerion, but instead she’s meek and quiet and soft spoken and doesn’t do much except sit around and be miserable, so he uses her attitude as an excuse to take that frustration out on her and blame her . it’s a fun novelty to marry his besties daughter and a targaryen (even though she’s a bastard), but when she actually becomes a person that he has to spend any amount of time with it just falls apart a bit and becomes miserable and boring

i also can’t imagine it helps that she’s not even an adult and he’s nearing 40. they have nothing in common!!!

What happens to aerea when she gets married? You mentioned that life doesn't go uphill for her...

i imagine that she lives at court until ~15, after which she’s married to one of aerion’s close friends (named him trystan swann), and she basically just leaves summerhall/king’s landing to live with him at stonehelm. she’s miserable because he’s not all that nice to her, she’s lonely and struggles to make friends - i imagine they have a kid but she struggles physically and eventually dies from the complications a few years down the line .

it’s sad in part also because i imagine she wants to go back to lys and meet her mom even once but she doesn’t get the chance and dies not knowing whether mom is even alive or cares for her
